Carey,

Might not be "Oldtimers disease". Could be the dreaded "Partzheimer Disease". Mom used to warn me about that all the time, when she could remember!

Darrell, I think I'm quiet, yup, quiet...for now
PHartzheimer (fartsheimer... from my Grandpa, the only one I ever knew).

How about all the above?????

Well time to go to bed. Haven't felt well all day. Can't stay outta the "library" if ya know what I mean.

Good Morning Everyone

Well the ride into work was fast as I had a tail wind, however it was wet! Anyway I see there were weather warning right across the board last night with a lot of Tornado warnings issued. Hard to believe we'd get this in November! A good month to be tied to the wharf.

Well tonight I check out a layout that a widow is trying to sell as her son wants to make way for a race track (slot cars). I've been told there's lots of gear but won't know exactly is there, actually I don't have a clue as to what is there except the gentleman that owned it was meticulous. So here's wishing me luck!

I'm glad I'm not the only one ith a faltering memory and I'm only in my mid forties!

Next one's on me

Fergie

PS Willis: are you going to the show this weekend at the Dartmouth Sportplex?

Hi all,

Hope those of you in Alabama fared OK in last night's storms, that same 'wall' is ready to crash into the Mid-Atlantic region. Let's see, a 20-degree temperature drop combined with 30mph winds...guess I better dig my thermalwear out of storage!:D

Not much time for MRR this coming weekend, but I do hope to pickup a pair of turntable kits from Kleins on Saturday morning. I need to assemble and install those before I can resume work on the layout.

Rex/Claudia/Darrell - I never use the "remember me" feature because it always eventually fails and then I forget what my password was, entering it forces me to remember it.

Fergie - hope you find lots of 'treasures' on your visit tonite!

Flo, large coffee please.

Mornin all. We survived that nasty little line of weather ok. Everyone else make it thru alright? I sure hope so.

I've been running a crew of contractors at work at night this week, so we haven't done alot on the RR. I'm looking forward to the weekend though!

Anyone have any special weekend plans?

Morning everyone. Big coffee, and some pepto please Flo.

The storms came throught here about ten last night and were short but severe. I got some more limbs down out of my trees, but nothing else. According to my clocks we lost power for about three hours during the night, but not sure what time. I slept thru the outage. Gotta reset them all.

Between the hurricanes this year and last nights storms you'd think I wouldn't have any tree limbs left but I still have some. Just wish they were hardwoods. Got plenty of pine but that's not good to burn in the fireplace. The weather feels good now with the sun brginning to break out.

This weekend plan to try to finish up the basement, and get to the McWane Center to help move the club's layout down to the main floor for the holiday display we're putting on. Gonna be fun.

Ya'll have a good day now, ya heah!

No storm damage here. It did pile the leaves and pine straw a foot thick on the yard. I am glad that we got the rain since we have only had 4 light showers in 40 days.

I got up this morning and felt like everything was in slow motion. Went out to the Depot and looked over the layout, but still couldn't get any motivation to do anything. Then, I got on the computer, came here, and started reading the posts. It is strange, but this has stirred up that funny feeling you get when you are excited and now I am ready to build an empire;). Does this happen to you?
(Now if I can just get out of here :D )

KenL: Good idea having to enter the password each time. I think it helps to clean away the cob webs from the seldom used and rusting filing cabinets.:D

Claudia: I check the "remember me" box, but for some reason it doesn't. If no one else is having a problem, it could be something with my Firefox browser although I don't have a problem with other sites. It's not a big deal, but it would be handy. Thanks

Remember me works for most folks, so it may have something to do with Firefox. It's a cookie setting, so maybe if you tell it that cookies from this site are OK that will fix the problem.

Usually when folks have that issue they're using some sort of "web eraser" program that deletes all traces of the sites you visit, say in case you were to mistakenly click on "Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Photos" when you really meant to click on "Stock Reports". They do stuff like delete cookies, which causes forum amnesia.

If you're using that kind of program, many of them have setting to allow cookies from certain sites. If so, try using that.

TWO turntables? Obviously you've got a much larger layout space than I do...

