Good morning y'all,

Just another half-day in the office. Since kids are on Easter Break, I hope to drive downtown to MB Klein's this afternoon and buy some Athearn vehicles - Ford "C" series trucks to be exact - to use as part of my planned propane gas dealership.

Fergie - guess you still need to do some weathering on the loco that Lisa gave you, eh?

Ken some pictures of the ballasting please, I've got to do that one day I guess.
Hmmmm, funny you should ask Ken: http://www.modelrailroadforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=24109&postcount=10

Later...

Hi gang! I sure didn't have much of a decision to make today on rather to work on the layout or enjoy the outdoors. It was 91 degrees!! I got 8 more turnouts down with about 30 more feet of track. This is the yard area and a big "B" to get it to come together at the throat. Still more to go.

FERGIE: Very nice...uh...Choo Choo!

Progress photo's please!! I must take some too, some yard track is laid but I've run out of turnouts and with the exchange rate looking not to good for me I'll just have to save and get one at a time from my LHS, just bought a curved Peco from there yesterday $34.00!! Ouch.

Ken.

Hey! I thought Bill was bringin' the doughnuts........??? Oh well, I don't need them anyway. Got to lose the weight I put on over Easter. Too many people think I need lots of candy and food, and I can never seem to say no.

Fergie, what a cute little loco. Does it come equiped with DCC? :D

Its been beautiful weather here in the Finger Lakes. Unfortunately, (or fortunately - I need the money) I have been stuck inside working with a local group setting down tracks for their first public CD. Actually it has been fun as I love stuff like this when its a type of music that I enjoy. This is very "folk-ish". A bit 60's with a lot of current stuff thrown in. Later tonight the director of a local choral group is stopping by and we will get to work on the mix of the Faure Requiem recorded on Good Friday at a local church.

Soooooo..... Haven't been able to do anything with the trains for a few days and probably won't till the weekend either. BTW, where is everybody? this is only the second post today and it is almost 6:30 PM here.

Bill posted the doughnuts in the word for 4/19 or was it in the quote for 4/19 thread. Heavens I just looked and cannot remember, what was I ttalikn bout

Hey Mabel, may I get a cup of Joe like I got yesterday when I stopped by????

Yeah, it was lukewarm and strong as used motor oil.

Honestly Mable, coffee in a cup, not poured on my head, one of Bill's fresh chocolate covered doughnuts and your smile is a good start to this day.

Rex- you realize WORK is a four-letter word, not to be modified with adjectives your mother would not approve of.
Proper adjectives are mostly compound, like: track-laying work, engine tuneup work, and scenery detail work. With these modifications, WORK becomes a three-letter word, FUN.
Well, I have to return to some of the improperly modified work so I can indulge in one of my other hobbies, eating regularly!

Thanks, Mabel, for a pleasant experience today! ;)

Good day everyone! Finally got back in here to drop a note to you. I believe a cheeseburger and fries would do well about now. How about it Flo...wow!...nice looking mini you have on...errr, sorry...I meant shorts (dang teasers).

Pnkfloyd: Ahhh! Thanks Mikey, the use of the word "work" is usually a Freudian slip for me, now that I am retired. You are quite correct that it is wrong to modify it with other four letter words when referencing "fun" within the hobby. How about: mind-boogling, nerve-twisting, finger-poking, facial-distorting, trackwork. :D :D

NZKen: Well...I guess that I can move the glue bottles and piles of tools and try to post my work progress this weekend. It is nothing to brag about yet, but you will be able to at least see how the track will run. I sure will be glad to get the track down in this area to at least run trains in. I am not worried about scenery and will probably only have a few buildings and place-markers for awhile. Soon as it is operational, I will get back to my signal project.

:D Rex- with that much modification, just "plain" work would be more fun!
It is more fun to talk about that type of work in the past tense than in a future tense.
Mikey

Well guys I've been telling the guys across the tracks whats been going on so I guess its time to tell you all although some of you know from across the tracks

When i got my defibillator I didn't know that it will basicly put me out of a job as it makes my cdl invalid it disquailfies me to drive a truck. Also should it go off I will lose my personal drivers license for a period of 3 months or at least a period of 3 months with out it shocking me again

That stinks RT. I have a friend who lost his CDL's because he is diabetic. It cost him about $5,000 a year in income because he only drove a school bus for the athletic program. I also had a friend who had one of those defibillator things and he told us if he went down on the golf course do not let the EMT,s use the paddles on him as he had alredy been shocked 3 times in about 20 seconds or so. They are a great life saving tool but sure can mess up a persons earning abilities.

Traffic is slow...

Mabel, I figured out why traffic is so slow at the Coffee Shop this morning.
Gas has gotten so high that people cannot afford to drive their computers by to get a cup and a little conversation.;)
Now, I have to figure out how to convert my old car to woodburning steam power!:(

Hello gang! Are you ready for a good weekend? I thought I was going to have one free of honey-do's. Yeah, I spent yesterday and today in the yard doing mowing, trimming and edging. Really beautiful...and then...here comes a whopper thunderstorm this afternoon  . Now I have limbs and leaves all over the place. Even had a 6" diameter limb break off and tear the screen on the back porch:mad: . Oh well! We have many more storms on the way so it will all have to wait until tomorrow.

What the heck! It's time to go out to the depot and play.:D

Rex- Bummer on the flying limbs! Don't want to model that on your railroad!
Your thunderstorm must be the dark clouds I see on the western horizon.
Hope you don't have any more damage from the weather.
I need to get home and close the trainroom windows, horizontal rain in no fun!
Enjoy your weekend everybody.

Rex hope those storms don't get to bad. We're having a second summer over here, brilliant warm weather.
I've had the most stressful week at work so I'm taking three days off next week, I bet the weather will turn to ....

My train layout? what train layout? all I've been doing is the new bathroom.
GRRRRR, well it's almost done, next will be our ensuite for a new shower!!

Got to keep the Mrs happy.:D

After and Before shots!!

Mornin' Bill! Looks like the doughnuts are gone today. Oh well I need to get back on my diet anyway.

NZRMac, I see you are having showers there too. Lookin' good BTW! We will get about an inch of rain today in the Finger Lakes, so this may be a good day to get some yard work done (down cellar..... that is).

Well it turns out that I still have a job:) . But heres a real jolt for you my acual hospital bill

Okay guys here we go I just looked at the Hospital Bill and it breaks down like this
1 day Intensive care $ 2,826
Pharmacy $ 813.83
Laborastory $ 164.00
Radiology/diagnostic $ 233.00
Anesthesia $ 243.50
Supplies/implants/devices $ 72,164.50

total $81,592.83
man Give me that kind of cash and I would make one heck of a layout in O gauge that woudn't end

wife might be a little upset as it would buy a nice home in some markets but heck I would never get a chance to have a train layout like that again lol:D
