Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with plumbing issues

It's troy again.

I've been cursing my physical therapist yesterday, and the mood carried over to this morning. It's not good when I wake up that way.

I have a list of nine exercises to do daily. most are three sets of 15 reps. A few (the more complicated ones) are 2 sets of either timed activity or reps. Over half are using the looped tension bands. And I will be returning the medium (level 3) band he sent home. I need a light/level 1 band. I couldn't do more half the reps he wanted, one set only yesterday. That's how fatigued and sore my muscles were after Monday's PT session.

Normally, I have a high trust factor with my PTs, but this is my first time working with Josh. I get the impression he's treating me like a jock. (I'm not, and should never be confused with one).

Also, he seemed a bit shocked when I gave him the doctors assessment. The doc is quick to go to surgery route and wants to snip off the little bit of the "jelly donut" disk that is pressing on the nerve. Follow up is four weeks. Not the six that PT is usually assigned for.

So, shorter time frame, and he is probably thinking that I have to increase leg strength by that time or go to surgery.

I get the sense that the doc just wants to fill his surgery calendar. This would be a 2nd opinion time anyway - and the insurance company (that Willie is so impressed with ;) ) requires that I only use the Carrum network for ortho/back surgery... and the closest doc in that network is not in this guy's practice. I have to drive two hours to get to one of the Carrum network docs. So that's another two weeks to get a consultation, and then another week or two to get on the surgery schedule.

So, we're going to have a chat with the PT tomorrow about recalibrating his schedule and making the list of exercises more targeted to fixing the herniation and disk bulges.

Other than that, it's laundry day.

Weather today:

That's 56° with a high of 76° in F-degrees

Good morning all!

Happy Hump Day!

Its 61F with a steady rain coming down. Not going to get much warmer with the high expected at 66F.

Have a few things to get done today. Already have the laundry gathered up and I will get that started once everyone is done with showers. I
didn't trim yesterday and with the rain doesn't look like I will get that done today unless it dries out this afternoon.

Not much else going on at the moment.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning Crew. Wet and wild outside. Not a whole bunch of rain but the winds are gusting into the 20’s. It’s supposed to calm down and the rain diminishing within the hour. 60f degrees now maybe 70 this afternoon.

Thanks for all the birthday well wishes. It was a good day overall. I don’t feel any difference between 73 and the new 74! The German Chocolate birthday cake Terry made is great as it’s one of my favorites and rarely made here!

Marco, a Welberg clinic! Congrats on getting in. I watch his videos on You Tube. He was a great member at the now defunct Railroad Line Forums. He showed a lot of his stuff there and the guys encouraged him to go into business. Seems like a good guy. Best to you on the magazine article

Today the plan is some clean up time at the bench and maybe some time in the studio messing up some canvas. Probably more canvas time than bench time. I need a reset before all out medicals begin. I have 2 next week but Terry has a few and I need to be at 2 to hear the bad news. She has an outwardly positive attitude but she hides her feelings pretty good and I need to tread lightly around her health issues!

The brother who always calls and rarely texts texted me bday wishes. I prefer text messages and rarely have my phone on me when at home. They spent most of September in Italy and around the Mediterranean. Took a cruise to Croatia that he says was the absolute best he’s ever been on. They are in Scottsdale for the girlfriend’s medical which he hinted at is not good. She’s been in remission but we all know how that works out. The big trip was to get her to a few places she’s wanted to see.

I’m purposely dropping my online time again. For some reason I’ve been listening to the Ai generated sci-fi stories on YouTube and it’s a deep stupid rabbit hole. I need to break the habit and if at 8 I leave my IPadPro at the bench I need to do other. 2 days in so far and withdrawals are now being felt though with the NHL starting last night helped. My painting studio now has my big old leather stuffed chair, a Ott reading lamp and my too big a screen to watch. It also has my cooler from the layout room so my sodas are always frosting cold. The sound system is messed up but good enough for last night.

Enjoy the day

Dr visit went well. He didn't notice any issues and best news yet, he told me I can start washing my hair. Just try to avoid getting water in my eye. After we finished, the other doctor wanted to see me. This was the one that missed detecting the inflammation during two scans in the morning on Saturday, my release date. Not sure why she wanted to check, maybe to reacquaint herself with what an inflammation looks like? Not sure I trust these two youngsters so I will be going to the University hospital where my surgeon works at. All day wait for a 15 minute consult, but at least I know he knows what he's doing.