Then again, maybe not - they're small ones (90-footers). I'm adding them because, even though I'm a "diseasle" modeler, I may have guests who want to do some point-to-point operating, and I'd like to offer them something other than the "Hand Of Providence" for turning their Mikes or Berks around!;)

Hello All,
password problems, don't mention password problems, i have about 7 different ones just for my job, if i could use the same one for all applications it would be great, but i can't.
Bricks coming tommorow, my friends a builder and i help him out at times, brick works pretty easy once you have done a bit.
Weather here has changed big time, last week it was raining like heck but it was T-shirt warm, todays it's freezing cold and i had to break the ice off the car just to get in, there is a nice full moon out now with not a cloud in sight so frosty again in the morn. time for a brown ale and bed i think.

Gemma made my day! What a sweetie-pie!!!!

Here's a chuckle for you guys --- courtesy of "Cousin Ruth."

THE PERFECT MARRIAGE

1. Two times a week, we go to a nice restaurant, have a
little beverage, good food and companionship.
She goes on Tuesdays, I go on Fridays.

2. We also sleep in separate beds.
Hers is in California and mine is in Texas.

3. I take my wife everywhere.....
but she keeps finding her way back.

4. I asked my wife where she wanted to go for our
anniversary. "Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!"
she said.
So I suggested the kitchen.

5. We always hold hands.
If I let go, she shops.

6. She has an electric blender, electric toaster and electric
bread maker.
She said "There are too many gadgets and no place
to sit down!" .. So I bought her an electric chair.

7. My wife told me the car wasn't running well because
there was water in the carburetor.
I asked where the car was; she told me "In the lake."

8. She got a mud pack and looked great for two days.
Then the mud fell off.

9. She ran after the garbage truck, yelling "Am I too late
for the garbage?" .... The driver said "No, jump in!"

10. Remember: Marriage is the number one cause of divorce.

11. I married Miss Right. I just didn't know her
first name was Always.

12. I haven't spoken to my wife in 18 months.
I don't like to interrupt her.

13. The last fight was my fault though.
My wife asked "What's on the TV?"
I said "Dust!"

(I'm not responsible for any consequences you face if your wife shares your computer. :D)

Two questions for you:

1) Wye?

2) Hey, if being picked up and set on the track is good enough for the Reading 2100, why are they so picky?

;)

Hey there Flo. How about a nice hot Lemonade to soothe my throat? Don't get too close, don't want ya to get what I seem to be getting. Haven't been sick with fever or congestion in over five years. Losing me voice too. I know some of the fellas will sure be glad of that. I get a part time job and see what happens to me. Ain't there 2 months and I get sick. :(

Had a little trouble earlier today with a post I tried to put up in the Layout planning forum and had some problems with the attachments, then when I tried to correct it I wound up deleting most of the post. Tried to delete the whole thing so I could fix it and it wouldn't let me.:confused: I sent an e-mail to the head of this outfit, I'm sure he'll tell me how to avoid that problem in the future.

I got it fixed just a while ago. You boys go out there and see what I got planned! I think you'll like it, Rex can't wait to run on it!;) I know he just wants to dump my brass 2-6-6-6 into the pit like I did his 4-6-6-4.:D

Thanx for the lemonade there Flo. Gotta get home to supper. My wife is fixing me some hot chicken soup tonight for supper. Hope it makes me feel better.

Foot, I'll just ask here. Modelbob how do you delete a post in a thread or even the thread you've started when no one has had a chance to post in it yet.

Evening all.....Flo I'll take a cold glass of water please.
Well we dodged the bad weather last night, but its going to get cold tonight.
cj - I hope you get to feeling better soon, you've got to be well and ready for the game Saturday. :)

Everyone take care.

Stan.

Well I checked it out and there was a lot of lower and older end stuff. By the looks of it the guy was into the joy of running his trains and had a lot of blue boxes, two mantua steamers and a couple of IHC's, lots of cars and buildings. I bought an IHC 4-8-2 (one of there better ones IMHO). She wanted to give it to me but I gave her some $ for the loco and cars. She'll give the rest to the local club. My feeling was she just wanted a good home for the layout and all that went with it.

I told her the Mantua's may be worth something and not to give them away. Does anyone have any ideas what a 4-6-2 and a 2-8-2 mantua is worth?

Well all you seem to be content sending us the rain... Thanks!

Time for bed

Later all

Fergie

Earlier when trying to post it I had a major problem with the attachments and tried to fix them but then the computer messed up the body of the work. (Its never our fault is it?) Since I had something like 5 views I didn't want anyone to stop looking but I didn't want them to feel "gypped" either. When I went to delete it and start over there was no way to delete it, just edit. So for a while today there was nothing there.
I really was asking how to delete in case it happened in the future.
