Morning all.

Been up since 3:30 as my hands are going numb and hurting. Has to do with the bulging disk in my neck. I'm aggravating it with the painting, which is getting closer to completion.

I have a couple more hours before daylight, so Flo, Give me the big breakfast.

Currently 59° and cloudy, high later near 80.

BBL

Morning - 61 looking for 81 with mostly sunny.
FLO - Scrambled with bacon and a side of biscuits and gravy.
One of the flower boxes done and painted with a coating of roofing tar inside.
May not do much today - Patrick - I am sore too!
Willie - Aleve sometimes just is not enough - but, Advil does wonders.

P.S. All the bloodwork came back mid range; PSA was 6.0
UTI was positive! (which I already knew?)

Good morning from a brisk morning in my small part of Wisconsin. It is 46f degrees now heading to a possible 73. It’s a nice looking blue/gray sky out there and not a leaf in a tree wiggling. Terry said we are doing something this afternoon but I either wasn’t listening or forgot already!

Yesterday went well, some weathering work, the Wednesday vacuum the house duty and the g/d ball game at 7 last night under the lights. Even got home early enough to see the last 3 sets of WIsconsin versus Marquette Volleyball on TV. #1 rank WIsconsin had a tough time but eventually pulled out the match.

This morning is layout time, its a no weathering day with most of my time today going into straightening out my work area. Nothing feels right in there, sort of what I went through in January when we moved temporarily into the business office!

enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Cloudy and 67°, with a very light rain falling. Using a flashlight on the rain gauge, there appears to be about 0.15" in there, more than the past three days combined. I don't expect much more unless something else develops later in the day. Still not enough to break the drought.

I'll be making the weekly grocery trek today, getting back to the normal Thursday routine after a few weeks of crowded Fridays. For some reason, the fridge is more bare than normal. Worse than that is that there is no bacon in either the fridge or freezer. Let's see where prices are this week! I already know that the three pound package of thick-cut bacon is on sale for $15.47; that's about a dollar a pound less than it has been.

The rain will eliminate working in the yard today, since most of the Bermuda has gone dormant or died, there will be nothing but sticky mud. But I got a whole lot more done yesterday...almost caught up.

Unusual day yesterday, as I didn't even set foot in the train shed. I just wasn't inspired. Of course this morning, I have been thinking about projects that I want to start and how to go forward on the coffee shop.
In the meantime, here's a couple of pictures from the archives of the casket company that I scratchbuilt in 3/2020.

Curt - Really a drag that both of you are down and moving slowly. Best wishes and prayers for the both of you for a speedy recovery.
Patrick - While I admire your work ethic while on vacation, you probably need to take it a little easier on yourself.
Sherrel - After the unexpected internal bleeding a couple of months ago, I have been advised by no less than three doctors to not take Aleve or Advil any more. They are both NSAID drugs and can cause stomach inflammation. Tylenol is a different class of pain reliever and is OK. For the most part, I was only taking one or two a month over the years, until the sciatica hit.

Everybody have a great day.

Willie: Maybe a giggle for ya. I used to live in a casket company circa 2000. This was after they quit building them. Had about 2000ft on the 2nd floor of which I turned into an apartment/server data center. Was doing ISDN/Dial-up from across the street in my business ( NW Monitor/Northwest Computer ) but needed a bigger location for adding DSL to my mix. Had a DSLAM with three T3's feeding it. The fun part was this had nine 5' x 8' windows on the West side that faced toward downtown Everett, Wa - hardly turned lights on at night. Anyway, it is also where I met Maria as she worked for Sound Casket. My Aunt from NJ was gonna come an visit. Told her that we had beds for all - satin sheets and pillows and were mobile on rollers. Took about 2 blinks and she said 'Oh sh.t' and hung up on me. I guess sleeping in one was just a little out there for her! We still catch up with one of the funeral home directors every once in awhile that Maria served. Now days, all the big conglomerates have taken over forcing the little guys out ( Bates is one ). Kinda to bad as from what I could tell from all of the machinery around they had quite the operation. Was there just a little over a year, then we moved the business up on N. Broadway. Quit being a provider as no matter what I did I always had to throw money at the upstream providers to keep upgrading speeds. It got to be a PITA after awhile - really tough to make a buck at it. Then in '04 we made it to Libby.

Later

Basically one wall remains without the first coat of paint. It will get that first coat this afternoon. I still have a 30" x 8' wall that will need done, but I really waiting to take the TV down.
I may actually get a day off before I head back to the office on Monday.

The newest studio/workshop is uncomfortable. I am starting to rearrange the weathering work space as that is we’re I spend most of my time when in the workshop. I like everything within arm’s length so I will keep playing with it all

This is actually the 4th different shop space this work space has been it. Terry thinks I need to start with removing the IPod and its speakers. I like the 7800+ songs on it within the arms length space requirement I have and yes it must be to my left

Yo: Happy Thursday! 78° and mostly sunny. Also significantly less humid today. Hurricane Lee is still heading for Maine, New Brunswick, and the Maritimes. To watch the fear mongers on the noon CBS 2 News, it's headed our way. According to the cone of indecision, it won't get close. The worst we can expect is the possibility of minor coastal flooding at high tide. Gary, be careful!

