Bought a snow plow at a train show yesterday. It only has one small decal on each side. What's the best way to remove it with the least damage to paint?
Thanks

A bit of MicroSol and a Q-tip should take that sucker right off. I've used that to take off factory pad-printed lettering with minimal effect to the paint underneath.
whats microsol and where does one buy microsol?
Thanks Greg
did you google it or search for it on any online train store?
I use a little non-acetone nail polish remover.
This also depends on what brand it is. Some brands have decals that come off very easily compared to others.
If you're in a hurry and don't want to go shopping, pinesol works too. just don't leave the model soaking too long as the plastic will start to get soft and melt

But he is looking to remove a decal. Not strip the paint though.

I prefer using Solvaset instead. Its a little stronger. You could also try using a pencil eraser. Sometimes the eraser can get it when nothing else could. An eraser and some elbow grease could remove all the lettering from the older BB kits, without hurting the paint underneath.
