Went to work this morning, stayed about 3 hours before the feverish feelings came back, went home and hid under a pile of blankets for a bit. I just can't seem to shake this bug! Now the ears are sore and there is a slight ringing all the time.
Hope you feel better soon!

We had the similar bug blow through our hose a couple of weeks ago, and it took quite a while to shake it.

Good afternoon,

65 and sunny, headed for 75. Sunny outlook for several days.

Scheduled myself to work on the suburban this afternoon, maybe finish prepping the drivers side so I can start with the final body putty coat there. I knew this would be a nearly endless project if I want it nice, luckily I have lot of time...

For the train shed, I have decided to put in my street and building lights next. Been putting that off, but I purchased the accessory bus wire a couple weeks ago and there is nothing to hold me back. I have a huge selection of street and area lights, as well as plenty of smaller bulbs for the structures, so nothing left to buy there.

Also, decided on a stock pen for the open space by the Crex warehouse, realized they had one in town by the tracks and I have 7 stock cars.

More later, when things speed up a bit online

Late today. I had a lot going on this morning and topped it off with grilling chicken out back before noon so I could beat the heat.

Hope everyone is well today. Or at least feeling better!

I am currently researching a rare Walther P99 TA. This model had several modifications from the first variation that was produced. The specifications were for the Baden-Württemberg Polizei. 50 examples of this unusual variation were built for T&E and sent to BWP. 25 of the pistols were returned for unknown reasons and were sold on the civilian market. 12 of the 25 were imported to the States. 11 are known to exist. One is on GB now for $3,500.

There is another possible example at a gunshop not far from me. I'm going to have a look at it Friday. When I saw it yesterday, I did not ask to handle it, as I am intimately familiar with the P99. The only thing that struck me as odd was that the decocker button extended to the right side of the slide so a lefty could operate it too. This was one of the requirements of the BWP and Walther obliged them. The sales tag for the P99 was covering most of the front end of the slide and I could not see what was roll marked. I did not think anything of this at the time, but upon returning home I knew even P99s at the end of production never had a wide ambi- decock button.

I'll find out Friday. Until then, mums the word.

They deserve to be remembered I feel for the people in the buildings, but those on the planes omg
At the time I still worked in that world albeit in another country
I did not personally know anyone effected either at the incident or work related
So my shock was less but I remember the talk about the planes the mayhem on the ground zero and some of the retribution
A heinous act

Two friends/business associates were present in one of the buildings that were destroyed. They did not survive.

Afternoon all,

Finally able to close my oldest ticket. A police captain turned in his notice 120 days ago and HR opened the termination ticket at that time. His last day was today, but he was gone as of yesterday, so I was able to turn off his account access today. Always nice to get them closed down. Just 2 tickets remain until another one opens.

I was working on another one of my long term cases today when the coordinator came to my office and asked if I'd had a chance to work anymore on the case. I laughed and said as a matter of fact, I had been for the past hour and was sending an email to our vendor with a question. Still waiting on an answer, but the rest of the work will take literally 15 minutes to complete, or I may already be done based on his answer...

The events on 9/11 affected many of us living in the Metropolitan Tristate Area. Either directly, a victim or indirectly, a close relative of a victim, or people you encounter on a daily basis. Twenty four years later, we still remember events as though they were today. I also still remember the unsuccessful attempt by the same cast of characters,a few years earlier, vividly, because I was closer, and looking right at the towers when the attempt to blow them up with explosives was made. Never Forget!

My oldest sister was in the World Trade Center when the 1st attempt was made . A van full of explosives attempted to bring it down in the underground parking lot. She was working for CSX at the time living in Ft Lee N.J. and was there for a sales meeting. Luckily she was unscathed.

OK, FINISHED WEDNESDAY ADDAMS SEASON 2

I'll keep spoilers out of this:

The last four episodes are what makes the show special. The first four just tie up a lot of plot threads to set up the plot threads for the last four.

Overall, it's a convoluted season. Stick with it. I'm hoping season three will be better, but you shouldn't skip this one. Just expect more blood, and less mystery.

My mother was a fan of hers. Particuarly on Alice that she watched every Saturday night when it was airing on network television.

RE: 911

I worked at a gunstore/range at the time that rented automatic weapons. Those stayed in the safe that day, and instead of being armed as usual with a handgun, we were all armed with rifles that day and took turns guarding the front door out of the line of sight of the entry. One of us occasionally strolled the outer perimeter of the building.

Scott AFB was on lockdown. My mother later told me she wasn't able to exit the base until nearly 1800 that evening because of all of the traffic when the lockdown ended.

The act had a far reaching effect for the entire country. Had I still been in the Air Force at the time, I can only imagine what was happening at Whiteman AFB that day.

WIllie had it. The two beams of light represent the two fallen towers--they project the light upward from the ground centers of both buildings as far as I know--and they also represent the homeward journey of the three thousand (and more) souls who were lost that day. A brilliantly simple and truly inspired idea, IMO.

Growing up in New York City, I have a few links the events of 911. My first full time job was for a shipping company. Tower 1 was just coming out of the ground. The owner had made lease agreements to move into Tower 1. That company was wiped out on that fateful day. Two friends from the neighborhood watched from the Brooklyn side of the river. One had a hard time telling me of her watching as the second plane hit some fifteen years later.

The stat at the end of the video is mind boggling, at least to me. Dunkirk boat lift, 393,000 French & English soldiers rescued in 9 days. 911 Boatlift over 500,000 in 9 HOURS,

NEVER FORGET

STAY SAFE
LATER
