any one that can help me out with a slow engine ?

my latest addition is a athern c44-9 .but when i test ran it at home and at a show the next day it took alot of juice to get it going .when it went it sereously went.i took off the shell and everything checked out and i have cleaned the wheels .does anyone have any suggestions

Do other engines behave the same way? If not maybe it's the transfer from the trucks to the main body

no thats the only one . how would i check the transfer between the 2 ?

Is this locomotive DC or DCC? Do you meam you had to give it a lot of throttle and then it took off like a jackrabbit?

dc with a dc-c plug and jes on that last part

Could just be a tight mechanism. Run it for a while in both directions. Could also have a burr on a gear...doesn't take much. Jerry
