What do you do for a living?

After 26 years in the Air Force, I did something similar. Went to work for Public Works here in Papillion NE and after a year as a "grunt", took over supervising all of the parks and green spaces. Did that for just over 13 years until a virus attacked both sides of my brachialplexus nerve...

    Made in America?

I'd have some second thoughts about using those items for tea considering the spate of warnings about Chinese made products containing unacceptable levels of lead.

MTH is supposedly releasing their plastic version of it sometime this year and Athearn has plans to do their version...

    Benchwork Question??

Jack--Not sure what you mean by using the luan as the base for the module. Yes, it can be used on top of the 1x4 benchwork, again depending on it's thickness and the span between benchwork components. You also mentioned using foam atop of the Luan which will also add strength to the overall...

    Benchwork Question??

Most layouts I've seen use 1x4s for the frame/benchwork. I believe that's the standard for most modulargroups as well. Using anything smaller may not provide sufficient support to allow you to do your track and scenery work. Then again, I suppose it might work if you're not planning on something...

The Coffee Shop is now open. Come on in and say hello.

Good afternoon/evening to all. Started the morning off with good old Coca-Cola. Now that work's done for today, it's time for an adult libation! I believe you can use a product called "Shur-lock" or something of that spelling to seal cinder/concrete block. Check with your local building...
