C'mon, both Pittsburgh and PSU lost on last second plays...
Yeah, and to top it all off, my high school team lost 32-33 thanks to a TD by the opposing team with 0:00 left on the clock

On a happier note, my auctions that ended over the weekend were a big success :D Some went for (a lot) more than I would've ever guessed. </boasting> So Grande Man, you have enough left after the show for some hoppers? Let me know what you want, and make an offer...

LT is up to 18 straight on the TD run, think he can take the record with 19? He's got 3 touchdown passes this year too.

Anyways, Airshow was boring, saw soem HUGE lenses on camera's, watched a C5 spill 500+ gallons of fuel on the taxiway, and drove 3 cars in a 12 hour work day.

EDIT P.S. fine on drinks, got away with a free 12 pack of Mt Dew & Seira Mist...

Grande man, have you ever seen the Wrecking Crew's (club) layout? If not, you are in for a treat today.

It just keeps getting better!

It was great to see you and meet your wife today, Rex. I had doubts about going to the show on Sunday but it was great. We saw several folks we know and had a blast. We also scored four new decoders and a gaggle of freight car kits.

Carey, let me know if the TCS decoders you bought work. Both the Digitrax boards we got, of course, work great. I couldn't get either TCS board to program. :( I'll try to get in touch with Keith and see if he's got any tips to get them working.

Grande man,

I'll let ya know when I get them installed. One's going in a SRR F-1 4-6-0 from PFM and the other's going in a Westaide Ma & Pa 0-6-0. Shouldn't have a problem programming with the Decoder pro, providing it'll read 'em.

I kept getting a "no-d" warning on the DT400. I've got a post up on the Digitrax Yahoo group. Maybe someone there can steer me in the right direction.

Awwww Bummer! Here I was thinking of you and feeling green with envy. My daughter and granddaughters and I watched from a bluff across the 805 freeway. This was prob'ly the last time we'll be able to see much from there --- the landfill has risen another 15 feet or so, just since last year.

Hi folks! Sorry to be late for both breakfast and lunch, but went through the weekend with ups and downs of my internet again. This time I blasted the cable company with both barrels and just short of using 4 letter words. Don't know for sure if they got it fixed permanently or not, but I can guarantee their ears are still ringing.

Well, Grande man I didn't get out of the show empty handed, but at least I didn't need a shopping cart like you did :D. Great seeing you and LGM again. We too, enjoyed the show very much. I turned around to say something to my wife and she had taken off across the room looking, looking, and talking. Boy! She had a ball.:)

Ken: I found the coke pictures by you and Tom Casey, but haven't found the ones of your visit to SpaceMouse territory. You have done and incredible job building the coke pusher. Where did you find the plans?

This is my trophy from yesterday's train show. A Spectrum undecorated Baldwin 2-8-0 to do my coal mine switching. I will add a standard decoder for now and sound later. (love that sound)

BIG cuppa joe for me please mam!

Boy am I dragging. I haven't been able to play with my treasures from the show yet! My sweet wife MUST be feeling better. She took off to work today and apparently because I went to the train show here yesterday, she left me a Honeydo list. My heart sank when I saw it! She bought some bulbs and trees months ago from a nursery that won't ship until its time to plant them. Saturday, they arrived while I was at the store. She didn't even tell me they were here so I couldn't come up with an excuse why my son had to plant them. She told me to do it. She don't like for him to do stuff like that, says he's got a blackthumb! Well, he's my son, what makes her think I don't? (I HATE yardwork!!!) So I have spent the day digging, planting, or as my Dad used to say, "Plowin' the lower forty". Reminds me too much of the times we would visit my uncle on his farm for "vacation" after school was out for summer and he would send us kids out to chop cotton. Boy I hated that! Said it built character and respect for the land. Only thing it seemed to build on me were callouses, backaches, sunburn and blisters! But we always did enjoy the homemade ice cream, grilled hot dogs\burgers and ice cold watermelon he'd feed us kids after a day of that.

Please keep that coffee coming mam, I ain't had enough yet! Wha?? No thank ya mam, I have my own "flavoring".

Evening all, Flo I sure could use a cold glass of water please.
Rex - Are you ready for the big game Saturday ? I know what you mean about the computer deal. Back when I had dial-up, the phone went out so I went next door and called the phone co. At first they said the trouble was inside the house and they would have to charge me to fix it, then they said it was on the pole, but it would be two weeks before they could repair it, man I was mad. So when they finally got it repaired I told them to cancel and I went to cable. Won't never have dail-up again !!!

