Morning all,

Only one in the department yesterday and today. Boss is in, but doesn't run calls.

15 days remain until vacation, first real one in 5 years. Nearly 2 weeks out of the office and we'll see how may phone calls I get...We are headed to California, despite the $8.00+ for gas. We're running Rt. 66 from Adrian, Texas to Santa Monica, California. While we left off at Tucumcari, New Mexico, it was storming when we went through the midpoint, so I didn't get the pictures I wanted when we last went. Only adds 45 minutes to the trip to Tucumcari.

On the way back, we're running a detour to see Hoover dam and then spending 2 nights in Williams AZ to take the train to the Grand Canyon. Still debating taking an extra day to rerun through Texas and Oklahoma as far as Oklahoma City. Next June my sister is having the celebration of life for my parents in the Western Michigan town we're originally from, and the wife and I are going to waver into Chicago and run the route back to Carthage Missouri.

Morning all,

then spending 2 nights in Williams AZ to take the train to the Grand Canyon.

The hotel in Williams was very nice, the all you can eat Harvey House dinners were good. Let me know if the FPA2s are still there (as back up power for the FP40s) Gorgeous locos! It's been almost 6 years since we got married on the south rim of the canyon, and we want to go back, loved it out there.

Good morning folks and it is 55F in Steamboat Springs CO this morning. Michael good news, get well quickly and take it easy for the next few days! LOOOONG travel day yesterday, from LittleRock AR to DFW Airport for our layover, their tram was down so of course the two gates we used were literally at the opposite ends of the airport! I was fortunate in that a porter got me into a wheelchair and got me halfway across until we got loaded onto a golfcart for the rest of the trek. Then into Denver where we wound up with a Nissan Frontier pickup for our journey. Stopped at Georgetown, saw the Train Museum and the town itself, both really lovely. The scenery is gorgeous, and our truck ran fine. Room is really nice with the usual semi-ordeal of getting checked in [it's a Timeshare and they always want to sell you something]. Looking forward to a nice trip here, going from one end of the state to the other this week.
And, YES! The site is so much better this morning.

Well good morning coffee shoppers! A pleasant 72 in the Brew City this morning, going to a balmy 76 today. Rain today, so I'm glad I mowed yesterday. you can tell fall is here. It's in the air, and the leaves are now turning. I have to some club treasurer work today for the meeting Thursday. Following a guy who did it for 19 years isn't easy, especially when he can't train you! I'm still working on that boatload of passenger cars I bought. Easy stuff now, like people and window shades. I want to get them ready for the railroad as soon as possible. I'm almost there. Enjoy your day!

Good mornin'. Site seems a bit hesitant and not instantaneous like earlier, but better than before. Might be me as my computer got an update as I was shutting down last night.

Left hand brace arrived so will be giving it a go to keep the wrist straight and not aggravating the nerve that has tantrums once in a while.

Wife told me I need to put my name on everything in case it gets stolen in the hospital. I asked why? If the hospitals are getting burglarized, most likely inside job, why aren't they doing anything about it? I told her this is typical BS, just like the K-car drivers with the yellow license plates getting harassed by the other drivers so the country allows them to buy a special white license plate to hide behind. So the country knows this is an issue and the harassed get to pay more. I want to mount a mini-gun in my car and get rid of the a-hole drivers instead. Why aren't they doing anything about it.

So, I'm seriously thinking about getting a mini spy camera and mount it in my room.

Oh, so my wrist and I have something in common... haha

Wouldn't have guessed you live in Steamboat (correct me if I'm wrong). If you do, I'll ask if you know a guy named Chris Hamilton, who is a Flight For Life helicopter EMT when he's not sim-racing. Which is, of course, where I know him from, thankfully not as a passenger on Flight For Life.

Saw this scene coming out of the volleyball game tonight.

Well, I just ordered a usb charger with a camera. No apps needed, just pop the sd card out. Sd card? Only supports up to 128Gb, which I don't have. And dang! those things have skyrocketted in price! Cost more than the camera by two-fold. So I gave up. Then I went to the NEX website and they have some 64s for $32 bucks, so I ordered the camera and will go to the base tomorrow.

Getting my suitcase loaded for Friday. Wife was adamant that I don't take my blessed UW (holy), which are so comfy!! haha

I was able to figure out the combo to my TSA lock that I had in the suitcase. Wasn't too hard but it took some time. Then I recoded it to a new number and hope I remember it tomorrow - just thought of it, will put the number in my phone...

So, the plan is to put all my valuables into my suitcase and lock it. they'll have to steal the entire suitcase, which I'll tie to the bed.

Oh yeah, it is raining again...
