Are there HO deer that are a-little “big”

Hi, for those of you who don’t know me, I’m actually an “S”-scale modeler who, like most “S”-scale modelers, will borrow from other scales when applicable.

I’m currently constructing a CJ-3A for my “S”-scale layout and was hoping to strap a deer to the hood of this vehicle.

Unfortunately, there are no deer available in “S”-scale so I was wondering if any of you knew of any large HO deer which I could turn into a small S-scale deer.

While I could work with any material, I think white metal would be best, since this would allow me to bend the deer to fit the hood of the jeep.

Thank you in advance for your help.

PS. I’ll be asking the O-scale guys about small deer as well.

perhaps HO scale elk could pass for S scale deer at a reasonable distance? you might need to reduce their rack a bit.....

It depends on what region you are modeling. HO deer would scale right for the "rabbits" the hunters bring home in New Jersey.

I've seen deer in toy stores that were a little too big for HO.
They usually come in assorted critter bags.
