Good evening. 54° currently. This afternoon, it was 76° and mostly sunny. This morning we took Miss Molly to the vets for her check-up and her shots. One hour later, Miss Molly was back home sleeping off the tranquilizer and shots. After lunch, we went for a walk in the park, 0.73mi and 1431 steps. Plan is to increase the distance to closer to a mile tomorrow and Friday. After returning from the park, I took a nap on the recliner...

In the top of the 9th, the Mets lead Miami 8 - 3, meanwhile, the Blue Jays lead the Bronx Yankees 4-0, also in the top of the ninth. Houston beat Baltimore 2 - 1, and the Phillies beat Atlanta 6 - 5 in 10.

Concerning the NMRA Achievement Program, anyone who can reach the level of MMR, deserves the recognition. You have earned it.

Not much else going on right now.

Good morning. It is 62f degrees now it may reach 77 this afternoon. Yesterday went well. The over night sleep was some what lacking. I think the 20 minute nap at 11PM was not helpful.

Haircut at 9 and some layout work after that.

Flo, a nice large iced diet Dr Pepper, Ty!

enjoy the day

Morning all,

67° and cloudy this morning, going for a high of 84° later.

Slept surprising well last night for the first time in a long time. Probably had something to do with the knee, as even my shoulders didn't ache when I got up this morning. Funny how one part of the body affects another.

Funny how when they are here they are reluctant to go home. :)

I have the same problem...but I like that problem.

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 74°, supposedly with a chance of rain this afternoon and tomorrow morning. Might happen as there is a system over in New Mexico that appears to be headed this way, maybe it will make it intact. The 1.5" or so over the last week isn't enough to consider the drought broken yet, especially since it fell cumulatively over 6 days.

Successful visits yesterday at the dermatologist, nothing was found, although he did take a small scraping to send to the lab. Ophthalmologist visit was a success as well. 20/20 vision in both eyes again, the cloudiness that I first went in for is gone and the whole world is brighter. Now, the major hassle of having the restriction removed from my drivers license. Used to be I could just walk in the office and be done in usually less than an hour. Covid brought about a policy change where you must schedule a time, (now limited), and retake all of the tests because I am over 70 or something. Meanwhile I'll just drive with them perched on the top of my head. Law simply states that I have to wear them, but doesn't specify over the eyes.

Between the doctor's visits, I stopped by Home Depot for a box of replacement fluorescent tubes for the overhead lighting in the train shed, plus two more smaller fixtures to install under the upper deck. Then over to Hobby Lobby for some miscellaneous supplies and paints.

The pool is still hovering in the 80°-81° range, so it is still useful; there's a slight initial shock getting in, but I liken that to getting into the ocean/Gulf whenever I have done that.

Weekly grocery trek today, the list filled up yesterday afternoon. Top of the wife's list is wine as we seem to be nearly out. Kroger o longer mails out a circular, so I have to look up sales items on the Internet as well as get my digital coupons there. Another hassle as I much prefer the printed circular myself.

Thanks to all who commented on the hobby shop interior. I intend to add a small LED to it so it is more noticeable.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I added roof details to the hobby shop.

Not many, but enough to break the monotonous flatness.
I made and added the sidewalk directly to the layout.

I'll be reviewing the figure box next to populate the area out front and probably also inside the store.
A long shot showing it's position next to Betty's Diner.

Which is next to the coffee shop on the other side.

I have decided to finish off the landscape around the diner next, now that I have decided to keep it there permanently.

So, speaking of figures, I sent some pictures to my granddaughter and she asked me on the phone yesterday, "How many people do you have?" I did a quick count at 1133 total with another 200 in the box ready to put out. I guess that I like painting these tiny figures!;)

Karl - One of your neighbors might call the cops if they saw Louis approaching your house!🤣
Patrick - When I just have a half hour for trains, I usually just run them instead of getting into a project. Sometimes it's too time consuming to set-up and take down for any meaningful project work.
I stopped kneeling at Mass five or six years ago. I'd say that better than 50% of the congregants at our church no longer kneel. And my knees aren't that bad, it's more the overall motion. I sorta kneel with my butt resting on the pew.
David - Is that Dubai train an actual photograph? Sorta looks like a painting to me.
Todd - Only 100 cars for your friend? I had to stop 9 years ago when I got to 800! And that's on the actual layout, many in staging, there's about 75 more in boxes that are too early for my era!

Everybody have a great day.

Good morning gang!

Bright sunny day on tap here. Started off at 51°, now 57°, heading to 74°.

Went to a viewing for SWMBO's boss's grandfather last night, stopped at a local family restaurant for dinner. Wednesday night special is meatloaf, 2 sides and a drink for $14.95. The meatloaf slab was 5x6 inches and 3 inches thick! I ate it all, but waddled to the truck afterward. Wife had chicken and a doggie bag, she will have the rest of her dish for lunch today.

Not long after getting home I passed out in a chair til 11, then off to bed. No trains!

Tomorrow, I'm playing hookey, I can't wait!

Good morning folks!

Fall is coming and already here for some of ya!

I was reading a little article I wanted to share. It's one of those things better late than never. Some of you may know and remember that I used to live in Florida over 17 plus years. I left for various reasons but I do like Florida for the most part just not the congestion or the summer heat. Anyhow, the years I lived there, I can not tell you how many times the state had sought to bring High Speed rails to the state to run the I-75 corridor and I-4 Corridor. I remember as far back as 1985. So many votes and so many naysayers. Well, it has finally happened but done by private entity which I might add is awesome! So I share this article with you and I truly hope the company continues to succeed and I support this and so many ways.

Here you are:

SAY, LOUIS ...
Put this in your craw and chew on it - amazing!

July 2, 1963 Warren Spahn, 42, and Juan Marichal, 25, pitch, the most amazing pitching duel in the history of the game. They both pitched 16 innings that day. Spahn throwing 201 pitches and Marichal throwing 227. The game ends on a walk-off home run by Willie Mays with the score at 1-0. Absolutely incredible.

Seems these days they can only go 6-7 innings?
