Well, howdy there internet peeps and those still keepin it up

It's troy again...

Just sat for half an hour watching the online chat queue with my mail order pharmacy (the one we have to use for all except emergency prescriptions)...

I've got a prescription that seems to have jumped in their system from a 90 day refill (what my insurance will approve) to a give him 450 days all at once!

And it's been rejected twice on the auto refill. When I got the second "we're processing your refill" notice, I figured something was up, and without those little pills, nothing is up at home. ;)

I finally decided to just call them tomorrow. At least with the call going through my hearing aids (via bluetooth) I can do other stuff while I listen to "Your call is VERY IMPORTANT to us... Current wait time is XXXX minutes...."

Gotta get those pills refilled, or the wife might forget about me.

Hope your day is going better.

Hi, folks! Just dropping in for a quick coffee.
Haven't been around much lately, as we're trying to squeeze the max out of what's turned out to be a great summer with plenty of camping and horseback. I'll be getting up at 4am to head out again. Gonna drive the forestry trunk on the eastern slopes down to Nordegg.
We both want to do as much as we can since neither of us is working anymore.

I borrowed this internet photo to give you a hint of what's just around the corner:

I should be showing my mug around here more, when that snow hits the ground and it's modelling season.
Sherrel - So sorry to hear you are ailing. I do send you best wishes for full and speedy recovery.

That's brilliant, so I had to snag it, thx. I'm really not ready now to shovel more global warming or climate change off my sidewalk, but it's just about that time, sadly yes.

At least it's not flooding though, as with too many places in China. Fingers crossed as I say that of course.

Terry, the bank of Glen Burnie, financed my youngest daughter's first car. They told her she had to have a checking account with them to do auto pay. Instead, she drove twenty minutes once a month and dropped off a check. One way or another she had to pay; time is money.

At least now you know their game and you can minimize your cost.

Lets see if I can "kick" the door open this morning?
Too Pooped to Pop yesterday, again,; so called it an early night ... Of course I woke up at 1:30 - another issue of having a struggle to breathe - seems my COPD is acting up?
That hasn't happened in quite a spell.
Now, the nebulizer is on the nightstand, but the little refills are nowhere in sight. Wife and I have looked EVERYWHERE! I had not used then all up - there should have been a small box with at least a dozen or more present.
Guess I am stuck with just the inhalers until I can get to the pharmacy which is showing that Doctor's permission is required for refill - Joy, Joy. The order has been placed!

Good news fellows - I finished one of the three planter boxes for the Spousal Unit.
Coffee, FLO - AND plenty of it! Thank you.

Morning all,

54° and clear going for a high later of 80°. Supposed to get cloudy as the day progresses.

More painting on tap for today. Wife asked me why it seems to be taking longer to paint this time around, I reminded her that last time there was no furniture to move and I'm 9 years older.

Good morning. I now have to do battle with my employer and health insurance co.
It seems the employer entered incorrect info when they enrolled me, and I had a medical emergency yesterday, and coverage was denied. The conversation today will be--terse.

As a Packers fan, can't really say that I miss him, IMO it was time for a change on our team.
I was so ready 5 years ago for him to be traded, even more so a couple years ago after he won the MVP. But like theDiva before him, he made it so difficult to figure out if he was going to come back or not that it made teams leery of going after him in a trade. I truly am sorry he got hurt but the Jets got what was coming to them. Like Wilson forcing his way to Denver, there is karma

Good morning to all that are aging daily. Getting old is a tough chore but I believe better than being part of a pile of ashes in the ground or in a vase! It is 51f degrees and very gray looking out there. High today is a hopeful 66. The local channel Terry watches and listens to lost another meteorologist who is leaving Saturday. His partner is a lawyer and they are moving to Chicago. They have not replaced the Chief Meterorologist who left about 6 weeks ago for Minneapolis. That crew is now 3 and getting lots of air time. Lap pool water temperatures were 79 this morning!

With the exceptions of the landscaping and the roof on my lap pool this house is done. The final asphalt layer was done to the driveway yesterday which of course is not useable today. I had to call the landscapers yesterday to let them know how to gain access. Text message at 5 this morning was they will return Monday! Since they are not showing today, I can cut the grass that with the over night cool temperatures and sunny days has grown in well. The sprinkler system has been getting a good work out as since 8/14 we’ve received under a 1/2” of rain officially.

