Evening all, Flo I'll have a cold glass of water please.
I'm finally making good progress on the train room, should have it finished this weekend.
KenL - I know what you mean about the visitors, we will have a house full Thanksgiving Day. Sure will be nice to be off from work.
Rex - Big game Saturday, hope we can pull it out. ROLL TIDE !!
grande man - cjcrescent.......Alabama fans ?

Everyone have a great evening.

Stan.

Hi Stan, haven't seen you here much lately - must've been working mighty hard on that trainroom! ;)

Well today was another one of those exhausting days at the office, between systems going down and upper management making clueless demands. After being angry at work all day I have zero energy for working on the layout.
My favorite psychology professor once said that contnetment begins when one can accept that "life is not always fair." But that's so much easier for me to do when I'm NOT the one getting screwed!

Good nite everyone

Glad to hear that so many are making progress on their layouts and layout rooms, etc. I have been caught in the "blues vortex" for months and just haven't been keeping up with anything. I am slowly making progress in some areas. Carolyn started raking leaves last week and sort of shamed me into helping. Three days of raking and bagging, raking and bagging. I thought it was silly because the ONLY tree in the neighborhood that had no leaves was ours. Well, we got all OUR leaves picked up, but Mother Nature and 5 days of stiff breezes have denuded most of the other trees in the neighborhood and kindly deposited most of them in our yard! It's worse than before! When the winds die down a bit, I'll get out the bagger and shredder and have it cleaned up in an afternoon, unless Carolyn starts raking again!

I've also framed up a bunch of pictures, paintings and documents and gotten them hung around the house. And I finally put up the shelves that Carolyn has been bugging me about for the last few months (not really my fault! Every time she said something about them, I asked if she had decided where she wanted them and she said NO. How can you hang shelves if you don't know where they go?) But now they're up and filled with nick-nacks.

And I've been slowly clearing some of the junk, er, I mean, STUFF, that has been accumulating in my train room so I can actually stand in front of my layout again! With Thanksgiving coming up, I guess I'll have to make an extra hard effort to get the trains running again, something that hasn't happened for along time! Maybe then I'll be able to get going again with all the projects I've got planned, including a new layout.

I've overstayed myself again with this long post, so I'll just head out the door, leaving behind my best wishes for eveyone's continued progress (and a tip for the hard-working waitresses!)

Darrell, quiet...for now

Good Morning All. Flo you look nice today. I'm not very hungry, could I get 3 eggs over easy, a stack of cakes, side of bacon, hashbrowns with onions and cheese, a couple a pigs in a blanket and some cornbread please? Oh I'm sorry Sir, I thought you were Flo. Nevermind.

I'm tired of staring at it I'm going to do it. The voices in my head had the following conversation.

VIMH(voice in my head):Go ahead It'll look cool.

Me(Me):But NOBODY ever had one.

VIMH:They could have. And you should have the ONLY one.

Me:But the CNW never even had this type of Loco.

VIMH:Right you are, I trust you're not going to let 'em get away with that.

Me:But what will the nitpickers think?

Vimh:That your an idiot.

Me:That settles it...............I'll do it!

Going home to work on this one now. Good to see you all, Hope you find some time to model today.

Thanks for the coffee Flo, could I get something to go?

Johnny

Morning everyone! Sabrina (Flo IS kinda hard to pick out from that group of hungry miners on their way to work :D ), I'd like a western omlet, and of course, a large coffee.

Darrell, I've never understood the craze to clean up leaves. They're part of what I love about the Fall. I'm with you, clean up only if the trees are bare.

Johnny, If you can take "modelers liberty", I'm in the clear to do anything I want! :D Seriously, best wishes on your new project. We'll be waiting for the pics.

CJ, When is football season over? I'm ready to run some trains. ;)

GM:
You really know that football season is over when people begin to show up in here all glassly eyed & depressed. They'll look at the team jersey they're wearing and you'll see a little tear forming in the corner of their eyes while they mumble something about August and only film to review til then.

