Willis- help me understand Jim's proposal. PLEASE.
He would lend me fake money if I sell my jets and Hummers? How much money can I get for my HO jets and Hummers? Hope I can keep my Vette as gas is cheap enough so I can drive it once a month.
Are these the form standard federal government forms, to be filled out in ink and in triplicate? I'll get writer's cramp!
Fake money for real part ownership of ny layout? Will Jim help with building the scenery? A freight car of his choice each week? In three weeks he will have my entire fleet!
He will just display the freight cars on his wall? Girls have heard promises like that from their dates since cars had backseats.
Jim- that phone you heard ringing is Obama calling to offer you a spot on his Cabinet!!
I promise not to ask to borrow any money if we can go back to our normal friendly harrashment of each other. Okay, friend? Even if you are a BAMA fan!

Not much, really. It just means you get added to the requestor's friends list that you can see if you click on thier name. It's a vBulletin feature that's used much more on social networking type sites. But you can be my friend and I'll be yours. Mikey, it doesn't man you borrow money from me but that you can pretend you can.

Against my better judgement I have responded (I think...not really very clear) positively to a couple of people. But once I said "okay, add to my list of friends", nothing else ever came of it. So, I am mystified, and probably none the worse for wear over it. My bank account seems to be intact.

Johnny, I will be happy to be in charge of the fake bailout program here. I will be happy to give out fake money, in reasonable amounts, to any model railroader in need. You must first sell your private jets and any Hummers you might own. Steve, you can keep your tank. I will also require that you give me part ownership in your layout so you'll have to send me a freight car of my choice once a week. I promise I will just use them for display.

I'm for the bail out as long as I can fly with the cabinet members in their private jets paid for with fake government tax payers money when ever I want and also fill a seat on that cabinet to insure My fleet is sitting on said shelf in said halls of congress and not on someone elses layout collecting revenue.
BTW, didn't the Fake government bail out Conrail a long time ago and micro manage that too?

OK, I can see I will need Willis as my head auditor to keep you all in line since the greed is setting in already. Willis will have to approve all expenditures from your fake bailout money. That's after you've filled out all the forms.
Mikey, I'm sorry but you can't have HO private jets or HO Hummers as they are too ostentatious a display of wealth for you to get fake money. You will have to send them to the CARP (Crappy Assets Railroad Plan) warehouse for storage. That warehouse just happens to be my address but I'm just being a good citizen by renting space for the government to store those ostentatious assets until every one calms down, after which you will more than likely get them back, less a slight service and storage charge. You also have no choice but to participate in CARP or there may be a hostile takeover of your railroad by the ARG, a large and powerful corporation that's too big to fail.
Steve gets to keep his tank because he lives in the UK. The UK is a victim of bad US policy that has caused this massive, world-wide, model railroad meltdown so it wouldn't be fair to punish him. Willis gets to keep all his stuff also because he's Canadian and another victim. That's why we owe him the auditors job.
Mikey, the CARP program will eventually end up owning all your rolling stock because you need fake money to keep real things running. It's not a problem, though, because you only have to sell other fake rolling stock back to CARP to get your real rolling stock back. That way, everything balances out. Of course, there will be a slight service and handling charge, payable in actual money.
Rex, I have no idea why all this would be difficult to understand. This is just a straightforward government plan to step in and help struggling model railroaders. Why, the whole thing is streamlined, so you'll get your fake money fast. After you fill out all the forms, of course. Perhaps your concentration on the SEC game is interfering with your ability to understand simple English.

I think you say that I can get something for something I don't have, providing that I give part of the something to the government as part of the provisions to get something. Ok, I understand now.....[thinking].....What about getting something for something I want to have.

No, Rex, for the plan to work, you have to get something fake for something real. You then use the fake stuff to go out and buy other fake stuff but you have to give me (the friendly government) something real, but not too much, just a slight service fee and handling charge. As long as you keep giving me the real stuff, I will give you more fake stuff so you can buy more fake stuff. Eventually, investor confidence will be restored and all the fake stuff will turn real and you can then pay me back with real stuff for all the fake stuff I gave you, plus a slight service fee and handling charge. At that point, all the markets will be in balance and we'll all have everything we ever wanted on our model railroads.

OH, so you will give me a fake something for something I have real. I can then use the fake something and give my yearly bonuses and hold the Christmas office party in Bucktooth, Tennessee. Everyone will believe that my Railroad is financially strong and want to buy in. Heck, we might even buy more railroads with the fake somethings. Ok, that sounds fair. I can't see where anyone would have a problem with this.
