Latest: WE RAN TRAINS!
Wiring up Tortoises & DS-44's like mad. Got most of them done before I tuckered out...
Got JMRI hooked up, can now operate "by wire". Also got JMRI Web Server set, so can use phones as wireless throttles and my tablet has a layout panel for 'pushbutton' turnout control.
First train run was last night... Video attached. First train to run was my first train (well, my first train I bought for myself...): a set of old Rivarossi Passenger cars... Watching 'em rock & roll through the turnouts made me remember I gotta change out those old "deep flange" wheels that aren't happy on code-83 track.

Video showing the webcam set up that lets me view hidden staging on any phone or tablet WITHOUT crawling under to actually go there!

I like your first video with the trains going around best. Would also like to see the ore cars passing the passenger cars going in opposite directions.
Thanks for putting your stuff on the site!!!! lasm
LASM - A couple days of tracklaying and stuff and you'll be hard-pressed to stop me posting (probably too many) operating videos.... I'll slap up some stuff shortly and then 'take requests' for the rest of the roster.
Outstanding. Really enjoying watching your build.
Video of level two track laid... There are a couple sidings left which I'll wait on until after scenery starts coming in - not that sure where/how I'm going to route them. Other than that... tracklaying is complete. Some wiring to do and then we move on to scenery.

Outstanding video, the layout looks great and looks like it will be fun to operate
Thanks clinch Valley! Next video I'll try to have some trains running.
Took some time off building to run trains!
A little prr, some nyc, zephyr shows up, and we get it some logging locos. That darned shay won't haul itself up a 2pct grade, much less with cars. I see bullfrog snot in my future.

Cool video. Do they ever use a pusher with the logging? Or would they just do 3 cars at a time?
Great progress, lasm
Pusher, huh? As in, an excuse to buy another shay? Yeah, I'm going with that

Great video. I really like your Dryfus Hudson. The MTH smoke units are the best.
Great video and layout!
I love the K4
thanks for sharing!

Nice rocks! I can't believe how fast your layout is progressing, do you have a job, too?
Lol, a very demanding one, actually. But amazing what a consistent couple hours per evening will get done.
Amazing work, kjchronister! Really looking forward to watching this one progress!
