Same Ol' Buzzard
Another comfortable afternoon on the SFW estate...in the pool!
Any car that has "Onstar" or anything similar tracks how and where you drive. I got a Colorado that let me know exactly where I went with it and how fast I drove. Every new vehicle has a black box that shows how you drive it. I'm not really sure about how "private matters" are monitored, but I know there are microphones in nearly everything these days.Though I'd not be buying a car from anyone that does this. Not their business where, how, etc I drive.
I call my knees Snap and Crackle, and my right hip is Pop!Don't feed your kids\grandkids Rice Krispies cereal....
All those that ate them as kids now Snap, Crackle and Pop.
And now the Florida skeeters have all been sucked up against the screen in Terry's window.Good morning. It's 70 and mostly clear. Just because I can, I opened a window, and turned on a vent fan.
That can easily turn into a very costly trip!Going with the boy to shop for flooring for his house and ours.

I puffed away for 52 years - quitting multiple times along the way ranging from 3-4 days to 6 months, but like a moth to the flame I kept it up.Ham, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns(shredded), & OJ is required this am. need food to replace the cigarettes I havent had for 48 hrs. Its a start & everything has a starting point
Parts of this country have been turning into a hell hole for a while now. I'll stop there because of the politics potential....and turning the country into a hell hole at the same time.
Congrats on 51 years! Terry and I will be 47 on 9/18. I never smoked but mom/dad and Terry all did. Terry quit the day I retired in 9/2014 and the last couple years it has finally caught up to her. COPD! Not funGood Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 74° to start our day. Yep! We had a little thundershower last night. It was brief and left 0.4" in the rain gauge, enough here to settle the dust and totally freak out anyone in Southern Kalifornia. Thunder is rumbling outside right now, but it appears that all activity is 4-5 miles east of here. Last night might have even surprised the NWS, because it was never in the forecast even after it started. Still looking at cooler temperatures and possible rain starting Monday.
Yesterday's high temperature of 109° felt kinda warm since there was no wind whatsoever until the thundershower hit right at dusk. It will be 9 months before we see triple digits again.
A less than successful day at the grocery store yesterday. They were out of enough items that were on my list that I had to choose between going to Walmart or Target across the street. I chose Target because of many negative experiences at Walmart, and it appeared that I would have to park a half mile away. Prices seemed to have stabilized about 20% higher than two years ago and I doubt that any of them will go down. Gasoline has not really gone up here yet, but I expect it to by next week.
An auspicious day today, 51 years ago on a Saturday evening, my wife and I got married. How we tolerated each other for this long, I have no idea.
Out in the train shed yesterday, I continued painting figures. Nothing really to post pictures of yet.
Some random pictures today. A vacant lot.

By the way, that wavy thing in the background is what a solar screen looks like when photographed.
Moermusic - Congratulations and good luck on quitting smoking. It probably won't be easy if you've been smoking for very long, but it is possible. For me it was easier as I had only smoked for a short period of time and quit in 1970, when the price of a pack went from 30¢ to 33¢. As a poor college student, that meant a savings of about $2.50 a week. Enough to fill the gas tank on my VW Beetle. My Dad never quit and it eventually got him, he was a two pack a day Lucky Strike non-filtered for nearly 60 years. Sarcastically, we placed a pack into his coffin at the wake, along with his favorite Zippo lighter. He once pointed out that he quit every single day; just at bedtime. After he passed away, we found dozens of burns in the carpet next to his bed, where burning butts had fallen out of the ashtray.
Nice pictures by the way.

Chad - I'm pretty sure that Utah has personal values pretty close to those in Texas. You might have to correct me.
Todd - Good thoughts on quitting tobacco.
Patrick - Best wishes to your wife in overcoming whatever ails her.
Everybody have a great Saturday.
