Hello Model Railroaders......I came across this guide the other day that I had forgotten about. The girl friends daughter had found it in a second hand store a few years back. I thought I would share with you guys so you could see how some aspects of model railroading were done Back In The Day!
Can any body come up with a date for it? I'm guessing mid-late 60's. The zip code came about in 63.

Mostly correct. The name existed but was not used on model RR products until 1970. That's when the company started using it on the Varney product line that they had purchased in 1960. I would guess this book came about in the mid-70's.
My favorite "old timey" hint was a from a late 50's Kalmbach book that advised mixing asbestos shorts with your plaster to make your scenery hardshell stronger.