The trains were pretty much empty, but I still had full contact train riding. People are such a-holes and are in a rush to go nowhere. Even with my eye patch on, they still try to run into me. One clown rushed past me, then tried to turn right in front of me. My left arm came out to ward against the collision and he ended up going into the train with me. I called him a f-ing asshole and that was the last I saw of him. On the way back, a girl tried to rush past me as we boarded. My wife was guiding me to the old folks, injured, and nursing seats and she tried to get past me. Well, she didn't. She did get a seat anyway, but really shouldn't have been sitting there anyway. Yeah, I shouldn't be out in public...
Looks like some of your fellow commuters are the ones who shouldn't be out in public. Just like people who obviously aren't entitled to
handicap placards for their cars. I saw a man in his 20's-30's pulls into a handicap parking spot with his placard. Not a big deal but his vehicle
was a lifted four door pickup with huge tires and backrack with off road light bars. Literally has to jump out to get out but limps his way to the
mall entrance. Once inside, disappears as if he was competing in a marathon.

Sh.t like this just piss's me off. Have been known to video stuff like that. In the above, I guess he could have be legit, although grabbing a cane after landing would have helped his story. I also sometimes take stills of people parking in handicap places without mirror placard or license plates. You know, the ones that think 'I will just be a minute', get out and pretty much run to the door(s). The local PD is interested and save them up for a bit to gather more evidence; it is not a 911 call but a PD visit of which if not busy, you sometimes get some eye-opening additional information.

Pancakes were great with Log Cabin syrup. 90% less sugar in that bottle. I wouldn't have bought it at all, but it was all they store had for Log Cabin.

One thing I know not to eat for a couple more weeks is Chinese egg rolls. I had three short ones for supper that whipped up a mess of gas inside of me this morning that I'm not quite ready for yet. I should have known something was up when my colon started making all sorts of strange sounds last night. Strangely enough though, it's not what popped my eyes open at 0300 this morning.

Yeah, me too. I wish I could report it to the police, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. I have a lot of video footage of this kind of cr@p. If I get a close call, I save the video. Maybe start a utube channel and post it there? Nah, I won't sell my soul to google. (no offense to those with channels).

I like your idea of taking a video or pretending to take a video. Perhaps it may shame the offender enough to leave the
parking space to someone who really needs it. I have pretended to take a video of people who don't pick up their dog's poop.
I also take license plate photos of cars that appear suspicious or seem out of place in the neighborhood. One car turned out
to be a stolen car that was abandoned.

Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 79°, kinda warm for the last day of September. The monsoon is headed our way hopefully. Basically that hurricane Polo coming across northwestern Mexico is bringing moisture and finally pushing that persistent heat dome out of the way. Yep! We can be affected by Pacific hurricanes as well as Gulf ones.

Calm before the storm yesterday, I gathered up stray yard equipment and put it up. Did a bit of mowing with the electric push mower and cleaned up bark and twigs littering the area around the firewood stack. Inside was another load of laundry.
Not sure of today's plan until I know whether the approaching rain (currently east of Midland and west of Abilene) will really make it here. The NWS still has the flood warning in place for what that's worth.

My go-to radio station in the 60's was KNUS, a very early underground station in Dallas. It morphed into "The Zoo", KZEW in the early 70's. Haven't really listened to on-air radio since the advent of CD's in the early 80's.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I did some more figure painting and placed a few more already ready figures in some other scenes. I started eyeballing the next quarterly cleaning project, the last stretch of the lower level which includes a staging yard. This project will be easy compared to most, as there's a big chunk that I just built this past March-April. So that really doesn't need anything except maybe a little cobweb removal. The staging yard which is about 35% of the area just needs trains moved out of the way and a quick track cleaning, as there's no scenery to deal with. Another 30% of the overall area is a temporary yard with excess freight cars, that just hasn't been developed yet. In between the two yards is where I put the recently built residential town, now named Arlene's Village in honor of my wife.

Marco - Good luck with the article.
Tom O - When I am at home, my phone is on the desk. I never carry it with me unless I am driving, and then I sometimes forget! But remember, I intentionally didn't get a cellphone until 2018 when I turned 66!!!

Not quite a rock & roller, Johnny Mathis is 91 today. He had an incredible 73 albums on the Billboard 200 charts. He had others before the charts were instituted. Another near rocker, Marilyn McCoo, of The Fifth Dimension is 83 today.

Everyone have a great Wednesday.
