We sure have had a beautiful weekend here in North Central Indiana. I talked to my SIL who lives on the west side of INDY and he said they had a very hard rain that lasted all of 15 minutes but it left water standing in his yard. This is the first time he has had water standing in the new yard so it really must have been a gully washer. We are having BBQ ribs for supper. Glendia put em on the crock pot before she went to work. I had thought about putting em on the grill but I did not have any idea of what I was going to do today. I was supposed to go over the in in-laws and power wash their siding because it has mildew and one heck of a lot of dirt on it. I ended up staying home and finishing up my new router stand and top. That is really one nice setup that I now have. I had to take the router and cut a new hole for the router lifter to fit in. My lifter takes an 11 3/4 X 14 3/4 hole and the hole in the top was only 8 1/2 X 11 3/4. One heck of a lot of dust but everything fit perfectly thank goodness. I would have hated to have to buy another table top if I had screwed up.

You have to have a pretty fair arm to hit me with any monkey dung this far out. We're currently about a half mile from Canuckian water.
I have a surplus mortar launcher, if anybody wants to make the attempt. Other than that, I think Bob is pretty safe.:)

At this rate we'd be seeing Chris loading himself up with Intercontinental Ballistic Monkey Doodoo----eeerrgh:eek:!!

Good Evening ---

We got a glorious amount of sun today---so much so I ended up cleaning all the dang windows----:(:eek: Hey, but I can SEE out o' them!!!

I have a 'dinosaur' 'pooter that has only 1Gb of RAM in it that has Vista32 in it--thing goes with me everywhere--use it for all manner of stuff, and no issues. When I picked this thing up I asked about preinstalled ending up with bloatware---there was none in this system---I wonder where this happened b/c I sure did not see it in this---but then again----ACH. Who knows--

It does matter somewhat how this is done. There are a lot of reformatters who just mangle the drive thinking this'll do the trick then end up calling for mere amateurs like moi to redo the dang thing. Another harp of mine----ever get the impression I'm a harp collector?:rolleyes::)

Before I get on the ads kick I'll shut my piehole now--:rolleyes::):)

Gave up dragging line for the day. Another so-so day, but better than yesterday, that's for sure. We actually limited today, although not much size. All in the 4-pound class. Good eatin' though. I'll let Kendra, grandson's GF, take them home for her family. I'm sure we can blossom some fantastic tale as to how she had to kill 'em with a paddle 'cause they kept jumpin' in the boat or sumthin' like that.

Actually pretty flat out here. Nice little breeze. Sun's a tad hot, but that's OK by me. Better than havin' big ones breakin' over the bow, or even the flying bridge, like has happened on Erie on occasion.

I think we are going to the house this evening. Jay wants to show his sweetie the trains. (goody, goody, we get to play with trains!!!) And Amaya has her train that she wants to run. We'll get up tomorrow and head out on the lake for a few hours before heading back to Indiana to deliver the kids.

Well, coming up on the mouth of the river, that means it's my turn to take the wheel. I let the 8-year old pilot us back to this point. Not a bad little helmsman. She didn't do well keeping her eyes on the road, but with all of the electronics staring at her, she seemed to just stare back at them. But, she got us back to where we need to be, I guess that is what is important.

I was climbing up to the flying bridge, and I overheard Kendra telling Jay, "Your granpa is so cool". Amaya pops up with, "We know that". I about fell off of the ladder laughing, and my chest swelled up like barnyard rooster.

Anyway, I gotta start paying attention here. I'll try to get back on later, unless we play with trains all night. Which really doesn't sound like a bad idea at all to me.

Bob

IT IS ALL DONE!

Jim: It was me, a friend (producer and all his camera equipment), 2 actors, and one of his friends. It is a big international film festival if I recall right. We only use the train for one shot, but it didn't make it into the final cut. We had to make a family genre film. I am glad it is over.

