total bill was 38.00 US before tip.
Sounds like a great deal to me.

Why is it whenever we go to a full-service restaurant, I spend over $100 for two people? I don't have a big appetite anymore. I bring home more than I eat. Worst of all I am seldom impressed.

I like the Hibachi grill, $40 for two, plus tips.

Nobody asks me "where do you want to go?" They know I will say McDonalds! The quarter pounder is the perfect food. Only a home cooked hotdog is better!

The truth is I would rather eat home cooked food. I only go because my pretty little Angel deserves a break sometimes.

She wants more outta life than your hotdog.

Good evening. 55° and clear.

Didn't do much exciting today. Zapped around the TV to see which games and other events were on, really not much of interest. Went down to the train room, and worked on my project car, An Athearn Red Box, (post BB but not an import), gondola that I weathered and created a load for. Only thing left to do is replace the trucks and couplers. I also removed the Trail Blazer train from the Layout.

Baltimore Orioles win tonight 8 - 0 over the Rays...O's back in first, for now.

Today was a beautiful day, sunny and cool, though the temperature got up to 77°. Low humidity and a nice Northerly breeze helped keep things cool. More of the same on tap for tomorrow.

Have a good evening.

Got up at 12:55 for a pee run
Woke at 2:55 with headache but drifted off again a moment later

Till an idiot set off fireworks at the shopping plaza on the other side of the neighborhood fence.

Got up to take an advil and get some water.

Time to lay this recliner back and get a few more hours, I hope.

Back awake! So howdy there MRR peeps and those wondering what show the congresswoman from Colorado thought she was going to see.

It's Troy again.

Last day at home for a week. So I'll not get much else in hobby done. Packing, cleaning, and wording some words are on the ageneda.

I got the orcs far enough to put on the bases. Both the bases and the rock walls were filament 3d printed, and sprayed with a desert sand color. I'll make the rocks look rocky later, and add some basing texture and tufts later. Right now I need to clear coat the orcs so I can drybrush them for extra highlighting.

I've been using Army Painter speed paints for the green and browns, and those were both first generation of the speed paints. So any additional moisture wakes them up and causes bleed-through into any paint applied over them... Clear coating stops it.

This is still a Lauren Boebert at Beetlejuice style down-and-dirty paint job though. The goal was to get them on the gaming table fast. And since these are the figures produced by the game company, I'll toss them into a slow grow painting competition just for extra points. But any further models (baring the one other Mantic brand unit I've got up next) in this army are going to be 3D printed. They've got much better detail, and character than these decade old sculpts.

Good Morning All. Clear and 64° here on the estate. Yes, it finally rained yesterday, for about 20 minutes. But it left 0.7" in the rain gauge, not really enough to break the drought but probably enough to revive the Bermuda grass. Maybe more coming in the next week or so.

Yesterday was a screwed up day for me. It started with a plumbing issue that took two hours to correct, then the rain at midday stopped my outdoor project, so I gave up and went to the train shed. My project is to upgrade a shallow 200' drainage ditch, so water would flow more easily to the main ditch alongside the road. Over the years, the swelling and subsiding of the ground has caused areas of standing water whenever it actually rains like normal. The process is simple but time-consuming. I have to run the tiller at a shallow depth back and forth over the length, and then remove about 2" of dirt and deposit it somewhere else. Once done, it lasts about 20 years before needing to be done again. This makes the third time that I have had to do it. Just barely got started yesterday before the rain came.

Pool temperature bumped up to 79° by sunset yesterday, so it looks like I will get a few more days of use this week with temperatures in the low 90's all week. A good sunshiny day will always raise the temperature by 2°-3° in a day, now that I have taken the shade umbrellas down.

Regarding dining out - We went to a very nice Mexican place Thursday night. I noticed and pointed out to my wife several tables where people came in, got the chips and salsa and got their glasses of water, all complimentary; and then they got up and left! I hadn't noticed this behavior before, so it struck me as taking advantage of the system. So on our way out, my wife asked the seating hostess about it and she smiled and responded that it happened all of the time, and said "after all, it's free". She added that she knows who many of them are, so she tries to rotate them through several servers so no one gets screwed too badly. It's not the tip, but the loss of an available table that provides room for a real paying customer.

I did spend extra time yesterday out in the train shed. I almost finished the scene at the Perfect Perk Cafe. However all of the pictures are junk! I need to check out the camera to see what is wrong. So please excuse the crappy pictures.

I need to add the trash cans as soon as I find them in the train shed. I have a few more like this one, somewhere.

Tom O - I've always referred to it as climate change, as it has been happening for millions of years.
I sure wish that I had a nearby buddy to solder for me. I am the worlds worst at soldering.
Karl - Couch shopping? Is that where you sit on the couch with a laptop and go shopping?
Sherrel - Good luck to Kate and her situation.
Troy - Never have eaten at a Logan's. None nearby. Have a safe trip to Tampa.

