No new TV yet. I'm still waiting for my nephew to come pick up the old one. It has to be out of the way first.

I probably won't be on tomorrow. I have to go to Alexandria in the morning for my 6 month eye exam. I'll likely be there most of the day.

Larry, what time you getting up Saturday?? I might just leave after work around 1am. That way I can be there by the crack of dawn. Do we have any places to go take pictures of trains??? :) Gonna be about 304 miles to you, should be hours or so.

Jerome, Thought U were bringing the wife along? We usually get up around 6am, but if we know what time you're arriving we can get up earlier. So far haven't found anyplace that trains run in this area. The closest place is in Dillsboro which is up on the top of the mountain & takes about 30 minutes to drive from here. We're going up that way tomorrow for some shopping & to take pics of really old buildings. I'll look. If you don't Gem mine around here there's not much to do.

Chris, I forgot about the train show in Palmetto in Feb. at the Convention Center on 301.
I usually make the one in Ft.Myers in November & then have to wait until Dec. for the show in Tampa(St.Pete). There use to be one every month from Nov. to April, but, I think most people are shopping on line & the shows got to expensive to try to fill up w/dealers close together. I check the Events calendar on the Model Railroader magazine web site every month to see if there's any changes.

Jerome,
Just talked to a guy that works for the Great Smkey Mtn RR & he said that the only train close to this area was in Bryson City.

Afternoon, everyone.

Chris, what's the top speed of your tractor? Any back roads we can use to get down to Larry's house? I'm glad to see you've reconsidered about Dan. I'm sure he won't do anything bad to any of your tractors that we can manage to start...or drag behind a truck. :) It sounds like Jacob could be useful in opening some doors for us. I'll bet he'd like me a lot if I had a nice big T-bone to offer him.

Tony, what kind of planes do you work on? I'm kind of a plane nut too. Dell desktops, at one time, were pretty well made. Now they are just pieces parts, using the same Chinese junk as everyone else. My bad experiences with Dell have all been laptops, including one that had the screen fail three times in three months. It took another month for them to finally take it back and refund my money. We need a lemon law for computers. Have a safe drive to West Virginia. There are lots of railroads along the way if you get time for some pictures.

BOC, I seem to remember something about Dan and the interstate but I can't recall the details. :D I told you to get some canoes. You could have been raking in the big bucks now with scenic canoe rides around Lake BOC.

Terry, that video was much too organized for us. I think you meant this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8WApqE0das&feature=fvw.

Afternoon, Phillip.

Jeffrey, an all day eye exam? Doesn't sound like much fun. :(

My tractor and the rest of my equipment will be at a safe house away from the drunks and I'm not going to let Dan make a scene again! Cook the T bone and smoother it in A-1 sauce add a loaded Bake potato and he'll go home with you!

Oh you guys are mean sometimes :(

Maybe I won't come now. Bunch of jerks.
:)

Did some volunteer work at the high school theater. We are lucky and a local community theater just did the show, and let use TAKE their set as they can't store it. And I am doing sound for the show, and finally getting paid for it. 400 bucks is nice for an unemployeed college guy.

Today is the first day for mandatory seat belts in Minnesota, and the cops can pull you over for that alone. Saw probably 5 people pulled over in a one mile stretch on the freeway today. Looks like they are enforcing it like no other! Luckily my father pounded it into me when I was younger to always wear one. Feel naked in a car without one.

:D Dan The boys are just funnin ya. Chris has been behaving since we opened the new coffee shop so's they gots to pick on someone and it must be your day in the barrel:). I have been in the barrel afore and it is not to bad provided your not in it all week like Chris usually is.

Happy Anniversary Ken.
How long ya been married? Mine is the 27th of this month & it's my 50th.

Good Evening--

Boy--an interesting day. Made one wanna go ---HMMMN:eek::confused::confused: I work from a downtown office where a lot of social workers go in/out. There is a little cubby hole of a coffee shop in that makes the perfect coffee---to wake up with. Anyhoooo----this poor guy, kind of confused was in there telling a friend of mine and myself that he was trying to figure something out. Anyway the gist of this is that he has been seeing two seperate schools of job counselling cropping up. One is telling him to keep going after what HE wants to do for a career. That he can relearn a lot of things and such. Fine. The other side now is saying---NAH!! It is all a pipe dream--just get a dang job--even if it is not suitable.:eek:
Then BOTH are telling him that HE is being negative for telling them what he hears from them!!:mad:
I'm hearing a lot of that too from these same people and others lately:confused::eek:
Another episode of "Panic Job Hunting for Panic Times":eek::mad::confused:

Now Dan. If'n you behave yourself and not try to climb Chris's next door neighbours house with the garden tractor like you did the last time I'm pretty sure that he'll let you ride one with him---;);):D:D

We'll be sitting by the lakeshore up here catching our own fish-----:D:D:D:D

Hiya gang, just had an ultraviolent T-storm pass thru here. There's debris all over my yard.

Tony and Larry[in FL.] - it's been 23 years for us so far. You guys both got me beat. Larry, that's quite an accomplishment to stay together 50 years - almost unheard of in today's "modern" culture.

Tuesdays are half-days for me at the office, so I spent the first few hours driving to MB Klein's to exchange a decoder for the Atlas GP40-2 I picked up on Saturday. As I was heading home on the beltway ~4pm, my cellphone rings. It was the secretary from my office [where I'm responsible for all IT-related issues], I'll call her "Hannah" (not her real name). The conversation went something like this:

Hannah: Are you aware that the web site is down?
Me: No, this is the first I've heard.
Hannah: Well, Cindy says she hasn't been able to upload any test data.
Me: And how long has this been going on?
Hannah: Since about noon yesterday.
Me: And you're just now telling me about it?
Hannah: Well, she just told ME...
Me: In that case, you can tell her: if she can wait 24 hours to tell me there's a problem, she can easily wait another 12 until I come back to work in the morning to fix it!

...Moral of the story: "Poor communication on YOUR part does NOT constitute an emergency on MY part." (Quoting a sign in a print shop where "loathar" on the MR forum used to work)
