:rolleyes:Chris,,,,I'm kinda disappointed in you,,,,,not prepping for a party!!
WHAT????!!CHRISThe party animal is not getting anything together for a party at Jims place?????!!!!!

Whats with the boy???:eek::eek::eek::eek:

He settling down in his old age??:eek::eek::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Good evening--I'se be heading off to get some work done:):):D:D

Evening, everyone.

Chris, as for the bottled water thing, have you seen the Fiji water in stores yet? Yep, water bottled in Fiji and shipped all the way here. I have no idea why it's popular. When I was in Fiji, the water gave me giardia.

Tom, sorry about about your knee. Good idea to have the doc take a look if it doesn't feel better in the next day or two. You may need some immobilization if you've busted some cartilage.

Corey, it's much better to rip something apart and do it over than have it stare at you for years while you grow to hate it even more. :) I've done the same thing a few times and always been happier when I did it. And why would anyone need to golf? :D

Jeffrey, beautiful blue sky here today, still hot, but much lower humidity. thank goodness. Remember the old days, when junkyards had parts for cars going back to the 30's? Now I think everything over 15 years old gets crushed.

Rex, I''l be back on the 20th. My next trip is Honduras, leaving July 7 and coming back on the on the 17th. Dianna leaves for Colorado again on the 19th, so I won't have her crying if I go up to play with some trains. See how your schedule looks for those dates and let me know. I'm hoping nothing else can go wrong, with the year I've had so far. :(

Chris, I had my fill of "Pride Weeks" after 28 years in the Bay Area. We had an annual "Dykes on Bikes" in Guerneville every year. Guerneville is an unicorporated city on the Russian River, so we got stuck policing it. Had lots of interesting things happen, most of which would get me thrown off of here if I wrote about them. ;)

Barry and Terry, here you are, trying to instigate Chris, who I'm sure is just trying to act like a responsible businessman now....probably. In the event you do want to have a party, just ring the bell. My daughter will be home, and she did really well with Remington 870 last week at the range. If she's not home, the key will be at the neighbor's house on the right. You know, the FBI agent. He's on the Rapid Response Team now and has an arsenal that would rival Bob's. He would just love to see y'all. :p

We leave for Birmingham tomorrow, stay at a hotel overnight, and have to be at the airport at 0500 of a 0630 flight on Wednesday. We fly through Miami to get to Cancun. No signs of any tropical storms, the volcano ash from Guatemala is blowing the right way, no swine flu, even the front that bought all the thunderstorms is out of the area. Nice and quiet...actually, kind of eerily quiet for any trip I'm on...Maybe I'll finally luck out.

Jim, Jim, Jim....When will ever learn There is a way around everything! As for your daughter, if my stunning good looks ain't enough to get us in the house. All I have to do is let her invite all her friends and all your neigbors too!:D And as for a key? Who needs a stinking key?? Funny how doors and windows open on their own:D. Jim you have a wonderful time at Key West;) Don't worry about the house we got it coverd!:D;)

BTW Terry, Leave jims cat alone! we don't need another episode like last time! But you can race jims trains around his layout at warp speed!

Well, all, been absent for a couple of days. People going out of country, busting up knees, planning parties in other's absence, just glad to see nothin's changed.

Seems one of our hot rods, built 11 years ago, injured the 3rd owner while drag racing. Getting sued. We have a disclaimer on ALL of our cars that states each creation is for LEGAL street use only. But this guy is the third owner... go figure. With a big RAT he tried drag racing it, crashed and was severely injured. One thing I cannot be responsible for is STUPIDITY!!!! There have been only a handful of cars we ever built that would stand up to the rigors of racing.

As for pics of our dogs, here's a group of "copy and paste" from the Humane Society's Facebook page. The first one was taken before we got them dressed for the contest. The bandanas were a part of the entry gifts.

Left to right are Baby, Hannah, Shylah, and that's Otie muggin' it up on the right. It took us 5 minutes to get the dogs settled down to take that picture. With all of the other dogs there, ours thought it was "Make a Friend and Play" day.

