I really hope so. He'll never get what he's asking though. He wants $115,000 in a neighborhood full of $60K-$70K homes. No way, no how. There's absolutely nothing special about that house. Every house on this street is a story and a half with basement. His is a single-level with basement. Square footage is two thirds of what any other house on this street is.

With interest rates recently bumped, he'll be lucky to get an offer of $75K.
Whoa! That is quite affordable. That kind of home here (minus the basement) easily gets $250K.

Glad to see you guys's temperature is coming down. Hours is also showing a downward trend in between the typhoons. While it's been hot, it could have been worse if I were still working. I feel for my former coworkers who are still walking to the ships and back and have to spend time outside. I remember those days and have had to remind folks to take their breaks and drink a lot of water. Nowadays I just sit on my butt and soak up AC.

I bet! Glad your getting sprung!

Nothing like coming home when you have been away for a while

One of the first things I'm gonna do is take a shower within the confines of what the doctor tells me today, after I check my credit union account put the stuff that I have in my shopping cart at rails on order, see how the fish are doing, see how the garden is doing, see how the house fared, see how the car fared, and reacquaint myself with my chair!

Good evening. It's 85 and less than 100% humidity--13 degrees cooler is a good thing, though 85 is still warm enough I won't be pulling out my long pants. Though tomorrow morning it's supposed to be 64. My "rule" is if it is below 60 when I leave for work, I wear long pants.

The first batch of trains arrived today, though the letter carrier dropped them on my neighbor's doorstep, instead of mine. And that neighbor won't be here until November 10th.
But I digress...
In this stash, I have a Concor/Kato E7A-B-B-B-A set in Union Pacific. It's DC only, and only one A unit is powered.
Next is a Concor MP15, also in UP. This one is kind of disappointing, because it runs and pulls great, and is nearly silent when running. The disappointment is because there is no way in hell to put a decoder in it without removing so much weight it won't even pull itself.
Then, I have an Atlas/Kato GP35, also in UP. It sill has Rapido couplers, and the air horn is MIA. I have spare horns, but I'm going to have to dig for some MT couplers. It runs like a Kato should.
Also, a Kato RS2, also in UP. It has Kato knuckle couplers, and also runs like you'd expect from a Kato.
I also have an A-B-B-A set of Kato F7s, also in UP. These are from the era where they were not DCC compatible. One A has an MT coupler, the other has a Rapido, and both B's have Unimate knuckle couplers. They run well, but are noisy.
There's an Athearn FP45, painted for Milwaukee Road, but in UP Armour Yellow. I can't find much reference to it, but it runs very well. It is odd because it has no dynamic brakes. It's currently tooling around the layout.
Then, there's the BLI E9A, also in UP, with sound. It runs well, but has the old Paragon 2 sound, which doesn't sound all that great.Kind of like a washing machine stuck on a slow spin cycle.
It looks like I'll be utilizing some of the Digikeys F unit frames Kusoji sent me a few months ago, since there are these four, plus another five arriving Monday. I think I'm going to be busy installing decoders for a while...
Have a good weekend.

well howdy there internet house hunters and stinky shower takers

It's Troy again.

First sort on the CD haul is done. I miscounted and there were seven of the boxes. I filled 2.25 back up with classical that my wife is sorting through.

Country came to 1/2 a box. Anything my wife doesn't grab (she likes Johnny Cash, and not much else) will go on FB Marketplace for a tenner.

Rap and Hip Hop was barely there. Though I may find more o the second sort of a bunch of stuff I'm not sure of the genre. Didn't want to take the time to look up each artist/album until I knew what I had.

Some disappointments:
Pink Floyd - as already mentioned, Dark Side of the moon was empty. The disk might be in another case. I didn't open them all, but I haven't found it yet. It probably won't be there. This is from a huge haul the seller purchases by the truck load. So who knows where that disk is.

