Can anyone help me identify this wagon, I saw it last year when I went to Hamburg, but I'm clueless as to what it's supposed to be.

Looks to have some kind of red fan, anyone have any idea ?
My vote is rail vac. You can see the wires at the bottom of the red part, meaning that the fan is pulling air .

Hope the loco is pushing to have the fan help with fwd motion...

Good morning, Everybody!

First things first!
Orioles 6 Padres 2
Nationals 5 Marlins 2

I haven't seen my Birds' game yet, more on that later. Consider that fair warning. I started the replay, but they are still in the pregame show "Blah, blah, blah, yackety-smackety"

The Nationals (my other team) looked good again, but I'll spare you the details.

My fasting glucose is 80 and my blood pressure is 100/69. 😁

All is well here in southeast Baltimore.

Have you heard Baltimore has its lowest murder rate in fifty years? And no, it has nothing to do with me being semi-retired! 🤪

Now it is time for me to get ready for work, thank God!

Have an enjoyable day Everybody, I wish you all the best!

We need a train song; you might not have heard this version. It will wake you up!

Good morning all. A day of rainfall.
Flo, can I have Eggs Benedict and tea please.

Workmen are here renewing the bathroom.

Dawn still not 100%. She had two nurses attend yesterday. The Vampire Nurse is visiting today.

I mentioned earlier that Hadrian's Wall is just over the horizon.

The first picture of the wall is the scene beyond our house.
Edit. My daughter and granddaughter walked 'The Roman Wall Walk' last year. Rather them than me. I prefer to look at it. 🤣

Have a great day! ;)

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with Walls and dikes nearby. One of these years, I'll cross the pond to go see the one named after Offa. Only thing is I might not want to come back. Scone and clotted cream every morning? Yes please.

Got a bit over 500 words worded this morning on the story. The main character (the sleuth in the mystery) now has a boyfriend... and one with her unique talent. He can see and hear ghosts too. He's the old Celtic version of the Grim Reaper, so it comes with the title. And I'm slowly figuring out how to work him into the plot. He can't overshadow the main character. Bit of a conundrum.

Other than laundry, not sure what today will bring. Wife says we're making a pizza tonight.

In other news, it was a year ago yesterday that we lost my mother, AKA "Crazy Granny". The memories on Facebook from her grandkids have been popping up. On the weekend, my sister posted a memory that say "Mom sat up and wanted Ice Cream". That was in the final spiral for Mom.

Turns out both sis, and my wife and I headed out for ice cream that day. Must have been Crazy Granny telling us to remember her with her favorite treat.

I doubt that would be the Dullahan, Ireland's Harbinger of Death. As he is a headless horseman riding a black steed carrying his own grinning head under one arm. He uses a whip made from a human spine and carries a lantern made from a human skull. Not the friendly type.

Maybe the Ankou, the Brenton Death Collector. He is a skeletal figure or shadowy spirit wearing a wide-brimmed hat and long cloak. He drives a creaky death cart filled with the souls of the recently deceased.

Somehow, I can't see either one having a girlfriend. Which is why I am not a fiction writer. Creativity is one of my weaknesses.

It sounds like an interesting story.

A fitting way to remember and honor your mom.

Back to your question. Without having seen the play but from your description I will say, It's about respect or in Devers' case, a lack thereof. Standing at the plate watching a homerun leave the park shows no respect for your opponent. In my mind it shows no respect for the game.
@Marlin39 I saw the homerun and the brawl the resulted. First, I don't like fighting in baseball. It sets a bad example for young players.

From what I saw the pitcher, Kyle Freeland overreacted. Devers' "showboating" was disrespectful, but not unusual in today's game. Considering the season Freeland is having (3W-14L) I can understand his frustration. But he hurt his team by being ejected.

