Athearn blue box 4-6-2 Pacific keeps shorting out

Hi there on my athearn atsf 4-6-2 Pacific one of the wires keeps touching the frame and shorting out how can i fix that.? Thankyou look forward to hearing back.

Ummm, wrap some tape around it would seem to be a good idea.

The Athearn “blue box” 4-6-2 is from 1959, and has rubber band drive. Is that what you have?

I think mine has a worm gear cuz i opened it up and did not see a rubber band.
