My phone is so old it won’t update past 10 am I bothered not hardly although the battery sometimes runs out faster than I’d like shutting all the apps helps doh
Yeah, I have a IPAD that dies quickly now. Since it requires putting it in the oven to replace the battery, I haven't done it yet. Not sure if it still receives updates anymore since it is old.

Not food motivated, she doesn't walk she patrols, and she thankfully stopped chewing about 4 years ago. Protecting her flock (us) and driving coyotes away is her job.
Good evening folks, 76 and sunny here, a gorgeous day here. Good services at Church today, then a power nap afterwards. Working a half day tomorrow so I will sleep in a bit [8AM or so]. LadyC bought me a new brand of coffee beans, so will try those out tomorrow. Usual complaints at work yesterday about my coffee....cowards. As my Grandpa used to say "It doesn't take near as much water to make coffee as some people think.".
Harvest of some things was great. I canned 30 pints of Green Beans and a lot of Tomato sauce that I didn't bother counting. The Onion harvest was also very good and the stored Onions should last until Christmas. The English Peas were adequate until an early May heat wave shut them down. They're quite sensitive to temperatures above 90° F, or 32° C in your world. Lettuce, Radish and Spinach made it until it got warm as well. The Yellow Squash was great and I still have one left in the fridge; however the Zucchini did not bear at all, despite hand pollination. The Jalapeno Peppers did alright, but the grasshoppers got the Bell Pepper plants before they had a chance to pollinate. Health issues took me down in mid-June and a couple of bushels of Tomatoes were left unpicked, although I had canned a lot before then. Other than the Tomatoes, most stuff doesn't grow here after the heat in mid-June.
I cleared out the garden, as the tomatoes were done and almost dead, took out the remaining beets as they got past me, peppers kinda small, were harvested. I still have the 3 parsnips. They won't be ready until after a hard frost. I also cut down the okra.
Everything hauled to the city's compost site. Peach tree still has several broken branches that I'm leaving until late winter, when I normally trim them back. They are still feeding the tree, and I'd rather have the tree come back properly next spring. I had 3.5 bushels this year. Wife was after me to get the rotten fallen peaches picked up. After a couple weeks, there are only some peach pits under the tree.
I spent the rest of the afternoon icing down both knees as it's been more movement than I've done since before the replacement.
Terry: Hope all turns out ok!
Chad: Hope the job search ends soon! 11 years ago I finally found the job I have. I spent 14 months on unemployment in a 30 month period. I will say age discrimination is a real thing. I know being in IT is sometimes a hard field.
I saw 2 of the grandson’s soccer games today. They got destroyed 2-6 in game 1 this morning and the grandson said he thinks of his new head coach as “white noise”. That infuriated his dad who had been his co-coach of his soccer teams since pre-kindergarten. They talked it out and later the SIL told me, “ he makes good sense”. Anyway he didn’t start game 2 and neither did his 2 buddies. But the 3 came in together with 8 minutes gone in the 1st half. Within 10 minutes all 3 scored on 3 beautiful give and go passes. The coach then pulled all 3 and the other 4 who missed Saturday’s game. He could be heard telling the team they have to play together not as individuals. I’m not a follower of soccer but I know good team work when I see it. His team did win 7-0 as the grandson scored 2x’s and his 2 buddies 5x’s. They played maybe 10 minutes in the 2nd half and maybe 25 minutes all game. After the game one of the other boys on the team a goalie was told by the coach he was NOT good enough to play at this level. The kid just had a shutout!
I didn’t go to the 8pm game that per text messages is now in the 2nd half. The head coach was not at the game. I don’t know why but I can imagine! It was 6-1 at half per the daughter’s messages. Says the boys are a happy group. This is the team they lost to at the 8:15am game this morning.
I watched the 2nd 1/2 of the GreenBay/Detroit NFL game. Impressive win by the Pack over the Lions. This might be another fun season for the Packers who the CBS announcing boredom team of Nantz/Romo said are the youngest team in football (American version)! I have a tendency to discount anything those 2 utter and will check that out.
Tomorrow is my day to relax and let things fall as they may. Terry is still on Maui and there is concern about the hurricane that will be hitting or missing Maui and maybe now all of Hawaii! The governor declared an emergency for the islands just in case. Terry has never been through a hurricane.
I just realized I have not eaten since 11am. A steak sounds good…
Hockey practice for 3on3 teams start Tuesday with games Friday and Saturday. Fall hockey season try out practices start next week. They will pick teams the last week in September. The 3 buddies will be joined by the buddette who will be the goalie on their 3on3 team. She’s pretty good but she has doubts that she’ll make the regular season team with the 3 buddies. The 4 of them have been pretty inseparable since June and have together organized the 3 so far slot car races. The daughter thinks she is going to unintentionally bust up the 3 buddies when the 3 boys realize she is a damn good looking young lady! The 3 boys are 11 years old, buddette turned 12 last month!
