I think you will like the PowerCab. I have been using one for almost 2 years. Works great. I run up to 6 trains at a time (have to concentrate o_O of course). It will program DigiTrax, TCS, NCE, ESU and Lenz (Atlas) with no issues. The NCE guys say it is good for 2 Amps. I have used it at about 900mA with 6 diesels running and 6 more idling, and it is fine.

Took maybe 5 minutes to empty the box and set up a test track. It will eventually be for testing and programming but for the near future it will run the trains when I get track down in the new space.

I got the WifiTrak module to be able to add Wifi type throttles to run the layout. Until I decide which other throttles i will use cell phones via WiThrottle

I can't help but share my monthly subscription box that I just started on this forum. I design and 3d print small accessories in HO scale. For $15/month you can get 10-15 small pieces. This month, is a camping theme to celebrate the end of summer.

Bought some Kadee #148 couplers at the local train store last weekend and replaced the McHenry couplers on my Athearn Texas Mexican boxcar. No decoupling now and working like a champ! Thanks to Willie for the suggestion!

Well, still haven't heard about my Athearn GP-15 I pre-ordered which is expected this month but I did just get charged for a NCE Snap-it so I guess that'll be coming this month..... one more switch machine connected to a decoder, it's something :)

You ever walk into a hobby shop and be disappointed but feel you should spend anyway? Scale Model Supplies in St. Paul, Minnesota did that today. I had a few difficult to get pieces of rolling stock that I was hoping they would have. They did but I don’t think they even discounted 10% from full suggested retail. I passed because of pricing and my client I was buying for agreed!

So I purchased some Vallejo Air colors I don’t have and are on my list of colors to try. I also purchased a matte clear finish but I can’t remember the brand. Terry like she does at MidwestModelRR in Independence, Mo. found some decent priced jig saw puzzles and got 2. If I had not purchased some 4’x8’ sheets of .030, .040 and .060 last month I would have gotten the Evergreen styrene extra long sheets they had at pre-Covid prices.

But if you are in the St. Paul area it definitely is a place to stop and look at. They have a large clearance room with lots of old Athearn BB cars. If you are into Lionel, this has got to be a place for you! They have a website but they DO NOT sell online

Volleyball is done for weekend. The WIsconsin Badgers won their matches on both Friday and Saturday and while not real pretty they did dominate

have a great evening

I bought a number of centerbeams a year ago. Made the lumber loads on the printer, then glued them over balsa forms. To bring up the weight, I drilled holes in the bottom of the loads and put in BBs to get to NMRA weights- invisible too. I glued the loads to the centerbeam with caulk so they could be removed without leaving a trace on the car. Adding the weight helps keep the cars from derailing as they are very light.