Got home

Got home at 8:15 tonite. Took an xtra 2&1/2 hrs. In Georgia on I-75 we sat in traffic for about an hour completely stopped. There was a bad accident about 4 miles south of us. After we started moving it took another 30 minutes to get up to speed. Then we got into Florida & about 20 miles north of Ocala on 75 there was another bad accident south bound. sat in traffic for almost an hour. Finally started moving an inch at a time for the next 4 miles. Finally got close to an exit & got off of 75. We went east to Hwy. 301, went thru Tampa & turned onto SR62 & headed home. The 301 run took an xtra 2 hrs. When we left I-75 & drove over 75 on 326 you couldn't see the end of traffic either way going south. When we got into tampa we stopped at a McD's & there was a state trooper there & he said that the vehicles were lined up bumper to bumper for 14 miles headed south. There were all kinds of older cars & trucks pulled off of the side of 75 w/boiling radiators.
Anyway, we had a fantastic time in NC. met a great friend from the forum by the name of Jerome Wheeler. Got an excellent switcher w/a custom paint job & super details. He got 4 more shells from me to custom paint & some other RR stuff & a beautiful quilt for his wife that my wife made.
Sorry for the long Novel.:D

Evening, everyone.

The weather pulled another surprise today as we got some pretty good storms about 2:00 pm. It looked black as pitch coming in and we had 49 mph winds from the gust front ahead of the squall line. Only had about .25 inches of rain but a ton of lightning. Lots of trees down in the area but no problems here.

BOC, reformatting and reinstalling Vista is an adventure I'd rather avoid. XP was bad enough.

Bob, sounds like you had a great day. Always nice to be out on the water fishing with the family. I'm sure your granddaughter was looking at all the electronics and wndering where the video game console was. :)

Dan, sounds like lots of work. Too bad the train didn't make the cut. When do you find out if the film wins anything?

Larry, glad you got to meet Jerome but the ride back home sounds like a nightmare. One of the reasons I left California is that you couldn't come back any time on a Sunday and not have it take two hours longer than usual. Every time I've been to Georgia, the interstate was always backed up because of road work, accidents, or both. Florida is even worse. I have no idea how they will ever evacuate central or southern Florida in the face of a major hurricane.

Still warm and humid here tonight even after today's storms. Depending on how the storms currently in the plains develop, we may have another round tomorrow and Tuesday.

I thinks I might take a roll in the poo and then roll around on your living and family room carpet!:D

No need to do that, Chris. I'll loan you one, or both, of my Boston Terriers. They always have to get baths because they smell like ****!!!!! And I have to suffer through it all by being the one to give them the baths since I bought 'em.

Jim, the grandkids have grown up fishing and boating. They both started at age three. Both have custom fishing poles, made by Angela's brother. In fact, all 16 trolling rods on the boat were made by him.

I was eavesdropping on the grandkids while they were running trains, and Kendra asked Jay if she thought they could stay another day or two. I think she would make a good "lake rat". We'll call her parents in the morning and see if she can stay a while longer and when she has to be back. I wouldn't mind staying myself. But, we still have some things to move up here to be done and make the move permanent.

It took almost 2 years to get the log house built. First the basement wasn't dug right, then the windows and doors wouldn't fit and the contractor had to tear the house apart. Then the original contractor quit. The factory sent a crew to finish the job. And of course with the winters up here, all work stops. Hard to get things done with 4 feet of snow on the ground.

Everyone has crashed for the night, 'ceptin' me, and I'm not far behind. There should be less traffic on the river and Mullet tomorrow. I may let Jay take us though lockage. He's done a pretty good job piloting and teaching everyone the rules of the "road" and how to read the electronics.

If I haven't mentioned it before, both Jay and Kendra are ROTC in their high school. The unit is sponsored by the Navy. So, I think that allowing them to helm the boat might be to their advantage some day. I know that the three kids were sure excited about getting some wheel time. Especially the two girls. Jay would never admit it though.

And everyone had a blast with the trains. Even Angela grabbed a controller. She hasn't done that in some time. I just sat back and watched, I did run a little, but it was more enjoyable watching everyone else. I just parked my consist in a siding and left it. lol I think my 11 hours was done or something like that.

Well, the Sandman is knockin' at the door. G'night all.

Bob
