Afternoon All,

Spent the morning at the stealership where Dad bought a 2020 Equinox. After lunch I installed a sound bar on my TV. I recieved it for my birthday last week. I'm waiting on parts so I can get started on the signaling in earnest. I'll probably be ready late next week. Meantime book fair.

My favorite western is Open Range.

Chet- Great photos of your grandson. Good luck with your surgery. Great layout photos.

Hughie- You've done a very nice job on the build.

Sherrel- Happy Birthday.

Willie- Nice job on the fence.

Dave- I really like the old billboard cars.

Hughie- Happy Anniversary.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Just because I have a gun I am nuts? Boy I must be really nuts as I have many guns!
Never heard the quote above. Gun people most always say "Better to have one and not need it, then to need one and not have it". In today's world, that might be considered a good theory.
Todd- another expression I’ve heard(with regardless to LEOs, but also applies to 2A carriers): “better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6”.

OK, so who is your favorite bass player? I have a few I really like. Christina Weymouth and Chris Squire come to mind right away. I appreciate Flea's skills, but not a huge fan of the Ret Hot Chili Peppers.

RC planes... Back around 1980, I had a Falcon 56 that I flew a few times before I crashed it. A buddy was really into RC planes, but my parents wouldn't agree to getting me a replacement after I crashed the first plane I built. Maybe I should have started with a smaller, simpler plane. The Falco 56 was a pretty large and relatively costly plane back then. And I used "micro bubbles" (or some product like that) to do the wings, rather than the inexpensive, and more lightweight shrink-wrap skins.
My favorite bass players are Tommy Cathey(DeGarmo & Key), Ronnie Cates(Petra), Phil Joel(Newsboys) & Tommy Simms(White Heart)

so I can get started on the signaling in earnest.
Curt: I didn't know you were modeling the Trenton Branch.

Now that you have thought about that for a couple of seconds, Ernest was a Yard located on the PRR Trenton Branch, just East of the Schuylkill (River). There was an Automobile Terminal there, where loaded bi-levels and tri-levels with autos for Philadelphia dealerships were unloaded.
My wife used to repeat that expression, until I took her there, when we were on our way to a train show in King of Prussia, PA.

BTW, there were signals there, and an interlocking cabin "Nest" Tower. which controlled the interlocking and connection to the Schuylkill Valley Branch. Back in the day, a pioneer Oil-electric box cab (diesel) locomotive was based there. Interesting place for a hole in the wall location.

Have a great day.

Rode up to Mainline Hobbies in Summit, PA today. Bought a few odds and ends along with another Athearn Genesis NS loco. Think it's an SD70MAce. I don't remember, but it looked good.
Mainline was hosting layout tour today and tomorrow. There are about 20 some layouts on the tour. I went to two of the club layouts that were on the tour. They are fortunate to have those buildings. Both hosted several scales of trains. Nothing really outstanding about either layout but they seemed to have sufficient club support to keep things running.
There were quite a few private layouts on the tour but I didn't want to venture into private households.
Great day for putting miles on the Honda though. Over 350 miles for the day.

Good evening. Clear skies all day, currently 67° Swampside. Going down to at least 62°. Made it to 77° this afternoon. Fog developing tonight. Love this nice weather.

The Orioles lost to Toronto again...mathematically, they are still in the race, 5 games out of a Wild Card spot, but also 7 games from Elimination.
Army, kicked the ***t out of Villanova this afternoon. VU 10 - Army 49. That's ok, I'm an ARMY vet.
The Mets, hold a 1 game lead over Atlanta, as they play tonight's game at Pittsburgh. Since both Wild Card teams are from the NL East, they need to get over their funk and dominate the lesser teams that have been making them look bad. I'm tired of wait until next year.

G41A Covered Coil Gondola 09_17-2022.jpg

Tangent PRR G41A Covered Coil Gondola - 38" wheels 125 Ton Capacity. Added to my roster today. Looks great, heavy car from factory. Runs like a Sled. Those semi-scale 38" wheels sure make the code 70 rail look tiny.

Open Range, agreed.

Louis - Don't feel bad about missing a few days and trying to catch up. You're not alone.

Gotta go. My daughter just pulled in. Bye
Chet- cute lil tyke. That diner is something that I need to add to my layout, since I originally hail from the Diner Capital Of The World.
Todd(Libby)- I have balance issues, but walking on a 2x4, putting my socks & shoes(the way most people say that phrase would end with a lot of extra dirty socks) with one foot in the fair, doing the hokey pokey & any other home remedy won’t work for me. I’ve been thru vestibular, physical & occupational therapy, all with no relief. About half of my concussions over the past 2 years are due to my balance issues, which are a result of a stroke 8 years ago.
Patrick(& Karl)- I didn’t lose either sense, as evidenced by the 10-15 lbs I put on the month.
Hughie- happy belated anniversary to you & your better half.
Brain fog and losing train of thought are not necessarily due to Covid. It's been happening to me since I was 62 and most of my peers as well! I haven't had Covid!
Willie- I’ve been dealing with the brain fog since about 45; my train left me standing at the station just about as long.
On a side note, and sorry Terry if it's political, but watching a movie earlier today, kept getting ads for a guy running for Congress from N.E. Pennsylvania. I'm over 1000 miles away. When you watch via a Roku free movie you get ads from everywhere.
Patrick- last weekend, we were watching a ballgame(Dodgers & San Diego) from Wisconsin & we got a commercial for a car dealer who is a sponsor for the Marlins(AutoNation, I think).

Joe- this year, they added the third Wild Card team, which will likely come down to the wire between the Madres & the Brew Crew. Apparently, Tyler Anderson is currently on the paternity list. I told SWMBO, “someone either had a verrry Merry Christmas or an especially Happy New Year. He doesn’t know how to plan these things, because he’s not used to playing meaningful baseball this late in September.” .
