Glad your feeling better today!
Thank you!

That is the thing. I feel fine when it gets low.

When it happens at the doctor's office, they make me crazy "Do you feel lightheaded or dizzy?" No! What's the difference? Get me more water please, so I can go home! Make my appointments in the morning and this won't happen. They know better than to try to send me to the ER (zoo) I will not go.

Schools in your area start much later than ours. My daughter is already starting her third week.

I always thought school shouldn't start till after Labor day. Thats how it was for us as kids. Not sure why ours start so early.
Holiday vacation, spring break, easter week, and a host of other “holidays”. Most state laws require 180 days of school per year. If you take two weeks off in March, you will have to start a week or two earlier to make up for it.

I want a cookie.

All gone?!
They are going fast, better hurry and get over here if you want one

Reminds me of my colonoscopy last month. They were taking my vitals and the nurse asks me what my normal heart rate is because it was unusually slow/low. I said my normal was 48-52 bpm. I had her worried for a minute. My PCP does an EKG annually as part of my physical and explained that I just have a very efficient heart.

Yeah we started after Labor Day as kids. I think both Arizona and Mass. my daughter in HS has been two weeks already. Today starts the third week. The district just north of us (we live on the edge) started a week prior to our schools. We know because my daughter’s water polo team is in the other district (it’s not an official school sport but pretend it is and have HS teams). She was “laughing” at her friends who were already at school before she started.

Hello all, a couple of minutes til Noon here and 83 going to 86 and sunny today. Our dinner last night was delicious and fun. We played Cornhole and then tried to get a hummingbird out of the garage. We failed last night but he seems to have "escaped" this morning. Gonna finish up cleaning the Carnival today and take it to the carwash after gassing it back up. LadyC is going to take me to a rib place tonight. Terminix guy is coming about 1pm. Those are the highlights for today.

We started the Friday before the Labor Day weekend for a half-day of getting settled in. School was usually out by 03JUN, but it would vary by a day in either direction.

I live 40 miles south of where I grew up and kids in this town have been in school for two weeks already. They get out the last week of May, but it depends upon how many snow days are used. I figure that's why school starts so early around these rural parts. I swear, school is called if it even looks like snow anymore. Even if it isn't snowing yet, but will start before the school day is over, they call it.

Can't have the little urchins trudging through 2" of snow.😲 However, since it is really rural around here, buses have a difficult time navigating back country roads in snow, and some students come here for miles around to go to school. In some cases I can see why school would be cancelled.

After watching the replay of yesterday's Orioles and Padres game there was much to be impressed by.

First, the score, Orioles 4 Padres 3.

Orioles starting pitcher Kyle Bradish looked good in his second start after returning from his rehab assignment after last year's Tommy John surgery.

The Orioles bullpen did well. Especially Keegan Akin's shut down 9th inning to get the save.

Orioles' rookie, Jeremiah Jackson went 3 for 4 with a solo homerun.

Possibly most impressive (at least to me) was Orioles' rookie, Dylan Beavers. He went 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI in yesterday's game. In the top of the seventh inning he drove in the go ahead run. Which turned out to be the game winning run. In the bottom of the seventh Beavers ran down a drive off Manny Machado's bat that would have scored a run to tie the game. "A run saved is a run earned"

Big Sam Basallo was impressive as well. He went 2 for 4 with two doubles and 2 RBI in yesterday's game.

The arrival of Big Sam and his record setting contract extension has overshadowed Dylan Beavers. But Dylan is just as important to the future of the Orioles. I would not be surprised if Beavers beats out big Sam for the 2026 Rookie of the Year award. It would be even better if they finished #1 and #2. Considering both were top 100 prospects that would award the Orioles 3 additional draft picks!

Orioles GM Mike Elias is a genius. It's too bad he couldn't prevent all the injuries that derailed the Birds this year. Only three of the players on the Orioles' opening day roster have not spent time on the Injured List this year. Of course, that doesn't count all those who were injured before the year started. Not to mention the many who were added to the roster and later injured. In all my years of following baseball I have never seen another season like this one. I hope I never see anything like it again! Oh well... "Tough titty makes a strong baby"

The Baby Birds got it done yesterday!

Who will step up today?

Tyler Wells will take the hill for the Birds today. He is making his first MLB start since undergoing Tommy John surgery in June of 2024.

Go O's!

I just have a very efficient heart.
The heart of an athlete. Come to think of it, I may have mentioned that before. I also suffer from CRS. 🤪

I once had a heart rate in the 50s. Now it is in the mid-70s. When my blood pressure drops critically low my heart will race as high as the mid-90s. They tell me that is a good thing for me. It means the receptors that help to regulate blood pressure have not been damaged by diabetes. I'll take all the good news I can get! 😁