Here, Angela and I are getting the pooches ready in their costumes with the help of a friendly boxer. Didn't make the task any easier let me tell ya.

And here we are getting ready for the judging. I'm trying to sort out the leashes and dogs so we don't get all fouled up(again). Angela's black eye came about chasing the dogs at night a couple of nights before the outing. She tripped over a stump of tree we had cut out a couple of days before. Could have been a bad deal if she'd fallen a few inches differently. The landscape timber planter she fell against could have done some serious damage had she hit the corner. The stumps have since been removed.

All in all a good time for all. Shylah was to have received the "Rescue Pup of the Year", for her journey from being a puppy mill breeder, since we had already won the costume event, we opted to forgo the prize and let someone else in on the fun. Worked out well, as we received a "double prize" since there were four dogs in our group.

I get some train time today. <applause> I've got a bunch of conversions to finish, old Mantua gons that need coupler boxes installed. If anyone has some old Kadee couplers that have lost the knuckle spring and you don't feel like fixing them, I'm in need. I must have 500 springs and have FINALLY run out of disrepaired couplers. I know many modelers just change out broken couplers and toss the bad ones aside. Never understood that. It's so easy to fix 'em. I could use McHenry's, got a butt load of those, but, I keep knocking the knuckles/heads off working the cars in the yard and in the industrial switching areas. If not, I'll have to bite the bullet and buy a package of the 25pr. Just thought if someone had some "broken" ones, I would take them off of their hands

I still need to get some 9/64" plastic rod to update some of my reefers. They were the old LifeLike(I think) with Talgo trucks and I'm updating them to standard Atlas trucks and Kadees. I've got about a dozen of those to do. I fill the old "holes" in the bottom of the cars with the rod, Cut off flush, then drill for the screws, and mount the trucks. They came as part of a few "lot" deals I got on eBay. Finally getting around to updating them.

Jim, enjoy Cancun. I was there a couple of times and developed a taste for Tequila.

My question is how can a third party sue your business? Was that car a custom order for the first party, and how may mod has the first owner and second owner done to the car before selling it to the third owner?

Which leads to...How many kids have died racing their Ford Mustangs and Chevy Camaros and Super Bikes? I wouldn't worry, Bob it will get thrown out of court as fast as it shows up!

It's the new way of life, "It ain't my fault, it's that guys fault over there I'm stupid!" LOL's Plenty of poster childern for birth control out there! HUH?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Chris, I agree, as does my lawyer. Seems the original customer did do some vintage racing with the car, but nothing serious. A pass or two at car shows. The car had a Mustang II front clip, a rebuilt custom frame to be able to handle the torque andweight from the BIG RAT, a Ford 9" rear end, and was built as a show car to take to weekend 'rod fests', not to a drag strip. We even place metal plaquards on the door jams with a statement saying DO NOT DRAG RACE THIS CAR as it it built for show only. Of all of the cars we built at the "SkunkWerks", I can think of only 3 that were built for the strip, and I own one of them, my Willys, yet it is still street legal. The suit is for 1.2 million plus pain and suffering. Right..... I still have to pay a lawyer for representing me. That won't come cheap, I'm sure. Maybe, I'll counterfile for hardship and get those fees taken care of, I don't know the laws in NJ, so I'll have to check on that.

My lawyer's sister is a lawyer in NJ so she is going to handle the case. I talked to her on the phone yesterday for two hours and she seems to think we can get the case transferred to a "friendly" judge. And like you, she feels it will be dismissed. Stupidity and careless use of product is no basis for suit. But, there was that case against McDonalds and the hot coffee.................

Looks like BIG EARSHPLITTINLOUDENBOOMERS here later today. I've got to get outside and fill the holes made by the stump and root removal from Angela's "trip". And I have four less conspicuous stumps to remove. Not really less conspicuous, just in a location that no one would trip over them.