That's when football season is over.

Hi Gang! Yes, it is a beautiful Friday and it is going to be an exciting weekend in Tuscaloosa. Oh, boy! Bama plays LSU and if we don't have all our cards in the deck, we will get murdered:eek: .

Stan: I certainly hope BAMA was only trying to hide secrets in their last few games. Otherwise and after tomorrow, we will end up going to the "Cow Pie" Bowl game.

Johnny: I sure am glad you weren't hungry this morning. Oh, don't worry about the rivet counters. If they make a count and find you short one, just tell them it rusted off.

Darrell: The only thing I hate worse than a post-hole digger is a rake. I coughed up the money last year and got a bagger for the mower and like you said, "...and have it cleaned up in an afternoon." Best investment for my lazy b..t.

Grandeman: What about me?

CJ: See you 11ish, tomorrow. Don't forget your hardhat and steel toed boots:D.

EDIT: WELL, IT SHOULD BE FRIDAY:o :D

I'm hoping we'll all get together. You know you've got an open invitation.:) I talked with Ray earlier this week, he want's ya'll to see his RR too! Let me know, we'll make a day out of it.

That sounds like a winner, Eric. After the Auburn game, I should be able to make it most anytime. Since you will be hunting, would a Sunday afternoon be best?

Flo, a diet mountain dew please.
Darrell - My yard is full of leaves, and so are the trees. Its a never ending battle.
KenL - I finally abandoned the garage project. I think I'll put my work shop in there. After talking it over with the CFO I've come up with a better place to build another layout. I was going with HO for a second layout, but now it looks like O scale. Got to much invested in O to quit now.
grande man - Football season is " Never " over. :)

Take care.

Stan.

Any Saturday will be fine. We need to make the round robbin group meetings a regular thing.

We were in your neck of the woods today. I took a vacation day and went to our former hunting lease to pick up our old camper. I wanted to give you a call, but we had to get that beast home before dark and were running late.

To some people, raking leaves is a religion. For me, it's not part of a craze, it's a necessity! We get so many leaves that blow in from around the neighborhood. A few years ago, I blew them all into a long pile at the edge of the alley and left them there (we can't burn them around here!). They sat there all winter. In the spring, it was a wet, matted mess, killed the grass underneath it and was harder to clean up than in the fall! I'll never do that again unless I want to plant a garden. It softens up the soil nicely!

I bought a cheap electric shredder last spring and my mower has a bagger on it, so between the two, I can pick up and shred leaves and grass and bag it up for the trash. It will take me longer than one afternoon, though. I walked around the house today and there's more leaves in the yard now than when we raked tham up a week ago! And there's still more leaves in the neighbor's trees that haven't come down yet!

Darrell, no more raking, and quiet...for now

Grandeman: Wish you would have had more time. I was around and putting waves on the creek water today.

A round robin thing would be fun. All we have to do is get CJ off his ... and start clearing his basement. But, we could go to the Wrecking Crew's hideout. when it's his round.

Rex, Rex, Rex;
You can't blame that on me!;) You were the one who has refused to supply me with a couple o' large construction type dumpsters ta git my wifes junk outta th' basement so I kin git mine in ther'.:D

OK, now I can say "Happy Friday"!:D
Hope you stay safe and have a good one. Flo, I am on the run so just a cup to go and I am outa here.

Morning Flo, You got a twin brother? Nevermind. Could you me give the works, blend it up and put 'er in a 'to-go' cup please? I'm flyin' today.
Can't stay guys, goin' down to Madison to stir things up a bit. It's quiet down there...............TOO quiet. I'll show 'em. I'm stopping at Rock Springs anybody want a rock? Fine, suit yourselves. Have a great Friday(again if your celebrating twice this week)(Rex). Be SAFE hunting.

Thanks for the soup Flo, How much? Hey....................Anybody see my wallet?

Johnny