Pink Floyd: The Division Bell had both case and disk, but the disk looked like it went through a nasty divorce. I ran it through my old scratch fixer, then put it in the new CD player. It skipped and stalled on tracks 8,9, and 10. I've got a better scratch fixer showing up tomorrow. One more try with it. If the disk still skips it goes in the trash.

Jesus Christ Superstar: My all time favorite musical. I've got it ripped from before I sold my old CDs and that was one I was hoping to find. I did! -- but only disk two of the brown album. Drat. No disk 1. No movie version of it all. I prefer the brown album, and have the DVD of the movie. So I can listen to the movie soundrack any time via the DVD.

On the sciatica/jelly donut issue, I started doing Nerve Flossing again. That will probably help in a few days. But I'm not pushing that hard yet. The idea is to get the nerve gliding along the path, as I raise and lower my leg, flex the foot. It's been bothering me long enough that the PT said I need to work on "unsticking" the nerve.

Here's a pic of me hitting the angry giant MRI donut that tried to eat me on Tuesday.

IH35 construction continues with a new entrance opening up near UNT, replacing one that they closed about 14 months ago. That project is one of four separate projects that I deal with on IH35; I have a fifth on the state highway between me and the highway itself. There will be another major one on IH35 pretty soon as soon as they finish up some of the current ones. Basically they are widening IH35 between Denton Texas and the Oklahoma state line and totally replacing the 55 year old IH35E/IH35W merge. They project finishing the current ones by 2029. Not sure when they will start the pending one, since all of the major contractors are already quite busy.

Back in 1966, I had several friends that were attending North Texas State University in Denton Texas, north of Dallas. At that time I35 was a single lane, blacktop road separated by a grass median. They began work on widening and improving I35 that year from Dallas to Denton and the construction has run non-stop ever since then. I35 north of Dallas to Carrollton/Farmers Branch Texas is now in its third makeover. I can't remember ever driving I35 that there was not some roadwork going on somewhere.

Well, doc visit not as good as i had hoped. Strange that after two scans this morning, the senior doctor finds inflammation. I don' t have to stay here, but we have to come back on monday. And have to take more meds. It happens that since i am allergic to cipro, which is the normally used antibiotic, thry had to use a weaker one, so may thats why i got the inflammation. Oh well.

@troyphoto if there are any Marty Robbins or Asleep at the Wheel, let me know!
Temperaturewise it was a lovely day. got some meds for my wife, she was really hurting today. Decided to do ramen again tonight for myself. Got a caboose for my HO UP steam locomotive today and a couple of Amtrak cars for my N scale Atlas. Still got to pick up a couple more for that.

Made it home, had lunch, and the continuing doses of eye drops. Found that all of my efforts of keeping my shopping cart alive at Rails went to naught as they cleared it between this morning and now. Either they caught on, or the sell out of the train crew pack caused the clearing. At least the loco was still in stock so I put that on order and it is done.

First time I looked in the mirror since the operation and can see where they put the probes. Have two red spots on the lower side of the iris and the rest of the eye, while not as white as it used to be, isn't completely bloodshot. Doc said she didn't want me to do anything, so here I am, sitting on me bum again while my poor wife has to continue to do everything. I hope that the inflammation clears so that I can start helping around the house.

As for losing weight, I guess those last few meals as well as the sitting around all day, made my pants tighter than it was when I entered the hospital. I will weigh myself tomorrow and see. Either way, I guess the stomach expansion exercises worked...

Good morning. It's clear and 64.
I've been monitoring the travels of another Fleabay purchase, heading from CA to me. It was moving along nicely, then it got to Memphis. From there, it went back to San Antonio, Texas. Not sure why it went several hundred miles in the wrong direction.
Another purchase went from Louisiana to Memphis, where it is currently located. I guess we'll see if it also goes to San Antonio.
The Scale Trains engines are currently in Ybor City, otherwise known as the place packages go to die.

I have no problems with USPS. Since their tracking site doesn't work for me, then I can't tell if there is a problem...