Good Morning All. Clear and 67° outside right now. Been sleeping with the windows open since last week. Should hit 91° again today; the NWS is now predicting 101° for tomorrow. Then the bottom drops out Saturday and the weekend highs might be around 80° with clouds and possible rain on Sunday. Won't return to sunny and warm until next Thursday.

Today starts once again with the dishwasher which ran last night. If it has dried up enough later, I hope to mow as everything is growing again and parts are looking scraggy.
Yesterday the physical therapy place called and asked if I wanted to come in an hour earlier since they had a cancellation. I accepted and the therapist really worked me. He is seeing improvement in my endurance after four sessions. Just 8 more to go. I had skipped some of the home workouts since the last visit when I wasn't feeling well.

It wasn't much of a day out in the train shed yesterday, but it was productive. I did find 4 of the dozen or so freight cars that I am missing pictures of in my inventory database, so that's moving along. Did some general cleanup along the way in a distracted moment. I also made some progress on repairing a laser-cut wood structure that has been on the repair list since last year. After the water got in through the damaged roof after last years tornado, the peel & stick trim on many structures loosened up and curled away. It's been a slow process of applying very small amounts of Gorilla super glue gel in the right places and weighting things down to get them all back in place. The original adhesive just doesn't always seem to work. That whole tornado episode thing has set back layout completion by a couple of years. I had originally targeted mid-2025 as the completion date, but between re-doing and repairing stuff, and unexpected health issues, I have revised that to the end of 2026 or early 2027. I have written off ever getting a helix between levels done, but I am perfectly happy having what is essentially two different layouts to run on.

David - My positive thoughts and prayers go out for Dawn right now.
Tom O - That is a late start to the school season compared to this area. Most districts started 2 weeks ago. The district 12 miles away is starting their second year of 4-day school weeks. More than 200 of the 500 school districts in Texas are now on the 4-day/week schedule, mostly rural districts. As Steve posted, the state requirement is now minutes/year instead of days/year to accommodate those districts.
Steve - Great news about Count Nibbley.
Louis - BP is still elevated but stable. Mine has been elevated for over 50 years! Maybe the medication adjustment made last Thursday is finally taking effect. I have been feeling fine since midday Sunday. I still don't trust the readings from the new monitor yet. I don't add salt or sugar to anything that I prepare, but I do get some from pre-packaged food items.

Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday.

“Angel of Death” is what their career is. Who knows what they do on their day off?

Good morning from wet Wisconsin! Per the frog gauge out front we got just under 1/2” of rain. That’s Mr. Frog in line with the stop sign and you can see the collection beaker

No idea what really happened in the apartment complex yesterday afternoon. But the funeral home Hearst was there. I did notice one of the really overweight dog walkers was missing the balance of the day. She also was missing from the smokers section of the sidewalks down the street. As I have no interests in a railroad scanner I have even less interest in a police scanner. But thanks for the suggestions!

It rained over night, the temperatures will drop to the low 60’s for the high for the balance of the week and rain continues in the forecast till Sunday. Therefore with no sitting out front I won’t be hearing any of the neighborhood gossip. I don’t buy either of the local newspapers so I won’t see the local police report. No big deal to me as I’m actually not that interested in the day to day stuff. But occasionally like a few weeks ago the blocking of my mailbox, driveways along with others caused a stir. I do occasionally remember to check the neighborhood Facebook page.

I flipped ( rare for me) on the TV this morning for some local news. Ginger Zee on Good Morning America this morning is looking outstanding in pink. Legs that go forever!

Not sure what to do today. I did promise the grandson I’d check the slot track for any issues before Saturday’s races. This is the 3rd time he’ll be hosting. The 1st session I attended and the 2nd we were traveling.

I seem to have no current interest in the trains. I do have a paper mill project for a friend, it’s sketched out, the facades are cut out but that’s it. He’s traveling till the 21st so I can’t go over to fit the facades to see how they work out. This shall pass.

