DAVID - Beautiful ship .. are those all balcony suites?
A beautiful ship indeed; as are all in the fleet. The ships are owned by Norwegian Cruise Lines; Regent Cruises is NCLs upmarket brand. All the staterooms are balcony suites and most have Butler's service.

Pre-Covid Seven Seas Navigator was in the Port of Tyne on a six night 'Round Britain'. The cheapest stateroom was $11,500 each. The dearest stateroom was a shade under $20,000.

I mentioned after our last cruise in not getting a decent picture of Sky Princess. I managed this time when in Gibraltar.

Good morning, all! A warm start to the day, 85 degrees. We got a little over 3 inches of rain over the past 2 days. The ground was so thirsty, there is no evidence of the rain. Mid 90's forecasted for the day.

Sherrel - Happy birthday. Don't worry about the touching the water thing. I mean you know what happens in cold water, right.

Well, the Conductress and the I celebrate 57 years together today. We are planning on going to dinner somewhere and then spending a quiet evening together.

Trains, I added 2 more signal lights. I'm not crazy about the green signal though. It seems overly bright.

Try putting a small dab of black paint on the center of the LED.

Good afternoon everyone, how is everything? I have had a pretty good day today, got a book on Speedrail (Milwaukee Rapid Transit), by Larry Sakar. Being a Wisconsinite, I love the old photos of Waukesha and Milwaukee. P.S, I would love to have a chat with any other Interurban fans that might be in this thread! I hope you all have a good afternoon :)

Afternoon All,

We got back from Sarasota this morning. Everything is put away. During MOH's class she won a door prize of a new sewing machine in the box ($250)! She was excited. She actually won a second prize (fabric) but gave it to someone else. I had a nice time in the train store bought some scratch building supplies, a REA van, several WS detail sets, some KD couplers, P2K wheels and some paint. Sorry no rolling stock or loco's. They did have a Pennsy I1sa perfect for hauling coal, but it had the long tender. No Go.

I'm feeling better but still get tired easy and still have loss of appetite.

Troy- Enjoy the trip. We've saved lots of humidity for you. :D

David- Nice photos. Nice to see you.

Willie- Nice detailing. I agree with Todd about the window box.

TomO- You've had great help on the layout.

Sherrel- Sounds like a lot of good eating.

Hughie- Congrats on the 57-year anniversary. That's a real achievement. You should be able to find opaque paint to dull them down.

Guy- Nice photos. The second is a keeper.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Love the first pic.

Good Morning All. Clear and 64° here on the estate. Yes, it finally rained yesterday, for about 20 minutes. But it left 0.7" in the rain gauge, not really enough to break the drought but probably enough to revive the Bermuda grass. Maybe more coming in the next week or so.

Yesterday was a screwed up day for me. It started with a plumbing issue that took two hours to correct, then the rain at midday stopped my outdoor project, so I gave up and went to the train shed. My project is to upgrade a shallow 200' drainage ditch, so water would flow more easily to the main ditch alongside the road. Over the years, the swelling and subsiding of the ground has caused areas of standing water whenever it actually rains like normal. The process is simple but time-consuming. I have to run the tiller at a shallow depth back and forth over the length, and then remove about 2" of dirt and deposit it somewhere else. Once done, it lasts about 20 years before needing to be done again. This makes the third time that I have had to do it. Just barely got started yesterday before the rain came.

Pool temperature bumped up to 79° by sunset yesterday, so it looks like I will get a few more days of use this week with temperatures in the low 90's all week. A good sunshiny day will always raise the temperature by 2°-3° in a day, now that I have taken the shade umbrellas down.

Regarding dining out - We went to a very nice Mexican place Thursday night. I noticed and pointed out to my wife several tables where people came in, got the chips and salsa and got their glasses of water, all complimentary; and then they got up and left! I hadn't noticed this behavior before, so it struck me as taking advantage of the system. So on our way out, my wife asked the seating hostess about it and she smiled and responded that it happened all of the time, and said "after all, it's free". She added that she knows who many of them are, so she tries to rotate them through several servers so no one gets screwed too badly. It's not the tip, but the loss of an available table that provides room for a real paying customer.

I did spend extra time yesterday out in the train shed. I almost finished the scene at the Perfect Perk Cafe. However all of the pictures are junk! I need to check out the camera to see what is wrong. So please excuse the crappy pictures.

I need to add the trash cans as soon as I find them in the train shed. I have a few more like this one, somewhere.View attachment 174165

Tom O - I've always referred to it as climate change, as it has been happening for millions of years.
I sure wish that I had a nearby buddy to solder for me. I am the worlds worst at soldering.
Willie, when the operations group found out I was building a new layout it opened things up to a whole host of helpers if I wanted it. They begged to help! I provide the layout, the materials and lunch. Pizza is not allowed I was told, mainly burgers, pulled pork and chips and to put out a pay jar! With my layout these guys are now working on 3 layouts this month. I have the next 2 Tuesdays scheduled.

I’m ok at soldering but he uses a resistance rig on the rails to the feeders. Can’t beat that. He did in less than 90 minutes what would have taken me a week of getting It done. Tuesday, he comes back to add feeders to the next power bus of 300’ and will have a helper. 2 other guys and I will be putting down roadbed

Not to worry, HUGHIE and KARL, The plan is to keep them all "high & tight"!

Congrats on the #57 - awesome achievement - -Nce layout shots; as WILLIE said being N scale -- that is something!

WILLIE - Really like the details on the plaza area, and building! Lots of activity there is neat looking. These anniversaries and birthdays are coming by way too fast. Mom and dad went to their 70th; he told me that they come faster and faster!

DAVID - Good to have you back! Great photos!

TODD - The BNSF photo is a really good photo! I will check out the others.

GUY - Was beginning to think that you fell of the side of a mountain! Great photos as well!

CURT - Glad to see that you are feeling somewhat better. Keep improving and take care of yourself.

I have TWO of the Spousal's flower boxes finished - she is rethinking the third one.
DARN - those 2x12x60's put together are heavy - whoo!
