while playing around with my son he came up with the question why it isn't possible to just uncouple everywhere? This was indeed a good point so after a little bit of thinking I invented a solution for this - easy to retrofit as the installed coupler can remain in place:

The video shows european stock but I see no reason why it doesn't work on US stock.
I got lots of feedback here in Switzerland so I decided to put up a webshop for it - feel free to have a look.
