Would a switch panel like this work for tortoise machines?

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

There are three basic ways to wire tortoise machines. Yes, these will would work if you are using an AC power supply and diodes, or if you are using a full dual DC supply (plus, common, minus). No, It will not work if you are using a standard single DC supply (plus minus). This last way, as the others have said, would require DPDT switches.

Save yourself a lot of frustration and use DPDT switches, as MikeGTW has already said, the dpdt switches in the tortoise can't be used in the way you want.
