No, I didn't even see it, I was there with a friend who is an insane gambler, it was his mission to gamble the whole time we were there, I was captive because it took about 20 minutes for my allotted funds for gambling to run out and I was stranded. We rode in town with another friend who was working at the casino so we were there for her entire shift.

That's too bad. If you ever get back there, the train ride is well worth it. The Cripple Creek and Victor Narrow Gauge RR is actually built on the old Midland Terminal's grade, and they give a running commentary on the history of the area during the ride. It's been a long time since I was there, but I had a lot of fun riding it.
 
For the latest on my layout, I'm happy to say that the gremlin infestation I had previously posted about appears to have been exterminated, and I repaired the tunnel portal. Lately, I've been working on trying to finish the office for my Old Colorado City yards. Today, I started installing the "glass" in it.
 
Working on the creek. Rock faces are next. This intimidates me.

I wish I could do what you got done with the water. I tried doing water for the first time and it all ended up in tears. I followed youtube videos, painted the bottom, used the Woodland-scenic water, ... It was just not good. I was so unhappy with it that I put a layer of plaster over it. I just finished repainting it to cover the white. I now have to workup the nerve to try again. I am also terrified of making the waterfall in the back.

I've been there! Sometimes I've been unhappy with projects I thought would be pretty easy but ended up re-doing them (sometimes more than once)!

Have you tried building a small moc-up? I haven't poured the "water" on my layout but I did a mock-up of it a long time ago. It's less frustrating to rip apart a mock-up than it is your layout. Good luck!

Did you pour in layers or all at one time? Anything over 1/8” will be cloudy. I kept a heater on in the garage during the cure. Humidity wreaks havoc on this stuff. I’m still leading myself. My first pour didn’t come out so good.see pic attached.

Your streams look great at post 251! I think the smaller streams may be a bit easier.

The rocks along the edge look real, are they?

...and I'm done experimenting with making trees 🤣. My first attempts were with Woodland Scenics armatures. The "foliage" I applied didn't look terrible but I do not like the armatures.

Next attempt will either be making my own wire armatures or trying the Scenic Express Super Trees Starter Kit. OR... maybe see what I can find for natural sticks/twigs to use for armatures 🤷‍♂️

So to answer the question; What's happening on the layout? Nothing! 🤣

Hi, I don't know if you ever tried, but I use a Testor ink-pen that is rust color and just ink in the rails, it is really fast, I have almost complete control of where the ink goes and the ties stay the color I wanted them. Sometimes I get a little ink on top of the rail but not much. Looks like an awesome track plan. I hope you post more as you go.

I'm not sure if that ink pen will work very well. Problem is the same as painting with a brush; it's hard to get the paint on rail base between the tie plates. With spray, the paint covers pretty much the whole rail, just at the end i have to get it off the top of the rolling surface of the rail. My layout description is under Waldenburg Midland if you want to see more.
