Things in progress

The loading docks at the paper mill should be in pieces by noon tomorrow. It’s too small for the mill as designed now and too big for the tissue mill coming

The above 4 cars are almost ready for final approval. When I was testing the cars on the layout there are a couple wheel spots that need to be re-painted. They really stood out to Terry when she came down to approve them, she didn’t. These cars and 2 coil covers are heading to the Chicago area

These tank cars have been faded with some light weathering up next! 6 very modern era cars versus the one oldie but goodie. What a difference in size! These were faded last week before I got sick again. These are the last 6 of 36 modern tankers that will have some track spray on the end panels and a few tags added to each car. The large tankers are headed to So. California along with the final parts of a custom oil refinery I have been working on for almost 18 months and delivering pieces quarterly. But it’s all done now! We have been told it will be in a national magazine in 2026. I can’t show pictures of the refinery yet, but I will. The owner and his pick up truck will be here Tuesday next week

The 3 dome tanker with be weathered

You could keep one hatch clean/ whiter to make it look like a replacement. I've even seen them a different color like green (old BN hatch) so anything is possible to make it your own.
Funny, I was actually thinking a green hatch. On another car done recently I have a clean new white one. I have 31 cover hoppers with the long hatch and as I re-do the weathering on them I will have white and a couple other colors besides just weathered. It’s a fun dilemma

Three more grain cars done, each weathered differently. First 2 slight tone difference from first. Number 1 was done by airbrush, the body is done in light brown with some grimy black. Number 2 is airbrushed light brown and earth with a little grimy black. Number 3 is airbrushed the same as the first but added medium earth powder and dull coated to seal. All trucks are airbrushed with rust on the wheels, light brown and grimy black on the frames with light rust hand brushed highlighting springs and bearing caps.

As per your usual, excellent!

Looks good to me, maybe you should reject the client.
Never! Not enough clients are out there. He’s not being difficult but following my guidelines. If a client doesn’t like the weathering they need to let me know. I sometimes don’t read correctly what they are asking for and sometimes we both communicate poorly.

When it’s their cars they send me they get it their way! If I am selling one of my pieces they get it my way. It has worked out

i know its not rolling stock. but yesterday i did give weathering track a go.
I only did use 2 different powders from abteilung 502. i think it worked and it looks not that bad.
i still want to add some kind of oil in some spots, but dont know how i could achive that. any ideas?