Today is "Filled Donut Day", as announced by my grand daughter and her friend, on ABC 50 in Watertown, NY. Her 10 seconds of fame! We stopped at ShopRite, and the wife and I each had a Boston Cream Donut to celebrate.

I had an early appointment with the Cardiologist, who was quite pleased with my condition. I'm good for another 6 months. He told me to increase my activity, (walking etc), and to "Bulk up" a bit...he agrees I may have lost too much weight. After we left the doctor, we went to the diner on Hwy 9, where I had an Omelet, (Peppers, Onions, Tomato chunks and mushrooms), bacon and home fries, with toast and coffee. I haven't had such a breakfast in years. My wife had french toast, and some of my bacon. Coffee was diner coffee, designed to wake you up. Over all, a good morning.

Tom O: Like the work space. Any place for a shelf for the I pod? I have a Boom box, complete with remote, that plays CDs, if I can find a place for it. I do like how you store your paint.

Sherrel:
Christian and Smudge are hanging out at the other forum. Did your doctor comment on the PSA score?

Patrick: Hope you feel better.

Thursday Night Football: Minneapolis visits Philly. TV = Prime. 8:15 PM EST.

The Atlanta Braves clinched their sixth consecutive National League East championship. Washington is almost a lock to finish in the cellar, unless the Mets force the issue. In the AL East, the margin between Baltimore and Tampa Bay is much tighter, only two games separate the top 2. So that race is still wide open.

I miss Christian - and Jaz - and Smudge!
Comon back you guys!
Smudge has been hanging out here, just not in the Coffee Shop. Christian took himself out by reregistering far too many times, almost like it was a game.
I am beginning to really worry about Jaz though. She's been gone way too long for it to be just taking a break.

Going back in the years though, I also really miss Beady and his absolutely warped sense of humor. And Chet since he left the hobby. In Chet's case at least, he has given me the opportunity to preserve some facets of Logan Valley on my layout. I think that Todd has most of his engines and will also preserve some of that legacy.

A bluetooth speaker in an off-table location would free up a lot of real estate.

Afternoon All,

Today was an eventful day. I drove MOH to the VA ER to get her injury into the system. The Ortho looked at her x-rays and decided surgery wasn't needed. :) She now has a leg boot, a walker, and a leg scooter. She has a follow up in a month with Ortho. On a side note, I had thought the ER was small but in reality, it's huge. Pleasant surprise. The downside for us is it is about 40 minutes away.

I still had restless sleep, but I didn't get overheated. Through most the day I'm fine but later in the day I still get fatigue and loss of appetite. After we got home my doc's office called and scheduled another appointment, this time for my newest set of labs😲, at least it's on the phone. That's 4 appointments over 2 weeks. SMH

MOH has a sewing retreat (classes) in Sarasota (3 hours away) on Saturday, so we are driving down tomorrow and coming back on Sunday. While she is doing sewing stuff, I'll visit Gulf Coast Model Railroad Shop (I think that's the correct name). I've been there 2-3 times, and it is an old-fashioned train shop that I love. MOH says I have $450 in my train fund and if I need more just be sensible.:):):):)

Karl/Joe- Thank you.

Willie-Nice background scene.

Sherrel- I may remember this wrong and if I do I apologize ahead of time. During the great kerfuffle I believe Smudge posted that he didn't care to read about everybody's day to day stuff.

TomO- I always listen to music in the train room. Is that wire armatures for tree making in the last photo?

Joe- Good news from your Cardiologist.

I hope everyone has a good night and weekend.

Sounds like you are sort of on the mend…

$450 in the train fund could be fun spending!

There is at least 1 armature hanging in the picture for a tree. The rest of the twisted wires you see are for branches for a grove of Aspen trees I have been working on

I spent a few hours in the train room so far today.

One of my train buddies texted this morning asking what I was doing today. Told him after lunch I was planning to do to some locomotive 🚂 programming. He ended up coming over and did some feeder soldering on the power buss for the staging area. I programmed 2 of my own diesels and 3 of his. He said he can come over Saturday morning and solder the feeders to track if I can get it laid down by then! Guess what I’m doing after dinner tonight.

Heck yea! Take that deal and run!!!

And the saga of the little blue pills continues...

Got an email that my order was on hold... Please call in with this order number.

Well, I don't want the spousal unit disappointed when I get back from my trip to Tampa next week. So I called

Seems the system thinks my doctor has ordered 450 pills with 1 refill...

I said, I thought this was cleared up yesterday... your system keeps screwing it up somehow. I know the insurance will only pay for 18 pills every three months. Why would any doc order that many pills?

Sorry... your doc has to send in a new script...

I didn't realize it would be this hard ... and the puns write themselves....

So, I emailed the doc, explained, and asked him to call in a script to Costco. They're fairly cheap for that dosage in a bottle of 30. I'll be spending about an extra $5/year by going that route...
