Topside Creeper

I will put one of them on the "would like to have at some point" list I think. Wish they were available from someone other than Micro Mark though.

Tony,
I believe there are several sources for these. Napa auto parts and other auto part suppliers carry the Traxion Foldable Topside Creeper. i have one on my wishlst but there are many items ahead of it.

Looks real nice, Tony. Wondering what your plans are for the water?

lasm,

Usually I use Matte Medium Gloss but this time I tried that Realistic Water - never again! It looks good, very glossy BUT is also very thin and does run like water. Wen I use the Matte Medium, I run a couple of pieces of painters tape across the end of the river and there isn't an issue with leaks or anything. This stuff cannot be contained and right now, I have one hell of a mess. If you have a "closed river or lake" then it would probably be okay but you will have to make 110% certain that EVERYTHING is sealed more than water tight.

All I can hope for is that this stuff dries quickly, at least to the point where it stops flowing.

Looks a lot better Tony. I thought I was the only one who had crap laying all over the layout.

Hell no Chet - my layout wouldn't be my layout if it wasn't covered with crap! :D I am concentrating on this side of the layout at the moment and am trying to complete it. I think I am (now) almost at that point unless anyone comes up with any additional ideas.

Must have been a storm recently. Tree blown into the road... muddy water...

:D:D:D:D

Seriously, looks really nice. :)

Thanks KB02 and I will have to take another look at the video, I thought I cleaned all that up :) Okay, I see where the tree is down, missed that one and the "muddy water" is actually fresh plaster - I redid the lake but your right, it does look kinda muddied up.

Have completed the re furbishing of the lake and stream leading from it, now it is time to add the detail to it, rocks, turbulence etc. This is what I "hope to" replicate in some fashion:

I will possibly be using Scenic Express Eater Gel for most of it together with Woodlands Rock molds. This should be interesting to do I think and a huge headache if it screws up :)

I have been adding tree's and ground cover to the Lake Side area as well as a little more lighting which is yet to be wired up. Once it is, I'll post up some shots.

With the exception of setting the lights and wiring them, this side of the layout is pretty much finished I think. While I am not completely happy with the water, I don't think it looks all that bad but could be better I think.

The water doesn't look bad at all Tony. Well done. appl.gif I do have one question. Did you leave your G scale locomotive out in the rain. Looks like it shrunk.

Thanks Chet and yeah - one rain storm too many :)

HA, good one CHET ...

What's up with the fishing lure on the porch roof? Is that supposed to be a sign?

Sherrel, that lure is suppose to be apart of the sign ... I'd never paid much attention to it until now though.

Looks good to me.

Thank you OldGuy, appreciate your looking.

Alan,

Thank you appreciate it. I am still working on the "rapids area", trying to get them to look right with "white water" but not having too much success at the moment.

Wow, I just noticed something - 50,000 views, are you guys nuts or something :D

Anyway, this afternoon I have been working on the electrical side of the Lake Side portion of the layout putting in the "Park Lighting" and redoing the pretty poor wiring for the building lights. Basically tidying it all up and using this as "practice", if you will, for when I decide to re do my Main Track Bus.

Each building on the Lake Side has at least one LED light source connected to a toggle switch so it can be independently turned on and off. Being able to turn each light on and off is nice BUT means extra wiring and that is not nice so far as I am concerned. As such, I am placing each building on its own toggle switch rather than each light.

I have been trying that Liquid Electrical Tape (LET) as well and it really does seem to work very well. A little messy if your not careful, but it does seem effective and is much neater and quicker than normal tape or heat shrink.

Hopefully I will have some "night time" pictures/video later this evening.

You do interesting things, of course you will get views.

I SCOURED videos for months before I found this forum and still scour for good ideas every day.

Every question I have had come to mind has been answered either by a video or the Great Masters on here!

Without the internet I would probably never heard of DCC for another 20 years! And it has helped me 'bash' thru many walls that would have stopped me from doing something as ambitious as I am!

A collective Thank You to the 'Train' collective is a daily-daily!