I meet around 4 this afternoon with the realtor handling my subdivision. She has a showing at 2 so the 4 is an estimate. Her initial reaction to putting in more foundations was positive. She says the “local real estate market is very robust” and I know there is a big shortage of available $500,00 to $600,000 homes with 3000 sq ft and up with unfinished basements! Affordable housing in this area is now considered under $400,000!,! I can’t believe I just wrote that! Our 1st house we built was 1500 sq ft for $50,000 in 1980! That was a huge stretch for us. How the USA world has changed

Enjoy the day

Thank you. I just don't get it though, with the money they make now, that they pull this stuff.

The dogs....Great Pyrenees....Livestock Guardians...Jaw strength greater than a pitbull or rottweiler. The only breed with greater jaw strength is also a livestock guardian, Anatolian Shepard. The breed was bred from the Mastiff.

Yes, males do get BIG. Polar bears.

I tend to draw from the Mabinogion.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arawn. In the Welsh myth's he's also referred to as the Reluctant Escort for when he's escorting souls to the afterlife. R. E. Reluctant Escort. That became Ari in the books.

Besides being a great magician, Arawn is portrayed as a great hunter and it became connected that in the fall season – when Calen Gaef which is considered the first day of winter in Wales (November 1st) comes around – that Arawn and his hounds would go hunting for any souls of the dead that had not crossed over and take them to the Otherworld. He would continue his hunt throughout the winter until the coming of Calen Mai, the first day of May, when it became summer again. Thus, Arawn and his supernatural hounds the Cŵn Annwn became associated with escorting the souls then to the Otherworld.

I have been feeling fine since midday Sunday.
That is what is most important, I'm glad to hear it.

Could it be that a slightly elevated blood pressure is normal for you? We are all different.

“Angel of Death” is what their career is. Who knows what they do on their day off?
Terry, you are in the wrong line of work. You would have been a better replacement for Johnny Carson.

I just don't get it though, with the money they make now, that they pull this stuff.
I think money is the problem. They are out of touch with reality. Many act-like spoiled children.

Thank you, remarkably interesting dogs! I have never seen one before or since.

The place I delivered to could be a breeder or a trainer. They had several pens of dogs. Most couldn't get to me. I have no idea how many dogs there were. My wife estimated at least a dozen surrounding me. She wouldn't get out of the car. God knows how many in all the other pens.

I was surprised they didn't wake the owners. The barking when they noticed me was tremendously loud! The group I encountered suddenly stopped barking. I'm guessing they sensed I wasn't a threat. Once the old girl escorted me, they all quieted down. A few barked again as I was leaving, as if they were saying goodbye. They are amazing dogs. I feel blessed to have met them. My wife was happy they didn't kill me!

I tend to draw from the Mabinogion.
Very cool, but I had to look that up.

You are brilliant, how in God's name do you know all this stuff? All this illustrates why I am a proud financial supporter of WikiMedia.

I admire your creativity as well as your intelligence. Thank you for sharing some inside information.

Good morning all!

Happy Hump day to the workers of the world!

Kind of a dreary day today. Mostly cloudy with a few peaks of sun, but its cool out. Currently 68F, but there is a 10MPH wind. High is only
supposed to reach 73F. Looking at the radar a batch of rain is on our doorstep. We will see if it makes it to us or falls apart like the trend
has been most of the summer. We could use the moisture, but I'm not complaining, it has slowed the grass cutting.

Been doing some light household duties this morning, but not really much going on at the moment.

Nothing train wise yesterday. We had a volleyball game last night which was a loss in 3 sets. They played well, but the service errors
really cost them. They took the loss well and will re-group for another game tomorrow night.

Have safe day everyone!

Good morning all. 77 here, heading for 86 and mostly sunny. Today hit 64 on the Annual Count, the body feels quite a bit older! Picked up some Hazelnut syrup last night and trying it in the coffee this morning, jury is still out. Gonna run a couple errands later, then church tonight.
@troyphoto what is your pen name? I would like to check out your work.
