Fergie: The 601 taking an 8% grade is fantastic and even more so with the 18"rad. She really is beautiful...now that you cleaned up Bob's mess :D . My Lionel Challenger had a problem with the front pilot derailing when nothing else would. Most of it was caused by tiny kinks in the track joints, but I also removed the spring under the pilot and let it float. Now the only thing that derails are my *()*#@!! Walthers Budd passenger cars.

KenL: Was Jacon12 in the coffee shop across the street when he asked about me? I couldn't find his post. I did notice (other than the troll) an improvement in the topics over there. Almost like it use to be.

Still like the overall atmosphere better here.

*yawn* talk about a crappy weekend... Double shot of expresso & cream please... I got this annoying cold, I think its the AC unit in my room, it doesn't affect me @ work, and if the window is open and AC off, the runny nose is fine, but otherwise, GRRRR.

Going to Wally world this week to get soem flat Testors paints, for detailing, I like how smooth they are, and how fast they dry, little running, no need for many coats... Need silver, black (2nd back up bottle), blue, red, yellow, maybe some 'weathering' colors... Already have sea blue, sky blue, white, and other various military colors (od green, tan, brown...). Can anyone come up with colors I may need?
Oh yeah, maybe a few artists oils too, to weather a F89F flat, and a GT 60' Autoparts Box.

Oh, anyone need a 600W amp for their car audio needs? Kenwood, should work (havn't used it in over a year).

Rex, he sent me an email. I was responding to dragonriversteel [on the WPF thread] that there were more 'steel' modelers over there than just he, Eddie and myself, so I mentioned you as well. I suggested to Jarrell that he come over here, which he did - I've seen 6 posts from him already, including a reply to your gorge post.

BTW I spoke with TEFFY last night, he sends his regards to all. I wouldn't hold my breath about him joining here soon though - he says that between this new job of his and the Rita cleanup, his free time is effectively ZERO:(

Later everyone...

Flo, gimme a big cup to go along with a danish, and a doughnut. Gotta go to work.

For everyone in Al, Ms, Ky, Tn, & Ar. Just read the discussion for the SPC, (Storms Prediction Center). We all are under risk for severe storms today with the highest risk in Ar, Tn, KY, MS. This includes possibility of long track tornadoes, high winds and hail.

After these pass thru our area tonight and tomorrow, temps will fall into the 20's for lows and 40's for high's. Looks like summer is finally over.

Long range output for Thanksgiving shows lows in the teens for part of next week including Thanksgiving Day. (This still is speculation but will occur if all the parameters hold together).

My wife and about twenty others from her church will be headed down to Bay St. Louis Ms, next week to assist in the general cleanup still going on from Katrina. New Orleans has recieved most of the publicity from the storm but they still need help there. They will also be serving the community there Thanksgiving dinners on Thursday. If the name sounds familiar Bay St. Louis is where Huricane Camille came ashore in 1969. Katrina did worse damage than Camille.

I've got that book somewhere...:D

We went Saturday afternoon. I let LGM hunt, I ended up sitting around watching trains on the CSX all afternoon ;) I've been this route before, huntin ain't crap till after Christmas.;)

Well let me help! You'ld have to be blind to miss this one!

afr.sized.jpg

Sure to impress the better half at Christmas:D

Rex: The only detraction with the Genisis Challenger is the Orange LED's they use in the head light. This is one area that both BLI and Life Life pick up bonus points! But nothing' perfect and with the way LED's are going I will probably do a retrofit of the light over the next while... maybe. As for the LL 2-8-4, I've weighted the pilot truck, which made it better but it still skips. There is no spring, which I'm wondering if there should be but never got put on. I say this because the majority of most engines has a spring loaded front pilot wheel. Any thoughts?

Ken: Not knowing what kind of case you'll be hearing it's hard to say. If it was me and they were going to put me in seclusion I'd be taking a few kits with me. I can't stand not keeping my fingers active!

As for Teffy he'd make a good addition to this place, not saying this isn't a great place to start with. He just adds that "bit of colour " to a place.

Anyway time to go

Later

Fergie

Gee, I must be the first for lunch. Flo, just give me the special today with a piece of that delicious lemon cream pie.

Ken: I saw Jarrell's post and thank you. It is good to have another "good guy" over here.

Ken/Fergie: Now to work on Teffy. I know he has his hands full, but from talking with him in the past, I know he would get a lot of enjoyment out of this forum. I will give him a call soon and we can hit him from all sides ;) .

Fergie: Are you sure the pilot derailing is caused by the pilot or is it being caused by the drivers? I know that may not make sense, but if they make a slight jump/bump it will cause the pilot to jump and it being the lightest, it will come off first. Take a look and see if the drivers are still lined up on the rail when this happens. You may want to post this over on the HO subforum and get everyone in on this. There is always a fix.

CjCrescent: Who's the learnee? My goodness folks...you decide. I asked him for a philips screwdriver and he hands me one that didn't even have the motor installed in it. Can you believe? Must be a danged University of Auburn graduate.:D

Good Afternoon Everyone, anybody seen my wallet? Flo, would you please make me a fried peanut-butter & banana sandwich,Hot-damn tamale' man, I feel like the king!

