Jaz- The first picture shows the brand name of H POOLE & SON of Birmingham and London..
That caught my attention as I live near Birmingham, Alabama.
Great detail to add to your road.
Jaz- I think you have succeeded very well.
I am enjoying you construction photos as the finished product looks very different from the raw area.

I am a bit of a cheapskate on the sly, and when I want something I believe is over priced I either wait or get impatient which leads to problem solving I had the same issue with steps, the ones I wanted were rip £6.75 but were no longer made and people were paying £25+ to get hold of them I had a couple but thought……eeeeek I am not paying that and was using foam at the time so…l.
this is the over priced faint item resin and metal very nice but not the stupid price it was attracting
this is my foam attempt

these plaster boxes come with lids
the water jugs in straw look plasticky with the bright yellow but painting the straw and the cork a beige improve it no end
real life pallets often are repaired leaving cleaner wood, the metal ones look more worn, so I coloured them to match
there is also a hire pallet service they paint them blue
the ‘soil’ in the lorry is dried tea leaves I suspect coffee grounds will work, must be dry or you get mold issues
pallet goods are often plastic wrapped, so cling film from the kitchen does a good job of imitating it’s not much bigger brother
My tracks go over and under the scenery, well the scenery goes over and under and behind scenery all over the place technically you have just left the Goathland area, although this area doubles as part of the Harry Potter filming area but can be remodelled as desired for other layouts.
Where the tracks run, you are limited to the tracks, unless you run scenery over the top as I do in numerous places, but the scebery can be manipulated,I have boxes of items than can be traded out as the mood takes me, allowing the same tracks to have numerous identities
a sleepy English village with a touch or two does Hogsmeade with a Harry Potter a Anglia and a triple decker bus
Wonderful country. Love it. But...where are the dragons ? Every layout needs dragons.

But box those houses and open another and that same area is now a ruins

cut with a kitchen knife!
I love using fine surgical tools like a kitchen knife or hacksaw blade.

Jaz- I thought those were jugs of wine.
I am so disappointed that we cannot take them to a party.
Do you make use of genies and magic lamps, too?
I love the dragons!!
