tooters scooters...

Tooter, need another Bobber caboose for your collection?

Ah, those old Overton passenger cars are still around. They are being re-released as Athearn. My LHS has old stock MDC/Roundhouse RTR cars.

I can't stand waiting for "new" releases... and instead go for the the old used Roundhouse stuff because they made a lot of old timer rolling stock. ;)

Very nice, Rico.

Did that Plymouth originally have glass in the windows? I see no indication of gaskets on the frames (which would normally have rounded inside corners).

Not sure if that's the original cab or not, could have been added on over time.
Might have had wood framed windows screwed in place at one time.
In spite of the oversize of the cab it is actually regular gauge by the way.

Hopefully some day, was hoping to bring it home before the snow but too late now.
Might actually have someone buying it this spring, I have another one waiting.

Wow, Rico... after looking at tiny models all the time, even something small that's real 1:1 standard gauge is HUGE!

I just got another little scooter off ebay... :)

It's an addition to a small collection of similar cars...

They are very finely made with nice details... better than I could ever do. ;)

Finally finished the tooter trolley... :)

It's a really old heavy diecast metal shell in which I installed a motorized chassis.

Started working on a set of HO scale Virginia & Truckee mining cars...

They're made by Comstock Carshops. These kits are diecast metal with a wooden floor and resin hopper. There are LOTS of nice robust diecast details... bolsters, operation handles, dump doors, brake wheels and hinged connector rods. They're suprizingly easy to assemble because everything fits together so well. There is barely a hint of flash on the castings they're so well done.

I'm planning on being able to run the ore cars and workers in and out of the mine on standard HO track with a small 23 ton industrial locomotive...

I can't wait to get them all painted and together. They're going to look swell! :)