Just what time of year is season for Lawn-deer? I have a whole herd of 'em in my neighborhood every year. Seems they start to congregate just after Thanksgiving. And if you ask me, They need to be thinned out. It's gonna be hard to track 'em after tonight, we're do for 3-6 inches of snow(covers the tell-tale extension cords). By the way, whatja' bag 'em with, a wire-cutter or just a big ole' power surge? Are you gonna have it mounted? I hit one with my car once, he was still lit up for nearly a block!
Well, I gotta' go, Flo, Could you make it 2 of them sandwiches, All this Holiday talk is makin' me hungry.

Johnny

Hello All, Concrete came and went in today, bricks come on Thursday so it's time to get on with the walls at weekend.
Fergie
He just adds that "bit of colour " to a place.
What's wrong with PINK, you make the place come alive with your choice of colours,

anyone fancy a bottle 'O' dog, (Newcastle Brown Ale), just got a nice cold one owt the fridge.

My friend went to a show with his miNor scale layout last weekend, a kid leaned on it and it fell over, smashing it to bit's, whoops, i have told him in the past it was to light and trouble would be coming his way, oh well at least it was insured

Looks like T-town is in for a rough night with bad storms and tornadoes forcast. It always seems to get here late in the night.

Question: Is it just me or does the "remember password" work? Also, why does it take so long to get a notification of a topic post (many hours)?

KENL: I meant to tell you that I was bitten by the same Werewolf a couple of weeks back. Yup! I had the same WHITE growth pop out on my face. But, I found a cure today. There is some medicine made by Gillette :D

Steve: Glad you got the pour made. Are you going to do the brick laying?

Johnny:Eating lawndeer can be hazardous, but it would be an electrifying experience  .

Take care in the weather tonight, Rex. It looks like most of it is going to miss us.

Auburn graduate...how dare you!  I've been insulted before but.....

I think the next time I come over I'll lay some track crooked or something;) ;) ;)

Oh, I know what I'll do! This time I'll put the 1218 into the pit along with the Challenger.:D :D :D That'll teach ya!

So, you cut off that "fungus" on your chin. Gee, I thought it made ya look more intelligent!:p :p (insert evil laugh here).

Really though I want you to take care tonight. Those storms in Ms, appear to be getting stronger with more rotation showing up. The second line that has the cold front with it, has severe storms as far south as Houston, Tx. They weren't supposed to get much of anything according to the discussion on their local NWS station. This has surprised them. As of 6 PM there already were 48 confirmed tornadoes nationwide.

I suspect that the weather will be getting real bad between 9 and midnight tonite. Highs tomorrow are forecast to be in the 40's for here and since the highs were in the 80's today in T-town and here, tonight could be worse that forecast. You can bet I'll have my NOAA radio set up.

Just in case it gets real bad, Flo gimme three thermos of coffee to go. I may not sleep well tonight.

Thanks CJ. Stay safe.

Gman: Either my Geography is bad or you have the cell that was in Lamar county headed your way.

Yeah, definitely yall be careful. If the cell from Lamar is headed toward Blount-Cullman watch it close, earlier it had dropped a tornado over near Columbus, MS and damage was reported.

I haven't heard of any problems with the "Remember Password" feature. I think there's a "remember me?" checkbox when you log in. Let me know if that's not working and I'll look into it further.

As for e-mail notifications, yep, they're running late for everyone. I'm sure it's causing Bob no end of delight. ;)

Oh Geeze, I think I broke my middle finger, either that, or, um, well its not supposed to bend that way.

Wal*mart run today, $14.95:
View attachment 2098

Good haul, but um, I dropped a testors silver somewhere in the store, by the time I got to the cash register, I only had 5 testors bottles, I started with 6... Oh well, they're selling out testors paint for some reason, I think they're replacing it with "house of color" (the auto paint dudes) paints. I doubt the orange will be worth much, maybe a base coat for BNSF orange...

Got weathing colors, including different tones of white...

EDIT BTW GO TO WAL*MART, that 25 peice brush set, was only $4.47!!! its on sale, I'm tempted to go buy a 2nd one.

Nothing wrong with your geography, they updated the forecast to include us. Didn't want us feeling left out, I guess. Originally, I heard Walker and Cullman counties but Blount is included now. :(

Looks like they now have over half the state under tornado watch. We got severe storms moving out of Tuscaloosa County into Jefferson, Cullman, Blount counties. Its gonna be here in Hoover in the next twenty minutes or so. There are already reports of numerous trees down, and scattered power outages in western part of the state. Hope we don't loose ours.

NWS had issued wind warnings for the lakes in the area, Thunderstorm and tornado watch for a good part of the night and a Freeze warning for tomorrow night already. Talk about some weird weather! High temp on my backyard thermometer was 84 today. The NWS says high here tomorrow will be 49. They are already saying its gonna be even colder next week.

Claudia: I check the "remember me" box, but for some reason it doesn't. If no one else is having a problem, it could be something with my Firefox browser although I don't have a problem with other sites. It's not a big deal, but it would be handy. Thanks

I have the same trouble. Its not really annoying or anything I just sometimes have to think about what my password is. I have so many between all the different systems I have passwords for, I can't always remember what this one is. My daughter says it has to do with me getting "Oldtimers disease".

Carey,

Might not be "Oldtimers disease". Could be the dreaded "Partzheimer Disease". Mom used to warn me about that all the time, when she could remember!

Darrell, I think I'm quiet, yup, quiet...for now