Terry wants to start another house on the next lot down from this one. We don’t have a subdivision as “such”. But we did have the surveyor create 20 lots, the required park and roadway on the 120 acres we allocated. While I am opposed to starting so soon, it is a good idea even though we always steered away from speculation and that’s what this would be. This house was the last construction project for our longtime contractor as he has turned the company over to his daughter. He and I were going to be partners on a project but that frizzled out. I know I cannot work with the daughter without her dad running interference. So I told Terry, she can go ahead and look for a contractor for the new project. Our Town is different from the City. We are not required to have affordable housing as a percentage of the subdivision but are required to have parkland.

My “ME” day went well yesterday. Did some layout work as I need to start running some trains. I did get 1 of the 2 tracks of the nolix installed and tested. Hopefully tomorrow the other track. I will triple check my math to make sure the grade is at 1.5%. Today is back to weathering

enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Cloudy and 68° with a hint of mist in the air. That doesn't count as rain to me. Still a chance of rain for the next three days with the greatest chance tomorrow right about the time I would normally leave for the weekly grocery trek. Yesterday was amazing with a high of just 78°. Sad though that the pool was warmer than the air. It's still at 82°, but I don't see much of a chance that it will get any warmer this season. Well, we got about 8 days past Labor Day this season which is about average. If the sun would come out and the temperature would rise to the lower 80's, I could still use it again. That won't happen until Saturday and the water might cool off too much by then.

Activity level outside was high yesterday, getting caught up on some of the many chores/projects that I chose not to do while we endured the 100°+ days in July, August and into last week. I even went for a second mile-long walk yesterday afternoon. North in the morning and south in the afternoon. Unfortunate that the neighboring Longhorns were in their back pasture and not out by the road for me to greet. No cows on the east side either as that farmer grew hay in those pastures this spring and the bales are still out there. Too hot even for an air-conditioned tractor.

I am not sure of today's agenda yet, but I am sure it will mostly be outside. I still need to pick up and shred some of the trimmed brush from the tree that fell over last Friday night. I also have what appears to be a dead tree that could be removed.

Out in the train shed yesterday, progress was made on the Perfect Perk Cafe. I did decide that I was going to put it next to the beer distributor in Rycon Township; that determined how large the plaza in front was going to be. First I fixed the roof and added the interior to the first floor. Second floor was already done.

IMG_0387.JPG

Then I used some Evergreen 1/2" sidewalk sheet for the plaza.
IMG_0385.JPG

Some Evergreen .040" x .060" spacer/foundation was added to the remaining walls to bring everything up to level.
IMG_0389.JPG

Now installed, painted and placed into position.
IMG_0390.JPG

Planting comes next with a parking area to the right, a driveway to the back and maybe some saplings between it and the beer distributor on the left. I'll also be adding tables and chairs with customers out front after I decide and/or purchase the furniture.
Remember that the street out front is actually off the layout in the aisle.

Tom O - It seems that 4' high raised gardening beds might be a bit high! Without a ladder to access them, tomato plants will almost reach the bottom of the solar panels, and you/she would have to stoop over to fit if one was to climb up there. That's also going to be a few truckloads of topsoil to fill them, along with a piece of equipment.
Regarding Lahaina and Maui; I have a real feeling that the whole recovery effort will be botched and tangled up in red tape. It won't happen in my lifetime. But kudos to Terry for her efforts and helpfulness.
I don't have SAD bad enough to require lights, but a few cloudy days in a row does severely affect my demeanor.
Sherrel - I am now supposed to avoid Advil and Aleve, so Tylenol gets a occasional workout now.
Terry - I guess that I am still old-fashioned as I don't do auto pay for anything except mail-order prescriptions and the monthly trash hauling fee. While we have begun to pay some bills online with actual releases, most of our bills are still "check in the mail".
Hughie - I absolutely refuse to go shoe shopping or any form of clothes shopping with my wife. That's why we have lasted 51 years.
Steve - Good to see you once again.
Troy - I'm thinking that I may need that prescription some time soon, but not yet.
Guy - Good to see you again as well. I was beginning to think that you fell off the horse into a deep canyon.

Everyone have a great hump day.

Willie, looking back over the years I have probably had the Seasonal Affective Disorder for years. But, we grinned and bore through it!

Maui between what my brother talks about almost daily now and what Terry was experiencing, Maui is a mess. It’s being made worst by do-gooder celebrities. Even MR control freak Jeff B is giving money but without the conditions attached to it like the 2 big do-gooders.

