You ever tried plaster cloth? I tried it for the first time on the last layout and will never look back. This seems to have worked pretty well for a "base". Certainly saved on cutting up foam and the mess associated with that, as well as time - I think. Am going to need MORE plaster though![]()

Just cut squares, dip in water and apply. You can do a bunch of hard shell in a very short time.
This side of the pond it could mean Tony has cut his finger!

Hutch - not an old fashioned idea at and even if it was, so what? If it works, that's all that matters rightIsn't plaster of paris a better option? Too old fashion? Paper strips dipped in flour and water mix, that's what I remember doing school projects with. That's cheap!
Once you realize that there are plenty of alternatives to the over priced woodlands stuff you'll never use or waste your money on it again. As you said, keep it (your money) for other things were there aren't alternativesAbsolutely Tony. I'm going to try to avoid WS stuff for the most part. It doesn't fit in my budget. I need to save money for rolling stock!!!!!
So when do we see a post with your helix, or did I miss that post.Glad I was missed.
Going off line again.
Give you time to build that helix.
David
Now there is a darn good question ---So when do we see a post with your helix, or did I miss that post.
Have to admit, I'm with you, I don't like Helix's, they have their uses I know, but no, not for meNow there is a darn good question ---![]()
