My brand spanking new BlueLine 2-6-6-4 N&W Class A died after running for less than 5 minutes.
I called Broadway and they said it sounded like it was shorting out and to return it to them to be fixed. Turnaround time is 7 weeks!!!!
Way back when BLI was just comming into the hobby.I purchased a C&O T1 2-10-4 it was one awesome looking locomotive. after a few days it looked like it jumped up then stopped. I returned it as directed,I wish It took 7 weeks to get it back. I don't remember how long it was but I remember calling several times and being promised 2 more weeks. I asked if they could just send me a new one. They said it was just shipped after a couple more weeks I called again at which time they said it just came in that day. I asked what he meant just came in. I was informed it went back to Korea to be fixed.after 1 more week I got it back.
Take it back to you LHS if they say 7 weeks. Most will handle it.
