Good morning! Turned in at 2230 last night, had to get up at 0230, and then slept solid until 0800. Felt pretty good, but feels like I might have a slight fever this morning. Last night too. Taking DayQuil and NightQuil for it. I probably picked up something from the hospital before discharge.

If it gets worse it's a trip back to the hospital for a CBC and white cell count. All I can say it is better not be an infection from these tubes running into me. I'll cut the suture myself and remove this drain. Drain contents are normal though, so I'm not panicking yet.

Good Morning, Happy Sunday! Rain and wind is supposed to end around noon. Radar implies sooner.

My model railroad compressed into containers and loaded on an open trailer went south for temporary storage. My son and his friend sat at the Chesapeake Bridge - Tunnel almost 3 hours, waiting for the gusts to go below 35knts.

Everything below this was wiped out as I again had to prove I was human when I hit Post.

Good Morning All. Clear and now 75°, cooler earlier when I got up. Nothing different here, NWS still expects close to 2" of rain on Wednesday, with another inch on Thursday. Then it's supposed to taper off through the weekend. The rain would be welcome. This is supposed to be caused by a cold front finally pushing the heat dome out of the area, but the forecast doesn't show a wind shift until Friday! We'll see what happens. 2" will not close the cracks in the ground on my property.
Speaking of weather, anyone else notice that there have been no Atlantic or Gulf hurricanes yet this year? A few tropical depressions but no hurricanes. Hawaii seems to be attracting them this season.

Another 8+ hour sleep night last night, so I am late posting. More of the same boring stuff around here yesterday and today. Church to break things up shortly. Looks like I already have enough firewood stacked for the whole winter; with more ready to gather and stack.

I did not visit the train shed yesterday. I instead went up the road and visited Bubba and drank beer with him and some other folks that I know. It's a daily get-together up there, usually with Bubba, his dad Neil, neighbor Delang and Ray who lives nearby. We had some women folks there yesterday, Bubba's wife Michelle, Bubba's daughter and Delang's MIL Pam who also lives next door to the north.

Michael - Continued best wishes on your recovery.
Kusojiji - Continued best wishes on your recovery as well.
Bob - Finally got a look at your cab ride video. Looks great.
John - That is a really f****d up sleep pattern. Hope that you normalize soon.
Kevin - Both you and the missus get well soon.
Tom O - Please extend my birthday wishes to Terry. Happy Birthday to her. I'll hit 75 in 3 more months or so.

Gotta go now as Mass begins at 10:00, 14 miles away.
Everyone have a great Sunday.

Good morning. It is clear and 75, after an overnight low of 59. Looks like that will be the lowest it will go for the next while.

I'm reminded of how in the older sets, there was always one engine in an A-B-B-A set that sounds like a coffee grinder. The other three are great, but one of the B units makes more noise than all the other ones put together.

It looks like it's going to be time to retire my old iMac. I've gotten something like another year out of it by replacing the screen, but with the impending release of the newest version of Mac OS, it is going to no longer get security updates. I'm going to miss the 27" 5K screen and 64 GB of ram, but unless I want to jack around with Linux, it's time to put it out to pasture.

To everyone recovering or dealing with health issues, here's to a faster & pain free recovery. Hopefully you won't have to accept or determine your "new normal." My wife was given that unfortunate news after recovering from osteomyelitis that was in the spinal bone marrow.

Tom - Extend my birthday wishes to your wife. Just think of the history you've both lived through over the last 75 years.

Good afternoon folks, hope you are all doing as well as possible today. 77 here with sprinkles. Neither of us made it to Church today. I'm always leery of giving something to folks there. Going to listen to the last Cardinal's game today.
@Marlin39 I didn't make myself clear earlier, I was wondering what stuff you still were trying to get rid of, my apologies.
You guys take care.

Good afternoon gang!

Sitting here watching NASCAR from Kansas. Too dismal outside to do anything. Too cold in the house to go anywhere other than my recliner. Plus my back is very sore on the right side,
Willie, I printed you ingredients list and gave it to Sharon. She’s working on that now. More on that after dinner.

Good Idea.

Speaking of weather, anyone else notice that there have been no Atlantic or Gulf hurricanes yet this year? A few tropical depressions but no hurricanes.
What I have also noticed was that the bulk of the Tropical Storms/Depressions/Disturbances are closer to Southern Europe and Africa, rather than South America and the Caribbean. It's still raining here from this weekends Nor' Easter, although the winds have died down. 1.91" of rain just today.

Learned that the stackable watertight containers, I had my railroad in, were NOT water proof, as a result much of my stuff stored in these containers was soaked...Hopefully the locomotives were on the bottom and most shielded from the rain. Otherwise.....
My son is trying to dry out and salvage what he can...💸💸💸💸 . I won't be able to assess the full damage until November.

Hope the rest of the move goes better.

I did exclude my two Walthers Broadway Limited Sets from what was shipped. One is as delivered 1948, the other is of how the train appeared after being combined with the General, in 1967, before the PC Merger. They are in my garage. BTW: the old style Rubbermaid containers were watertight. Lesson 💸 Learned.

Season ending (meaningless), game between Baltimore and Yankees cancelled due to rain in da Bronx.

Ok, so I'm going to start organizing my Winter project or my 1 month of building fun.

I want to build a "disposable" switching layout using 2 old 1'x3' diorama bases. I had to add some height to one of the bases and I found some cabinet clamps to hold them together.

My minimalist goal is to use structures that I have left over from the swap meet IF possible. I also want to limit the build to no more than 2 turnouts. Very doable.

I started laying out structures, but the only one I really like is the feed mill because it can be a multi-car industry. I can't believe that one didn't sell, but maybe it's because I build plastic structures "good enough" and put a lot more effort into wooden structures.

The fuel dealer may be too large and the industrial building may need to be modified with some more details like dust collectors. I have a little loading ramp that I can use for a team track also. I may have to find a narrower structure or a background model.

I can't decide if it looks better to have the cars behind the feed mill or have the back of the structure facing me.

The neat thing I found were Walthers module connectors. Great idea!

Structure ideas welcome.

Good morning all. Another rainy day with the typhoon on the way. Current tracking shows it remaining away from landfall, but we'll get the rain. With the ground still soaked, there will landslide dangers still lurking.

Woke up, got the eye drops in, started the coffee and did my vitals. BP very low at 106/72 and weight down another 1/2 Kg (1.1 lb) to 159.4. Can't wait to go see the doc today to get a read on what is going on. The bubble now has two mini-me's hanging onto it, so I must have shook it hard enough to break some pieces off last night. I also saw a lot of stringy stuff attached to it and larger pieces of junk floating around. The bubble has caught one of them as it looks like it is inside it. I'll make sure that the doc knows what I see and hope that she sees it and lets me know if that's normal and will go away or not.

Either way, I have packed my backpack with two days worth of supplies in case i get admitted and have packed the suitcase for the long stay if needed. Better to prepare for worse case.

I updated the onbase doc with an email detailing all that went on and what is going on now. Unfortunately, I received in OOO response that he is on leave until tomorrow.

I got my fix in last night and ran some trains.
