Help!! I'm trying to find some pictures of D&RGW's 2-6-0 Mogul. DRGW.net lists roughly 30 2-6-0 in the D&RGW roster, but a search has turned up empty. Anyone with any thoughts on where I can find some pictures?
Most engines were scrapped by 1924 (most pre-1920). There were both narrow gauge & standard gauge 2-6-0s. One was converted to a 2-6-0T for use in Salt Lake City. There was a poor shot of this one on the DRGW net site.
Did you try the Rio Grande Historical Society? Also many - if not all - were Baldwin built. Could there be a site for Baldwin?
How about the Colorado RR Museum in Golden? I know they have a library.
Also there was an H.L. Broadbelt who worked for Baldwin & DID sell photos. He passed away & someone else has the collection. Maybe a Google search would show the new owner??? ADDED - The records are at the RR Museum of PA in Strasburg, PA.
Jay
Thanks Jay. I did see that "T" on the DRGW site...would make for an interesting model. I'll check up at the RR Museum next time I'm up there. Thanks for the lead on Strasburg, I'll contact them as well.
Edit: Thanks as well for the idea of the Rio Grande Historical Society...found a picture there!
There's a number of photos on the site, but the navigation isn't the greatest...
I've been looking at this Colorado & Southern Roundhouse kit on Ebay, and wondering if it could be relettered to D&RGW. In the two library photos the tender is wrong, and in the Historical Society photo the tender is correct, but the wheel spacing is incorrect. Now, to determine if I care about the inaccuracies...
