It's Troy again

PT today in about 4 hours.

I might have taken an extra celobrex today. I spied an extra Magnesium capsule ijn the morning pills. Not supposed to take it at the same time as the Gabapentin. But I couldn't remember if I took the celobrex. Did a quick interwebs search to make sure that if I did double the dose I wasn't into OD territory, then took the celebrex (perhaps for the second dose today????) I figured that if I was wrong on memory (had I, or had I not taken it before I noticed the wayward magnesium) then a maybe on extra on PT day was better than NONE of PT day.

I do need to go hit the grocery today and get my "Jumbo hauler" cart. Need to get the chuck roast - if it doesn't require a 2nd mortgage to purchase, and a pork shoulder. Smoking the Chuck roast (poor man's brisket style) tomorrow for dinner, left overs will go in the Beef-n-noodles for the family reunion. Pork shoulder is for cooking on Saturday.

I thought about heading up to Costco for the meat, but there is no way I can walk that place and not collapse in pain. Walking, maybe 2 minutes. Standing, 45 seconds is my limit before I head for a chair. And I don't remember if they have the Jumbo-haulers there or not.

I debated on doing instant cart delivery from Costco... But I want to select the meat. At least on the chuck roast.

According to claudeAI, Costco does have the mobility scooters. Hmmmmm

A nice light rain is falling and should continue on thru mid morning. currently its 69F and the high is going up around 78F.

A few things schedules for today. A load of laundry and I have my 6 month dental cleaning today at 9:30. Not much else planned for the
day.

After the volleyball game last night I ate at another restaurant chain I had never been to. Chick-fill-A . They had a pretty good chicken sandwich,
but there fries were really good. Not traditional cut but waffle cut. I thought it was pretty good.

They've unplugged Nicki from all the tubes and monitors. They're doing blood draws every 4 hours now instead of every 2. If her sodium level stays stable they are going to move her out of the ICU tonight. She may actually be able to come home tomorrow, but realistically Thursday.

The orthopedic surgery is healing well. She's to use the bathroom on her own with a walker. There's very little bruising.

I don't spend more than a couple of hours a day at the hospital. She's been getting very little sleep with all the blood draws and when she starts to nod off I leave.

House has seemed eerily empty and quiet without her. Sleeping and my daily routine are messed up. Those of you that have been married 40+ years like us know what I'm talking about. Even the dog keeps checking her side of the bed to see if she magically appears.

I know how you feel when Terry’s gone overnight. She calls it payback for my road warrior days when I’d be gone overnights

Good morning from Wisconsin. Light rain over night but just a miserable mist now. 71f degrees now feels like 83, high later is 84. I did not chec the rain gauge but the heavy duty storms predicted at the 10pm news Terry had on said it couldn’t miss us. i believe it did

Went Troll hunting yesterday in Clinton Iowa. A wonderful success!

Boy can troll hunters talk and no one was shy! We talked to a bunch of couples who were traveling and stopping to see the Trolls as they cross the Midwest. We were looking at Marvin when I heard my last name being called. One of the ladies that the grandson cuts her lawn who lives about 5 houses up from the old house. She was with 3 friends who took a drive yesterday.

These are Danish artist Thomas Dambo creations. He designs the Trolls after checking the site. Uses recycled materials and during installs advises the volunteers who assemble these guys. He gets middle 6 figure pay for his commission. Currently has 50 active trolls in the US but has installed 68. Because they are recycled materials they eventually deconstruct. It must be an “artist’s” word for fall apart.

Our plan is to see the 4 in Dayton, Ohio and 4 in Louisville over the next 6 weeks hockey schedules, health and weather permitting!

Good Morning All. Clear and an ungodly 80° this morning. Kinda blew the NWS's forecast yesterday with 105°, not really supposed to be that warm this time of year. Currently, no end in sight. I don't mind the heat, but I do wish that it would rain a bunch.

Inauspicious day today, as Ms. SFW and I are celebrating our 54th anniversary. And my Dad always said it wouldn't last. I guess that there's still time for us to split!

Average day around here yesterday. I did split some wood and prepared the space for this winter's wood stacks. Then it got warm!
today looks like the same until my wife tells me what the plan is for today.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I did continue to do ground cover. Extended the road along the Railroad ROW, but left the camera out there. My water/glue mixture is not behaving as it is supposed to be, so I will have to look at that today.

Marco - I like them both, but I believe that version "A" is more appropriate for the 50's.

Also I think the diesel provides the power needed for the modern rolling stock being pulled. Electricity or steam or whatever they need is. Or something the steamer can provide.

Not in the case of UP's 4014 Big Boy. There's a dedicated power generator car, the "Howard Fogg", that powers all of the trailing cars.

Mike - I like the fries and chicken at Chick-fill-A as well, but I only go there 1-2 times a year. Usually on the trip to or from our vacation destination.

Good morning. 86°F/72°F already here this morning. Going to get worse before it improves tomorrow. Heat advisories already in effect until 1900 tonight. Good chance of rain as the evening progresses. Definite rain overnight with thunderstorms likely. Tomorrow is supposed to be only 80°F.

Laundry day today, but only one load. It's churning now. Done before lunch, which today is bratwurst!

Nothing else going on here. Probably going to be holed up in the house today, but at least we had two good days Monday and Tuesday.

I guess the knee I twisted about 3 weeks ago is going to heal at its own sweet time.
I cut the grass this morning after 5 weeks of procrastination. The humidity is under 50% for a change and I mowed at 76 F this morning so I was comfortable. It took about a hour on the riding mower but the knee was protesting at the end.
I cannot decide if I strained the knee more than I thought or if I am just getting older.
(Yes, I know I am old.)

Morning all! 75 in the Brew City this AM, going to 80. some rain last night, and possibly more later this morning, what's left of it. Back from the dentist, which was less of a big deal than I thought it was going to be. Just a cleaning. The fun stuff is in two weeks, a crown and a filling. My old Navy issue fillings are giving up the ghost one by one. They were done in 1977, so I guess they don't owe me any money. I jacked up the dental coverage last month, as this stuff is expensive, but even good dental coverage leaves you holding a fair-sized bag when it's all said and done. Doing a little airbrushing today on those passenger car interiors, then some figures. My window shades should be here today, and I got a notice that my follow up order of additional passenger cars has shipped. Looking forward to those, but I spent way too much on them to be honest. I probably should have stuck with freight! Welcome to passenger car Hell! Enjoy your day!

Good morning folks, it's already 92 here and heading to 97 with a Heat Advisory. Supposed to cool off the next couple days, I will wait to do some weed pulling/spraying until then. Fought with my problem child Kato last night, cannot get it to cooperate, so when we get back from our trip next week I will take it to my DCC expert. New book arriving today on Railroads in South Dakota. I really like those Images of Rail books, lots of great pictures.

It's Troy again.

Pork has been procured.

Went to PT, and man my insurance now sucks. The Therapist said that it looks like I'll owe about $150 per session since I haven't met my deductible yet.

And the therapist evaluating me said it really sounds and feels like an L4-L5 issue, and he'd write his evaluation indicating that he really want me to get an MRI before trying more than basic therapy. His eval echoes what the Nurse Pract/PA said to me last week. They need an MRI to properly diagnose and develop treatment.

I told the wife, who's work provides the insurance, and she said we could go up a level of insurance to get lower deductibles NEXT Year, but it really doesn't cover much more for twice the cost.

Then she found several independent imaging centers. One is about a mile from our home, right next to the grocery I like to shop at.

MRI runs $450-600 if I pay out of pocket without insurance.

So a note has been sent to the spine docs requesting orders.
