Morning all,

64° and partly cloudy high later of about 90°. One weather forecaster says 89°, another says 91°. so about 90°.

I like many of you remember where I was on September 11th, 2001. I was on my way to the office when I heard a plane hit the first tower and heard the news as a breaking story on the radio. Watched the 2nd plane hit the second tower as it was being covered. Hard to realize it's been 24 years.

I have a new hire to get setup.

Good morning all!

The temps will continue to build today. Yesterdays high hit 80F. Today high will reach 82F and continue to get warmer later this
week. A/C went on late last night, hopeful for the last run of the year.

Yesterdays dental check-up went off without a hitch. No follow-ups and a see you in 6 months visit. It was a rare visit. Usually
he finds something he wants to address. This is 2 in a row I have gotten in and out without having my pocket picked.

Have a few things to get done around the house today, but really not much exciting going on.

Volleyball game tonight is away, so dinner will be out somewhere. There is a culvers where we are going so that probably
will be the vote.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good Morning gang!

Woke up this morning with a clear head, no fever and not coughing! Awesome!

Sir Fluffybutt was not happy that I stayed in "his" recliner all night, but as I told him, "Who pays the bills around here?"

Gonna charge through today, and maybe, just maybe I can start detailing the F7 in so many pieces on my workbench!

Good morning from So. Central Wisconsin where like most Americans I can tell you were I was when the planes hit. What terrible day!

Weather here is 60f degrees now 80+ later and a 6% chance of rain per the WeatherChannel app

The layout work session 45 minutes away was good

Today my wife says to start emptying the flower pots and containers. They’ve been being watered but I think last week we must have gotten a frost. They’ve been terrible looking since. This will be a couple weeks early but they’d be seeing the compost bins anyway. There are 12 containers 4’ long about 8” wide, over 50 pots and I doubt I’ll finish today but I will start sometime this morning

The niece had been at NYU a couple weeks when the planes hit the towers. She was in the shower when the 1st plane hit but 2 roommates did and she said they freaked. She watched the 2nd plane hit from her dorm room and she said an immediate silence went through her dorm floor.

Good Morning All. Mostly clear and 65°, maybe 96° today through the weekend. Low-90's beginning Monday.

It's the weekly grocery trek today, I'm sure that my wife will add another stop even though she traveled to town yesterday for a doc appointment. My afternoon is open with probably some light yardwork action. The dishwasher awaits me but I might get to it ahead of the grocery trek.
Lazy day yesterday for the most part, did a load of laundry and about 20 minutes of light mowing. Made some modest adjustments to the retirement accounts. Topped it off with homemade spaghetti sauce and Italian sausage for supper.
I forgot to post yesterday that I got the blood draw results back from the doctor Tuesday. This one was for mainly for kidney function and cholesterol count which he forgot to include on my previous visit. All things are within range with a cholesterol count of 170 and triglycerides at 108; both of which I have had past problems with. One other result from last Friday's visit was a new medicine to add to the daily intake. This new one in conjunction with other BP meds seems to have worked, finally. My readings since starting it have been exceptional for me. Highest in the last 5 days is 136/72. I have been in the 145/78 range for over 25 years.

Not much going on out in the train shed right now. I am continuing to go through boxes of stuff from under the layout. While I still haven't found the sanding sticks that I set out to find, I am getting a lot of miscellaneous stuff sorted and organized. I can't believe how many different boxes, Ziploc bags and other containers of diesel detail parts that I have encountered. They're all getting organized in one parts cabinet. Same thing for lots of other details like junk piles, trash cans and parts of forgotten white metal detail kits. To break the monotony, I ran some manifest freights from one end of the layout to the other. Running trains keeps the track clean. I did finally get the maintenance train out of the way and back on it's home track in the staging yard. While it provided some interesting switching operations as it moved around for the last month, it was now getting in the way.

Tom O - Have you been able to connect with Terry yet? EDIT: Never mind I just saw your morning post today.
Karl - Glad to read that you're feeling better today. Hope that it lasts.

Everyone have a wonderful Thursday.

74°F at 0915 this morning. A couple of minor items to take care of before lunch, and that's it for today. Supposed to be 90°F today, but dewpoint is still so low there is no heat index. Yesterday, we had a high of 89°F, but you sure couldn't tell it. I had all of the windows open and it was very pleasant indoors yesterday.

I think I can hold out until Saturday or Sunday without the A/C but we'll see what happens with the dewpoint.

Heard the shocking news, I see no posts so I assume political and is a no go or removed as this might be but I want yo u to know I was shocked and saddened. My prayers to the family. He is one year younger than my youngest :(
Edit I said is but of course it is actually was.
We understand! Political is forbidden and we have been known to push it but today it’s a definite no no. Terry is good at warning us but yeah, not today

Yeah, the terrible events yesterday in Utah are probably left best off the public forum here. I think we're all agree it was terrible and not the way any thinking individual of any political stripe would agree with.

It was actually less than an hour from here and at the university my son attended before his mission time, though he was remote. I used to work at a building right around the corner (back in the late 90s) that later was sold to become the alumni house. This one is close for us...

Today is the day we remember the terrible events in NYC, PA, the Pentagon, and the day we honor those who were impacted directly, indirectly, and over the next two decades.

changing the tone a bit decided to share the first glimpses of fall color:

early fall 2.JPG

The St. Francis is a family tradition, Grandma, mom, and now we have his likeness gracing our estate.

The greens have faded and the yellow goldenrod is beginning to lose some of it's luster

A view from our porch showing off a little of our firewood. There are three more piles like this scattered around the estate, I will be hauling them up with the wheelbarrow next summer, they will be next winter's firewood. The dry wood is much easier to push..

The tarp goes on following our this dry spell, I like the wood exposed to the sunlight all summer.

9/11...When I went on duty put a rifle and extra clothes in the cruiser.

Today was a much better day, it's up to 92 here but LadyC and I went to the White County Fair today as our g'niece Emma was showing some of her goats. She got a Second and Third place award, so she will get to go to State and show and compete there next month. For those of you who have never been to a Fair, go sometime and watch the livestock showing, the kids are wonderful.
