Actually it looks like you may have got by a little "cheap".;) I used to work with Dr. James Kirklin, one of the developers/perfectors of the AICD, about ten years ago. Then the device alone was $250,000. This did not include the special sensing electrode, ventricluar patch and the atrial patch. Plus, since it was still experimental at that time, it wasn't covered by insurance.:(

Hi everyone.

Mike, I know what you mean about the gas prices. I just got a $450 bill from Chevron. It makes me feel great that the petroleum companies are making record profits, clearing BILLIONS each QUARTER.

Rex, Hate to hear about your storm mess. Just do what I do, forget it and say it looks "rustic". :D

As for LGM and I, we took my new girl, Suzi, out for dinner and a little train watching on the CSX tonight (this, after a full day of historic site hopping and train watching). Subway sandwiches by the CSX. Does it get any better??? ;)

Note the Subway wrapper. That one is history!

Mornin' Bill! Is that a Buick with the top down? Hope it was up when it rained.

grande man, nice wheels! I bet little grande man has fun railfanning with that too.

RT, WOW! Glad you have insurance even if there was some not covered. My Mom passed away last year. The funeral (the cheapest we could do) was over $7000. Ya can't afford to live, and ya can't afford to die.......... Very glad you still have your job. Here in NY I have to declare that I need hearing aids and have to take both an eye exam and a hearing test to keep my license. Last time I renewed the clerk asked me if I wanted to try to get the license without mandatory hearing aid use. I said, sure, why not. So I took out my hearing aids she turned her head sideways and said, "ann uel ma yuos felansssesh ubum". I gave her my home phone # and she said, Oh you hear OK.

I spent yesterday installing my new Super Radio Chief and setting up the old DB150 as a booster on the layout. Had to get more main bus wireing in place. Today I hope to install track feeders for the new portion of the layout that is in so far. Sometime next week the loconet cables and a bunch of UP5s should arrive and I can start running some trains to check the new trackwork. My other new toy is a Shure KSM27 large diaphram studio condenser mic for vocal recording. May try that out this afternoon with a customer. So between the hobby and my business, I am officially broke.

Later!

Hey, I was close! Couldn't quite make out the logo but knew it was a GM something. My Father's cousin (a well known farm machinery dealer) had a '59 Caddy. Until '62 when he gave it to his son and bought a '62 Caddy. Wrote a check for it! They were the "rich" Howard's and new cars were purchased every 2 or 3 years from petty cash.

William;

AICD Automatic Implantable Cardiac Defebrillator. Shocks the heart in case of a life threatening arrhymia. Nowadays I think they're just called internal defibrillators. They have gotten a lot more sophisticated than they used to be. They originally would just sense ventricular fibrillation, and relied also on a separate pacemaker for the heart. But now they sense all kinds of cardiac arrhymias and react according to preprogrammed parameters as well as some can act as a regular pacer. They are also about 1/2 they size they used to be. These have been a huge benefit to cardiac patients.

I sent you an E-mail about what to bring the construction day. Call me if ya need to.:)

*Collect your "tips" and "how-to's" for model railroading! You've got a week! I'm set to release a NEW website, specificly designed to host YOUR tips & how-to's. I'm just working out a few kinks in the script, and I have to register a domain for it also.

The concept behnd it is an articles section that allows the posting of How-to's. The how-to section is open to all users including guests, everyone can post and read, although we'd prefer you to register for that also. The forum is open to registered users and is in place to allow discussion of the articles. FAQ and how-to's are in place, and a Sample how-to has been uploaded.

Images CAN be uploaded to the server also, to aid in the how-to, and are prefered to be there, as it helps to illustrate the article. I have other websites to be released, on the first along with this one, and mid-month. Stay tuned!

Good morning crew,

It's a foggy Monday morning here in the Mid Atlantic region. Still recovering from hours of intense modeling concentration, trying to cover all the 'bare' spots on the layout so I can photograph it for the July clinic. Now I have to start thinking about my daytime job again.

Josh, I wish you luck with that HowTo/Tips website you're creating. Most of my ideas have already been discussed in magazine articles that I've read though, so I doubt I'll have much to contribute that isn't already widely known...

Later everyone,

Good Morning From the O'cast and Misty Eastern Shore.

Well that about sums it all up. Found out Friday that I will be going to St John's Newfoundland for a two week refit this Thursday. So I don't know what to expect weather wise, actually I do but it isn't printable. According to the Radar imagery they were getting extreme rain half an hour ago as it was showing deep purple in areas (200mm/hr) That's 8 inches!

Don't worry I can swim but will take my life jacket anyway.

Spent Friday afternoon packing up a 40 litre bucket with toolds and modeling kits so I'll be keeping myself out of mischief.
Well time to motor

Fergie

Doesn't really matter here, you can submit them anyways, I'm just trying to set up a free tips website here. All that matters is that you are not copying copyritten material, so don't go an download an article from ModelRailroader.com and submit it to me!

I'm trying to work on Article formats today to make a "printer freindly" article format.

Mornin' Bill! Yep it is Tuesday........ All day, I might add. Like the bevey of beauties you've been bringing lately. But, that Olds better get her top up soon. It's starting to rain here again and it would be a shame to see that plush upholstery get all wet.......:D
