As Dawn says, "HER bairns are growing up."

The Last Time

From the moment you hold your baby in your arms,
you will never be the same.
You might long for the person you were before,
When you have freedom and time,
And nothing in particular to worry about.

You will know tiredness like you never knew it before,
And days will run into days that are exactly the same,
Full of feeding and burping,
Nappy changes and crying,
Whining and fighting,

Naps or a lack of naps,
It might seem like a never-ending cycle.
But don’t forget …
There is a last time for everything.

There will come a time when you will feed
your baby for the very last time.
They will fall asleep on you after a long day
And it will be the last time you ever hold your sleeping child.

One day you will carry them on your hip then set them down,
And never pick them up that way again.
You will scrub their hair in the bath one night
And from that day on they will want to bathe alone.

They will hold your hand to cross the road,
Then never reach for it again.
They will creep into your room at midnight for cuddles,
And it will be the last night you ever wake to this.
One afternoon you will sing “the wheels on the bus”
and do all the actions,
Then never sing them that song again.

They will kiss you goodbye at the school gate,
The next day they will ask to walk to the gate alone.
You will read a final bedtime story and wipe your last dirty face.
They will run to you with arms raised for the very last time.

The thing is, you won’t even know it’s the last time
Until there are no more times.
And even then, it will take you a while to realise.
So while you are living in these times,
remember there are only so many of them
and when they are gone, your heart will yearn for just one more day of them.....

One Last Time …....................
I have seen you post this before, and a while back I was going down memory lane and this poem popped into my head.

Thanks again for sharing it

There's a lot of truth in it!

Sulking…accidentally ended up in July 2025, had a fun read tried to comment, tried to Comment, tried to COMMENT…!!!!
Who closed the thread….I want it open…..now
What no! No? But but but I had funny comments to make….awwwwww
Troy mentioned a possible spider and it was missing no sign of the said potential spider…and I wanted to say do you know just how many people accidentally swallow spiders while sleeping ….and on my wish list I want to see his face when he reads it….especially if he has a mouthful of the good coffee….

If you haven't experienced a live racoon in a trap before, I advise wearing heavy gloves when picking up and handling the trap. They can get their hands with those very sharp claws through the mesh of a Havahart trap, if that's the type that you got. Good luck and take it at least 8 miles away or it will be back...or so I have read.
We have a winner !
Racoon is in the trap and I do intend to take him/her far, far away.
Thanks Willie. Good advice.

I don't know how similar they are, but here's video for reference.
I have watched this video........similar but different.
My issue is the gear on the motor shaft that drives the cog belt, has split. Bachmann is out of stock on the gear and motor assemblies. So I am looking for a work around. NWSL offers an axle gear but nothing else.
Thanks for your thoughts on my issue.

The pretzels turned out perfect. Slathered them with melted butter on a barbQ brush and salted. tastes great with a Hofbräu!

Good afternoon folks. And I too, want Giordano's [or Aurelio's] Pizza and pretzels, as well.
Nice day at Church, and the weather is not too bad, temperature wise, only 91F. Possible rain tonight and then work tomorrow. Hoping that some parts for an old Smith & Wesson I am rebuilding arrive tomorrow, but the USPS tracking is useless today. Installed new night sights on a Sig yesterday, wow, the new ones are very bright. Gonna make some more coffee in a bit.

Right after I graduated with my culinary degrees I worked under a Bavarian chef, at a private business club, in the middle of Silicon Valley This was the only mustard he allowed in the kitchen when we did Oktoberfest & Mayfest. Spaten and Paulaner were the only beers allowed. I still remember the buffets we set up with 40+ items. Everything from bündnerfleisch to eisbein.

When Renee was promoted to F&B Director I was promoted to Executive Chef. If I didn't continue to do things his way it was an insult to his heritage and I was a "shoemaker".

I would have thought he would have allowed the other four München biers to be present. I actually like HB better than I do Paulaner, but there isn't one that I wouldn't drink.

My son and I both agree that HB is better, but I think at that time (early 1980's) HB may not have been available from the local distributors.

We used to buy and hang the pieces of bündnerfleisch in the walkin about 6 weeks prior so it would be fully dried. Heaven forbid that when you put it on the slicer that it didn't shave off into little curls.

My SIG-Sauer P225 was one of the 'Police Pistol' editions near the end of the run. Came with SIGLites and three magazines. This was from 2010 and the sights are still glowing. Not bright, but still glowing.
