Thats not a bad thing.

Variety is the spice of life. Think that is a saying I've heard somewhere but applies here!
I'm rapidly running out of space to store them all in is the problem, and I've one more on the way, one HO SD70ACe in UP WP heritage from Tony's Trains that's sitting at UK customs, another HO SD70 (Lease) I'm contemplating on, and, when they comes back into stock, a HO French REE K22 locomotive steamer, a OO scale Accurascale Deltic Diesel, plus a HO SD90 Demo all on pre-order.

My poor attempt at a little weathering, still need to do the wheels tho'.
I've also added a rear light to this one which is also battery powered, need to find a better way to power them, I want to add two, but the battery will only power one, I know someone said about using collars or springs as pickups from the axle, need to investigate that idea.

That weathering is just about perfect, I would just shoot a little dust on top of the roof. Bigger problem is; I don't think Great Northern ever had "Northeastern" type caboose...but I could be wrong

I'll do this in order, so first. the UP/WP Heritage arrived unpacked her and I admit, she is a beauty.

Had to look up how to remove the bodyshell so I could fit the decoder. It's an interesting arrangement, the pins at either end correspond to fitting in the top of the bodyshell to control the lights etc. never seen this before, at least you can't pull any wires loose.

I've already done a short run on DC so I know everything is working fine, well it did!
This is F0 and F3

If I hold F2 down as well, I get this.

There's no lights at the rear at all, regardless of which function button I push.

It took me a while to figure out what was wrong, 🤔 at least I think I know, this is a 21 pin 4 function decoder I've installed, methinks I need a 6 function decoder, Oh balderdash!! I'll have to wait another week now. :(
(TBH I didn't know this had ditch-lights):)

I removed the decoder, seeing it was a 4 function and I'm pretty sure I need a 6 function one, and re-installed the blanking plate to run on DC. I'm a little concerned that the rear light didn't light up, but that maybe wired like that, I'll find out later when one of the two 6-function decoder's arrive.

Anyway, Alco 630M doing a lap of my track.

That thing is going to be a workhorse!
