Makes Me wish NS would do a heritage series like UP has done. Southern, Nickle Plate, Wabash, N&W.

Yeah, an NKP Heritage locomotive! I pay some bucks for a model of one of those...if we could convince NS to follow UP's lead.

dont know about the Nickle Plate, but i have seen this sou engine in Atlanta before. it was actually in service. it was about 5 or 6 years ago. i saw it more than once and even have a photo of it somewhere. it was switching auto racks between the now closed ford plant in hapeville, and the east point classification yard. is this a GP30? it may not have been this particular one, but i doubt NS would scheme more than one like this. the closest you get from them in the way of heritige is a little reminder of who the original owner was under the number plate.

NS 4610 is a GP59. I am actually painting one of those right now. In fact I even have a paint chip from when they repainted it a couple years ago.

im interested in the photos of the finished product. I have several inoperable engines. maybe repaint one like this as a yard ornament.