Everyone have a great day

Good morning to the striking folks walking those picket lines. I sure hope you guys know what you’re doing? Again it depends on which side of the aisle you sit on when viewing this event. I have a long time friend who had to go back to work a few years ago after he and the wife went their separate ways after he retired. Works for Ford in some sort of programming capacity and he was laid off as soon as the pickets went up.

In local weather it’s 59f degrees heading to mid70’s and still dry. We got around 6PM yesterday 10 minutes worth of rain. The pool will stay open till the water temperature falls below 75, with the solar cover that should get me into October. My lap pool is heated and is year round but it’s not a play pool.

The soccer team had a good time yesterday in the pool and they sure cleared out the eats. It was the 1st time Terry thinks in the last 20 years we had a pool party where we didn’t have official life guards. So, 3 parents at all times watched the kids in the pool. We rotated every 30 minutes and all was well. The normal crew we hire are now away at college and the 2 that were coming backed out on Thursday and I could not find replacements. I don‘t have much trust in parents thinking they are watching the kids in the pool but yesterday went well. I put 3 chairs around the pool for the watchers and they had to be in them. My pool my rules! Depending on weather there will at least one more party for the team and maybe one for the hockey team.

Last night the staging tracks were wired up and tested. We ran locomotives for almost 2 hours testing every inch of the nolix and the staging tracks. Terry and my buddy the soldering guy ran using their cell phones and I used the Power Cab throttle from NCE. The system handled with no issues 5 diesels running at once. Today I will hook up my ProtoThrottle and test that out.

enjoy the day

Good Morning All!
45F @ 62% and partly.

Was not quite awake and slurped my 1st coffee. While sitting and trying to focus at the wall, I found that Amtrak was 1.5 hours late so headed down to Libby Station for possible pix. Pretty dark still, so nothing moving at least. Had 2 of the new engines on front, 1 RPO/baggage and 9 coaches. More pix in CTCLibbyPix besides this teaser of BNSF nearing West Riverview:

Welp, kid that was working for us disappeared yesterday AM. Was working on skirting the RV then apparently grabbed is bag and walked. Nothing from him as to the why for's and stuff like that. Pretty fickle we think. Oh well, best of luck to him. He did get a lot of stuff done/started which is still a big help.

Morning all,

67° and clear going for a high later of 86°. That's about right for this time of year.

Already been to get the groceries, 2 loads of laundry, and mowed the yard this morning. Once the dew dries, I can get the weeds sprayed with 2,4-d. I let the get ahead of me this year, and with the excessive heat, I couldn't spray them.

Got a few more tomatoes as the cool down and humidity changes have made the start to ripen again. There were also a couple of cucumbers and peppers. Gotta remember to not plant them so close to the tomatoes next year.

Hey There - I have returned! Thank you all for the Birthday Wishes! Youngest daughter brought me over a HUGE burrito yesterday morning and we did not go to any games. Middle daughter (living with us) has two sick boys and we did not want to spread any possible cooties around to others, so I was able to watch two complete games: Kansas/Missouri and Georgia/South Carolina -- both teams I was pulling for, won -- that has not happened in a while? Georgia was Son in L's alma mata and I rooted for Kansas for some unknown reason? For my Birthday I had left over large white beans, ham and cornbread and a small bowl of daughter's homemade chilli with another slice of cornbread and a large slice of watermelon ... just what I wanted - no fuss!
I had told everyone beforehand that I did not want any gifts, but Kate went and outdid herself anyway with a beautiful card and gift certificate, I love this woman!

Looks like I am going to have to "play" with my meds again?
Last evening and again this morning my BP was 160's over 100's! Dang it: I have an additional 4 drugs that I had stopped taking due to the fact that they all have some sort of BP lowering in them and the Dr. ahead of my AF procedure had taken me off a couple of them and 1/2 others - to be able to raise my HR to an acceptable level and even after the AF treatment my BP and HR was like 80/40's and HR of 42 - I had no energy- so meds were dropped some now and others later - and I was in the 115/75 range with HR in mid 60's. Now, all of a sudden, I seem to have very high BP again - HR still mid 60's? Now I better read the effects and start back on whatever meds I need to add back in.
E-mail has been sent to cardiologist to advise him on the latest should hear tomorrow.

All you guys are talking about pool temps - I sure hate to hear that! That means temps are headed lower and I no longer like cold.

TOMO - How many kids are we talking about in the pool - and ages?
DAVID - Beautiful ship .. are those all balcony suites?
WILLIE - We have been "dry" here for two weeks and there has not been a word said over it. I am puzzled as she would not listen to me, but the daughters read her the act and so far, so good!

Now, I had better catch up with all the goings on - behind on my reading - again!