Good Morning All!
56F @ 66% and partly heading toward all blue and around 80F at 1600

We ran across a guy that just moved here without a pot to pee in. Just hopped off the train. Josh wanted to work for exchange for room and board. Stayed with another friend for about a week and they think that he is ok. Been Meth free for almost a year, just wants to keep busy. Ya, we know, some risk is involved. Turns out that he is a licensed carpenter and has feelers out around town. Everybody he has talked to is interested but nothing on the hook yet. Well, geesh - I have a room and 1/2 to finish so it seems a no brainer to us. He is fast, and it looks to me like he does really know what he is doing and stuff is getting done. Stuff is close to what I would do as to the framing, but he uses more wood than I. Not a big deal all in all.

We finally got the RV leveled and the water problems figured out. Last dickhead living in it did not have a clue of how to deal with RV stuff and things went sideways. His enclosing of the RV was a joke. We were still on the road so that could not be monitored and looked somewhat substansial from the outside. Ya, I happened to bang on one of the side panels, and the whole shebang fell apart. So, Josh is now getting that done too. Still have furnace problems and am working through it. Hot water heater is another issue we are working through. In any event he has a temporary roof for awhile; probably through the winter. I suspect that a job will come for him, just a matter of time.

I do admit that he is wearing me out trying to keep up with him. I will live. I suspect that all our projects for this year will be done in a couple of weeks, where it would take us a month or so; or more.

So far, he is doing what he is supposed to do and acting appropriate. When he gets a job, he is to pay $500 month plus 1/4 of the electric which in this area is cheap. We have also agreed to give him $25 a day for small pocket change at least for the next 2 weeks. He still smokes, but hay! On addiction at a time....

We will see.

Later

On hold with the mail-order pharmacy...

There were two orders (the old one was the one at 450 pills at once)

BUT the other order got messed up in their system, AGAIN. It was trying to fill 90 pills for a 90 day supply (the magic # is 18)

It filled fine when it was originally entered, but their system keeps trying to screw it up.

Trust me, the spousal unit will rebel if I get 90 pills for 90 days... 😜 👿

And now their computer is trying to charge $200+ for those 18 pills.

Costco has the next dose up, almost double the quantity, for $18

Their computer hates me.

EDIT: $2.64 total. Finally. Wonder what will happen in the next three months to get this screwed up again.

Might just go straight to Costco for the next batch.

Afternoon All,

Last night was restless but with only a very short fever. I actually have more energy today but still little appetite. I had my doc appointment at 0930 (telephone) and it was good news and bad news. I do not have Covid or the Flu. :) The downside are my Kidney and Liver blood work is pretty significantly above and below normal ranges.:( She had me do bloodwork again today (10 vials) and a Hepatitis screening.

MOH has a spiral Fx of her right foot that may require surgery. We are VA bound for that early tomorrow.

Steve- Good to see you posting again. How is your MRR empire going?

Troy- Glad you got the pharmacy figured out. A hard man is good to find. Sorry I just couldn't resist.

Guy- Enjoy your outdoor activities while you can. I have never seen that side view mirror image in FL. Just saying.

Sherrel- I hope you feel better soon.

Terry- I hope you are OK.

Todd- Your arrangement sounds like a win-win to all. You're a good guy to have taken a chance on him.

Garry- Stay safe from the approaching storm.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Feel Better, both of you!

Getting old socks as does painting a room you're trying to live in. Taking a break to pick up the granddaughter and run som other errands.

I will say we should have pulled out the fridge a lot sooner. Floor under it was a mess. All clean now, just in time to get it replaced 😂

Wanted to be done today, but the 4 hour report time is killing me, along with moving furniture and up and down on ladders.

Wow Curt, that's a bummer. Hope both of y'all get relief. Beginning to appear like a daily commute to the VA. Get well.

Troy: Congratulations, you hung in there and beat the infobots.

Gary:
Batten down the hatches and be careful. Lee is poised to hit at the border, and run through the Maritimes. Stay Safe!

moving furniture and up and down on ladders.
Patrick: Agreed. No fun going up and down ladders, moving furniture and appliances or finding unexpected "treasures". ;)

Not a whole lot going on here, with all the damp and wet weather we have had. I'm also falling behind with the model railroad. Left leg has literally been a pain. Tomorrow, I go to the cardiologist for my 6 months after surgery check-up.

Last Monday night's Bills - Jets game was the most watched ESPN MNF ever. Wow! Who'd of thunk it?
In other news, the DC Nationals extended General Manager Mike Rizzo's contract. Guess ownership is happy with the National's mediocrity.
Meanwhile, the Texas rangers announced that pitcher Max Scherzer, (formerly of the Mets), will be out for the rest of the regular season and most likely miss the playoffs, due to a shoulder injury...(they also have deGrom on LTIR). That's what ya get spending big bucks on has beens.