Angela's middle name is Rose, it should have been "Grace(less)". She drops a frying pan, breaks out the front of the oven. Pulls the car up next to the garage and runs over my tomato plants.......Drops the iron and tries to catch it(yes it was on) and she had large blisters on her hands. Was working in the garden and stepped on a hoe and darn near broke her nose.....Was using my fillet knife to slice a roast and broke the tang and stabbed herself......The girl has become a walking accident waiting to happen. And she wonders why I walk across the street when we go for walks. I value my health and my life!!!!!

Just a couple of weeks ago, she had a project for me to do for her. We were in the shop looking at pieces of wood when she pulled down half of the rack the wood was stacked in!!!! Busted my shins up GOOD!!!! She had the dumbest look on her face, like, "Wha' happened?" After rubbing my shins for a half hour, and the pain subsided and I could finally walk, I looked up and she was still holding that damned piece of wood!!!!! lol Gotta love her, though. Besides, she's one heck of a cook!!!!

Well, gotta get outside before the rain and move some dirt. Oughtta take about 20 minutes. Then......train time!!!!!!

Bob

PARTY
Chris When do you want me to drop off the warm real ale and peanuts,,, i fancy racing some of Jims trains ;)

I'll bring my 36v power supply. The racing should be good then.

Add pretzels to the list, Steve, and maybe some boiled eggs and jalapeno poppers. And some cheese too, if you don't mind.

I hate waiting for glue to dry.....

With stuff like that on the menu it's starting to sound like my kind of party! Just keep me away from the booze. Nobody needs a drunk Indian hanging around.

Also I'll bring the JD and SC as I do think some might want to go for the hard stuff at some point.:D:D:D I also ordered the Labatts truck with all the kegs:D:D

As well, I'll bring the eggs and bacon for breakie as well as all kindsa Tim Hortons donuts and such----:D:D:D

BTW---how we doing for the BBQ---I have a big bbq here we can use--:eek:

Did somebody say JD? I love Jack Daniels whiskey.

I can see from the weather that the weather guesser completely missed the mark yet again. I rather consider him to be like the Trojan princess Cassandra* in some respects.

*Greek Mythology . A daughter of Priam, the king of Troy, endowed with the gift of prophecy but fated by Apollo never to be believed.

OK, Jeffery, Shirley Temples for the big Indian in the corner.

I've got about 100#, or so, of elk meat for the BBQ. Nix the JD, I'm a dear friend of Mr. Jimmy Beam. Don't forget to invite the 'Bama cheerleaders. Or the strippers............

The glue is STILL drying!!! What the he........? I should have used the Testors.

Some people are too stupid to figure anything out, let alone what's safe or unsafe. I know. I used to build and sell hot rods as a hobby. Some were built for racing (last one built in the mid 80's) while the others were built strictly for show. There could be a big sign on it with big letters saying 'NOT BUILT FOR RACING' but some moron would try anyway. That was one of the reasons I dropped that hobby.

PARTY
,,, i fancy racing some of Jims trains ;)

We need to leave that to the Pro's! "Terry" Has a real rep. for getting trains to hit lightspeed and planting RR cars into block walls! No Joke, Terry and My late friend Lew was at my house for my son B-Day party. We were running some of my trains....I had to leave for a second to see what the wife wanted...Came back 30 seconds later and cars were flying all over the place!

We'll put up targets on the walls in jims basement and see if terry can hit them:D!

I guess I'll make the Hurricans! I think i got some spiced rum lying around here some where and a blender? Who's got the Ice?

No problem. I just won a Russian missile targeting system on Ebay a few days ago. It's supposed to be accurate within 6 feet at 17,000 miles. Across the room should be a piece of borscht.:p

Good News! I got three BAMA cheerleaders and one Auburn cheerleader that comes with a paper bag, all lined up for the party. The one from Auburn said he would love to meet Chrisy. Dang, I sure am getting excited about racing trains. We should be able hit the target easily using 36 volts. This time, someone bring a drywall repair kit.
Don't worry about bringing meat for the BBQ. I will pick up some roadkill on the way down:eek:.