Everyone have a great evening.

Stan.

Evenin' ya'll!
I'll take a soda on the rocks please! Well as the title says, I'm just dropping in to say hello!
Anyone up for a game of poker?
-Chris

Rex, I see Chip directed you to the Club layout pictures. And thanx for the kind comments on the pusher. As for the plans, well...uh... :o I didn't actually have any :o I just looked at the photos on one that Dean Freytag did for his coke works in an early-90's issue of MR. All I really wanted was something that vaguely resembled Dean's pusher, so I made some rough drawings to use as a guide to cutting the various Evergreen pieces. Never thought about saving them, this was long before my mentor advised me to photodocument all my modeling work. [I'll see if I can locate the MR issue in my friend's library.] Looks like you'll be having some fun with that 2-8-0!

Looks like my Internet is up again. I lost it right after my earlier post. I love how technology makes our lives so simple and care free . Top that off, I had to pay an Air Conditioner man $750.00 for new coils today. Ouch! But, it is half of what another larger company wanted.

Carey: Gads! You should be ashamed of yourself. Complaining about a few little holes to dig. I sure hope you didn't work up a sweat...you didn't get any real dirt on you, did you:p? See you and the guy from Texas Wednesday evening, 7ish. Oh, Thanks for helping find stuff yesterday.

BMRR: RTR!, ROLL TIDE ROLL! Yes sir, I am more than ready for Saturday's game with Tennessee. This town will be stuffed with people. I guess you heard that our backup quarterback (freshman) got nailed with a DUI around 2:30 am Sunday morning. I haven't heard what Coach Shula will do, but I would bet that he will finish driving that nail in 'till it hurts.

KenL/SpaceMouse: Yea, I found the pictures. My downtime gets me off track as to where everything is. Like to say that I really enjoyed them and Spaceman you and your club have sure done a lot of good work. I sure liked the way you changed the looks of that building. You guys must have had a grand time together.
Ken, are Freytag models the ones that Walthers used for their Steel series kits? Hope you can find the MR issue for the coke pusher, but don't worry about it too much. I doubt if I could make one near as nice as yours. It looks like it came from a kit with all the details that you have added. You know, with all the little tidbits on the market, I wonder why no ones makes details and accessories for Steel making. Hmmm!

Yeah the landfill has gotten huge hasn't it! Yeah, much better off outside the base though, Saturday it was PACKED... Got a little sun burn going from doing nothing, sitting outside "people watching" all day! Got out of the "Base wide FOD walk" today, thats where basicaly all the E5's and below on the base, walk the runways picking up any and all trash they find (bad for aircraft). Got one of those important jobs, that I couldn't leave to got do that, ha!

Back to normal work. No more sunburning, alot more sitting, new guy at work...

No drinks again, still gotta lotta drinks, i havn't touched any cause i went to Olive Garden for dinner...

Dean was the primary 'consultant' for Walthers when they were developing their steel mill subscription series, but they didn't boilerplate any of his own models.

Actually Rex, they DO! :D They simply don't advertise in mainstream publications because - let's face it - us mill modelers are a 'minority' market! But I can give you a link that may interest you, where you can make contact with some of these guys:
http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/steel/
I haven't gone over there much myself lately, but that is where I get all the answers to my steel-specific questions when I have them.

Hello everyone, have any of you been affected with unwanted guests in the bathroom, maybe mice or rats, have a look at what was living in the drains in this block of flats

this is the news clip

10ft Boa 'Living in Sewage Pipes'
Uninvited guest: Keith the boa is thought to have been living in sewage pipes

A 10ft snake thought to have been living in sewage pipes in a block of flats for three months has been caught.

The 10ft (3m) boa constrictor, named Keith, is thought to have been abandoned when a resident was evicted after owing £5,500 in rent to his landlord.

The huge snake had been slithering out of toilet bowls throughout a block of flats in West Didsbury, Manchester, since August and could have been left in revenge following the eviction.

The creature was spotted on several occasions, but no one had the courage to try to catch it.

Firefighters were called when a resident went to the toilet in the night and came face-to-face with the reptile - but they could find no trace of it.

Terrified homeowners were forced to put bricks on toilet seats in a bid to keep the beast from popping out of the pan.

But another resident found it and captured it in a bin before calling the RSPCA, which is now caring for the creature.
this is the beast in the pan, imagine what could have happened if you had been sitting on the pan at the time, (snake)yum yum dinner up (poor sod on the pan) :eek:GULP-AARHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
