I’m currently banned from Lowe’s. “Apparently” I over spent last weekend and my accountant was less than pleased. So it looks like not much is going to happen on the railroad this weekend. Haven’t bought any plywood yet. Trying to find a cheaper wood that’s smooth and flat. The stuff I want is running between $45 and $48 a sheet. *sigh*

First world problems.

Plywood is definitely expensive. I'm not sure what it's going for, but have you looked into something like OSB?

The first of three buildings for the Schwarzburg Bahnhof is finally complete.

I ended up removing the black structure over the tracks in the left of the photo. I wasn't entirely satisfied with it, and a car derailing and getting stuck in it decided the matter for me. So, now I have to come up with something better for that spot.

I violated my parole today. This chunk was shorten to 8 foot long. It didn’t look right. I decided to go with the original 12 foot long. I like it. Finally, all the benchwork is done. Now I’ll ask for forgiveness.

As mentioned previously Clarence Dock has gone to be replaced with Leeds Sovereign Street Station.

In real life the Leeds & Liverpool Canal had a basin near Sovereign Street
Keeping part of the old Clarence Dock and renaming it L&L Sovereign Basin

Still a lot to do, but hopefully when finished operations will be much better

I have dug out my old locomotive servicing and overhaul works plank from storage, it needs improvements, some scenic work, maybe some work on the buildings and the backscene which has been damaged.

It is one of the original Genesis that came with the MRC decoder, however it has been upgraded to a Soundtraxx Tsunami

I took the day off to work on the layout !


Added a homestead. Putting down a bunch of ground cover, adding some ballast,

Painted a Bachmann 4-4-0 to match the Kettle River Quarry loco paint scheme (flat black).

Running the trains some as well.

The Schwarzburg Bahnhof is nearing completion. This is a trial fit trackside, there is still much detail work to finish. The lighting is installed and working.

The 3/16" sheet cork I ordered from Bangor Cork showed up today. This is for a 6'+ 3-track hidden staging yard on the backside of the layout. Track is already soldered up and has drops, but still need to install the main turnout, the secondary, and cut the remaining cork at the end of the run.

Thanks. It's taken a long time with painting individual bricks, experimenting with wall washes, etc. There was nearly 400 parts in this kit.
