Oh boy, oh boy! I made it through the day without feelin like crap! After dinner washed the dishes for the 1st time in a week. This might sound crazy but it feels good to be "normal" again. Plus Dawn dish detergent is great for getting grease out from under my fingernails!

Made it to the workbench tonight. Now there is a Bowser F7 with a new decoder installed, and I have drilled a bunch of itty bitty .019 holes in the shell to add details. The roof lift rings, and "eyebrow" grabs are installed, still have lots more grab irons, handrails. sunshades and air hoses to go. Yes its itty bitty teeny tiny stuff but I like it. After that there are 4 more F units to detail and paint, along with 3 SD40s, and a GP35 for the Western Maryland Rwy, then 2 RS3s and 2 GP9s to finish for the Midland. Looked through my project boxes and found a few BB GP38s and 1 SD45 that need finishing and homes. Oh heck, just found another GP9 and a GP16 in primer.

I guess I have an addiction of sorts. Gotta thin the herd. :(

How about posting a photo of the finished F7?

Why we don't talk about certain things here: I actually do understand it, and will support it...here...even in very painful times. It's because--I think--this.....ours....is a small and....vulnerable hobby. It's a hobby of little...even tiny things. A big part of our shared joy and happiness in it...certainly mine anyway.
And big events can be bone-crushing and heart-breaking...and a hobby of delicate things could be easily crushed. It could be too easily smashed and swept away by other events. And so the rules and edges have to be set hard in place to protect the center.
I'm good with it. We can hint at our outside struggles and still keep it safe in the common center.
For me that's enough. Just to hint, now and then, is to know there is agreement. That's all I need...when in need.

Movies: My own favorite, I think: "Bicentennial Man" Robin Williams. It's very much a film noir expression. A throwback to an earlier...you could almost say stilted if you didn't like it...or even say stilted if you did.
In any case a definite genre.
I came to see this film through short clips when we rented a house on the west coast...and it appeared on the subscribed video a clip at a time, as it were. It grew on me, partly because there was a familiarity about it. Well, yes, as I'm a huge Asimov fan, and the novel that inspired the movie was written by one or both.

Good morning, Everybody!

I have some ideas on how Dr. Frankenstein's monster felt when the mad doctor said, "It's Alive!"

Yesterday morning after working one block and watching the end of Wednesday's Orioles game I had to go to bed as my blood pressure was in the unsafe range, 66/50. Despite drinking lots of fluid and all indicators showing I was completely hydrated.

I slept all day, and I felt much better as my blood pressure has returned to the safe range. It was 90/66 immediately after waking up, not good, but not bad for me. It is even better now 108/69.

I read yesterday's posts, and I watched some of the Washington @ Green Bay game. Then I fell back asleep, bringing my sleep total somewhere near twenty hours.

"It's Alive!" I feel back to normal now. Fatigue creeps up on me slowly. About every ten days I end up sleeping through an entire day. If I did any less, I would be all but stationary. Oh well, it's an odd life, but I'm Alive, thank God.

My Lionel "Night Before Christmas" boxcar arrived yesterday. That was fast shipping by the USPS. She is a beauty! I can't wait to put it on the track and power up the little LED lights in the Christmas trees decorating the sides.

I see my Birds swept the Pirates. I only now began to watch the replay of that game. My boys are looking good for next year!

With my blood pressure in the safe range it is time to get ready for work.

Thank God we are alive!

Thanks Everybody for respecting what I like to call my "Happy Place"

Have an enjoyable day Everybody and never forget you are all Capital people, God Bless Us Everyone!

Do you send messages to the offenders of the forum? If not, can you please send me one so that I can learn from my errors? I don't remember what I posted yesterday, let alone what I did yesterday in a lot of cases, so that might help.

Thank you.
